"I'll do it, Boss." Amaia replied, as she was trying her best not to look to eager and excited.
“You made the right decision, Amaia. Here, it contains all the information you should know about your first assignment. And I suggest that you should take this job seriously." Boss Lisa said, while handing a thick folder to her.
"My Diary of Dating a Celebrity?” Amaia curiouy read the title on the folder.
“That’s right. I need you to find out how celebrities date during their private time. I want you to find out the juicy details of the idol's dating life!" her Boss further explained.
"You mean, stalk them 24/7?" Amaia unbelievably asked.
Boss Rina smiled as she nodded.
"Stalking is not the proper word for what I have in mind, dear... You can get all the necessary information for your article by fully involving yourself to this undercover mission." her Boss mysteriously stated.
"I-I don't understand." Amaia's getting more and more confused as minutes passes by.
Amaia, can't you still get it? It's very simple. Make the subject fall in love with you!"
Amaia blinked, not once but thrice. Her jaw almost dropped halfway to the floor after hearing her Boss.
“You’re kidding me... Right, Boss?”
"Do I look like I'm kidding? And this is just purely business, so why are you reacting that way?" Boss Rina exclaimed.
Amaia lets out a deep sigh.
"But I'm one hundred percent sure that the subject is not going to fall inlove with me!" she countered.
"Yes, you're not exactly beautiful, Amaia, but you have a pretty face. And your fashion sense, darling... We need to do a makeover." suggested Boss Lisa.
Amaia helplessy turned the folder to the other page. She saw her target's photo. She has to admit that the man in the picture is jaw-dropping gorgeous. But this man looks really familiar to her.
She stared at his thin, kissable, lips... Next, she looked at his mole on his jaw, and that face seems like he's calling for her full attention...
There's no mistake about it, this is the very same man that she met at the train station!
“That man is Nick Sorrento, the leader of a boyband which is called NO Borders. They are the most popular boyband in the country. What makes Nick Sorrento unique is he's cold and aloof, and he doesn't have ANY scandal since the very first day he started in the music industry... So, I want you to be close to him and know his deep, dark secrets..." Boss Lisa relayed.
"Boss, I can't do this." Amaia replied.
"Hand me your resignation letter, then." the Boss commanded her.
"W- What?!" Amaia asked, as her eyes widened in shock.
"Since you don't like this undercover mission, you'd better resign from this company. I'll just look for someone else who would be willing to take your place ..." Lisa frankly stated.
"But that's unfair!" Amaia replied.
“I don’t care what you think, Amaia. You have to choose. I need an answer, NOW."
Amaia tightly closed her eyes, as she starts thinking...
This would be a great opportunity for her to finally escape from being a paparazzi, and she'll finally do what she really wants... Writing an article for the magazine. And besides, she can't deny the fact that Boss Lina has so many connections, and it will definetely help her in the future...
"I don't have much time, Amaia ..." Rina said.
"I'll do it." Amaia has finally made up her mind.
Boss Rina's smile widened after hearing Amaia's decision.
After a few hours.
At a classy and expensive-looking salon.
“You call this overtime work ?!” Amaia unbelievably shrieked, while staring at her reflection in the mirror.
With trembling hands, she touched her hair. Her old, jet-black, shiny hair has been dyed with auburn color. She looks really different, and it weirded her out.
Disgusted, he suddenly looked at Boss Lina.
"What the heck did they do to my hair? And what the heck is this place? I thought we were going to have a meeting for the theme of our next month's issue?" Amaia bombarded her with questions.
"As you can see, this is one of the most popular hair salons in the city. And obviously, you just had your hair done." Boss Lina answered, in a matter-of-factly tone.
"And why did you bring me here?" Amaia questioned her Boss again.
“I need to help you prepare for your undercover mission. You need to have a total makeover, so that your cover will not be blown! You need to do this so that you can make Nick Sorrento fall inlove with you..." Lina patiently explains again.
"Do we really have to do this?" Amaia cajoled.
"It's a matter of life and death, Amaia! You have to look beautiful to catch his attention! And did you know that make-ups and fancy dresses are considered as weapons against men? ” Lina gave her a quick trivia.
"But this is totally not me. I look so different and I'm not really confident if I can make Nick Sorrento fall inlove with me!" Amaia tries to reason out.
"Don't worry, dear. We will take this one step at a time. But for the meantime, let's do something for your clothes. Your loose shirt and baggy pants should be put into trash." Boss Lina, while surveying her.
Before Amaia could speak again, Boss Lina called her friend, who was the owner of the Beauty Salon. She was pulling a rack of trendy and stylish set of clothes. She also bought out many pairs of high-heel shoes.
Amaia groaned inwardly, as she finally have an idea what they are going to do next.
"Relax, Amaia. These clothes and shoes won't kill you. Here, try these..." Lina commanded her, as she handed her a cocktail dress and black pair of pumps.
Amaia didn't have a choice but to follow her Boss' order, in exchange of her dream of being promoted.
She took the dress and shoes from her, and she went to the mini-dressing room to change...
