I took a shower and got dressed. The guys came up to my room to get me to come down. It was time for my birthday party. As we joke and mess around on our way downstairs. We stepped into the hall as I took a breath in to calm myself down. I instantly stiffen. What is that wonderful smell? It's honey and lavender. The smells together are heavenly. I look around and see her from here. Wait, oh my goddess why did you pair me with her. My friends will never accept her. My parents will love her because the moon goddess created her for me. I want her so bad, I never knew that the mate bond would ever be this strong. We heard in school about how strong it can be, but I never thought it would be this strong. I went to walk to her to talk to her but was interrupted by my parents who wanted to introduce me to other alphas and their family. I think they were hoping that maybe one of their daughters would be my fated mate. They don’t know I have already found her. I will not mention it right now. I will keep it to myself. After about another 20 minutes of greeting alphas and their families, it was time to sit down so my dad could make his speech. As we took our seats I noticed her and her friend come back in from outside. I saw how she gracefully walked to her table. It was like she was walking on clouds. I shake my head to listen to my father speak.

My father began, “good evening and thank you all for coming to Hunter’s 18th birthday celebration. We are so happy that everyone could join us tonight. Now let’s have dinner and dance the night away.” Everyone cheered and we ate dinner and then joined in dancing and hanging out with all that came. I was on my way over to hang out with James and Chelse when I started to overhear their conversation. I found out that her birthday is exactly two weeks from today and she will be 18. Well sense I have to wait till then then I will. Our laws prevent us from telling our mates until we are both 18 years old. I stepped away after hearing that and the threat James said. I hope maybe I can keep him busy enough that he won’t think of how to take his revenge. I am over this. I just want this night to end. I am over the music and my mother trying to get me to talk to every she-wolf out there. I head outside to the garden to take a breather for a few minutes before heading back in to endure more of the torcher.

All of a sudden I hear “Well at least you found our mate.” I looked around wondering who said that. Then I realized it was my wolf who said it. “Hey I didn’t think you were ever going to show up. What's your name? Can we shift now?” I asked. “My name is Axel and of course we can shift. It will be painful, but don't fight me on it. Do you want to go now or after the party?” He asked me. Out of the corner of my eye I see movement. I fully looked at the movement now and I saw the most gorgeous she-wolf. I look at her from her toes to her head, she has all the right curves and that dress fits beautifully on her. I take a step closer to her. She must have heard me stepping closer because at that point she turned around and looked straight at me. Her eyes instantly went wide and she sucked in her breath and almost looked scared. She recovered fast and bowed her head saying “I’m sorry Alpha i didn’t know that you were out here. I will leave now and leave you to your thoughts.” She bowed again and went to leave. “Wait, you don’t have to leave just because I am out here. You can stay, I wouldn’t mind the company for a few minutes.” I say to her in hopes she will stay and talk with me. The look on her face is so unsure. She thinks for a moment and nods yes. That makes me feel so much better, that she said yes. “Come on over and sit on the bench.” I tell her and she comes to sit as far from me as she can get. She even looks scared but confident if that’s even possible as I chuckle on the inside. I then take a breath in to strike up a conversation and my wolf is howling. “Axel what is going on with you? You're pacing and going crazy, you're gonna give me a headache.” I snapped at him. “MATE!!” He belted out. “Wait, what did you just say? Did you just say mate?” I asked dumb struck. “Yes!” He says as he prances around in my head.

She stares at me for a moment before she gets the courage and asks me, “so what do you want to talk about? How is your birthday going for you? Have you met your wolf yet?”

I laughed out loud because she was so quiet before and then all of a sudden she burst out with questions. So I answered her. “Well I don’t really know what to talk about, but please don’t take this the wrong way but can I ask you what's your name?”

“My name is Keri.” She said but the look in her eyes was hurt and sadness. Oh no I need to change that I want her to be happy not sad or hurt. Axel is now purring at her name.

“As for my birthday it is going ok. I really am over it today. I am just ready for it to be quiet. I actually just met my wolf before I saw you. His name is Axel. So when is your birthday? How old are you Keri?” Her name rolls off my tongue so naturally and so perfectly. I know when her birthday is and how old she will be. I am just trying to keep her talking. Her voice is such sweet music to my ears. I am still very shocked that she is my mate. I still don’t know what I’m going to do. Maybe I will talk to Luca. He's been my best friend since we were 5 years old. He has kept everyone of my secrets and I trust him with my life.

“My birthday is two weeks from tonight and I will be turning 18. I am excited to meet my wolf. I hope she will like me and be a beautiful wolf.” She speaks so freely now like she is almost comfortable with me. I listened to her talk. I realized that I enjoy her company very much.

“I think your wolf will love you and she will be just as beautiful as you.” I told her. She blushed as I said that to her.

“Well thank you, that’s so kind of you. So have you found your mate yet?” She asked out of nowhere. She took me by surprise, but I recovered quickly and answered her.

“I have but I can’t tell her yet.” As I tell her this she looks confused so I answer her confused look. “She is not of age yet.” Realization hit her expression as she understood why I can’t tell her yet.

“Oh, will you reject her? Oh my goddess why did I ask that, you don’t have to answer me. I’m sorry that was very rude of me.” She looks at the ground with a red tint creeping up her neck. She is absolutely adorable when she is embarrassed.

“It’s alright. And I don’t know her that well to reject her. I am hoping to get to know her more. My parents have always told me that the mate bond is very strong. That I should never go against the moon goddess and who she has created for us.” I told her. Now I just need to figure out how I am supposed to get to know Keri without her figuring it out in the next two weeks.

“Well that's kind of you to want to get to know her. Well I should be leaving. I need to go find my friend. It was nice talking to you alpha and I apologize if I said anything disrespectful. Have a good rest of your birthday. Good night.” She walked away after she said that and I had to fight myself and my wolf to not go after her. I know our laws and I don’t know if I can accept her anyways. I went for my first shift and ran after that. My wolf and I decided we would talk to Luca tomorrow on his thoughts about this
