Sounds slowly returned to me, the sound of an owl hooting in the distance, the rustle of grass as a small animal explores, and then in the distance my two favourite sounds in the whole world.
"ASTRO? BABY ANSWER ME LOVE."
"STARLIGHT, LOVE CAN YOU HERE US?"
I pushed myself into a sitting position and turned towards the sound of my boy's voices. They both barrel through the flattened tree line at the same time, freezing as they spotted me.
I opened my arms to them and make grabbing motions with my hands, like a small child wanting to be picked up. Huge smiles light up their faces and they rushed towards me, both sliding to the floor and wrapping themselves around me.
