1. Not For Me

_________________________ . . . ~JAMIE~ . It was a brand new day. And life was still as horrible as it was yesterday. I sat up and looked around. Last night, in my dream, this room was filled with the ghosts of the people I have killed. But the sun had come out and the spirits had fled with the darkness and I was left with my own demons. "Jamie, are you up?" There was a knock on my door. I sighed and laid back down on my bed, covering my face with my blanket. I heard the door open and there was silence for two seconds before she spoke. "Very funny, Jamie. Get up now. I have work for you." I sat up immediately and narrowed my eyes. "I had complete control over my breathing. There is no way you could have known!" "You forgot to stop shaking your legs." She shrugged and walked out just like that. I looked over at my treacherous legs, shaking under my blanket. Gaah, my life sucks! I quickly hopped off my bed and put on my robe over my naked form. Yeah, naked form. I was in pain. Not from the brutal s*x. My werewolf body leaves no trace of the pain. Yay. I was in pain from the words that my mate growled in my ears as he mated with the woman he hated the most in the world - a weak wolfless killer who brought nothing but shame to his name. Sigh. No no... I was not sad. Why would I ever be sad when at the end of the day, instead of the death I deserve, I get to live a life of luxury? I mean, yeah... I was basically under house arrest. But that's because I am a FREAKING killing machine. I chuckled to myself as I stared at my reflection on the mirror. I wondered how many bruises and scars would I have on me if I was human. I was wolfless and I let others believe that I was weak. But I was not thaaaat weak. My healing was just as powerful as it was four years ago, when I met my mate and lost my wolf. I sighed again. Poor poor mate. Pretty sure he thinks I am a weakling now. He does not realise that I choose to be weak. The killer in me is still alive. I just choose to be docile. "Jamie!" Maria walked in and stopped in her tracks. "Wow, princess royal only took two steps from her bed." She rolled her eyes. "Get out of here!" I waved her off dismissively and made my way into my walk-in closet. "Let's see. What shall I wear today?" "PJs?" Maria asked, bored. "Considering you won't be leaving the mansion today?" I spun on my heels and gave her a confused look. "Am I under literal house arrest for some reason? I can walk around the estate right?" "War has been declared." Maria shrugged. "The Alpha said not to let you anywhere out. Even increased security." I smirked. "He wants all of you to die?" Maria gave me a flat look. "The sooner you stop reminding people of your past, the sooner they will get over it." "No one really gets over the death of their dear ones." I said. "Especially not when their murderer is standing right in front of them." "Then I am just glad you did not kill any of my dear ones." "Lucky you. You are one among a very few." . . . ~ROWAN~ . "You okay, Ro?" Peter asked as he rolled up all the territory maps lying open on the table. "Worried for your mate?" Rowan turned around and faced his beta with a stoic look. "Not for. I am worried about what she might do while I am away." "She never caused any trouble in the past four years." Peter said. "I am sure she is too self-indulged these days to go back to her old ways." "She did not cause any trouble in the last four years because I was watching her like a hawk. But who knows what she might do now that she will be off my radar." "She lost her wolf, Ro. She has not killed a soul or shown any sort of intent to in the last four years ever since she found you, her mate. It's all water under the bridge." "Not for the people who lost their loved ones." Rowan said lowly and faced his Beta. "Not for me." Peter sighed. It was true. Peter, like Maria, was one among the few who did not lose their loved ones to Jamie. The entire pack was enraged and apprehensive when they found out that she was their Luna. It was a comfort to them that she had lost her murderous wolf, that she was under house arrest and that Rowan was personally making sure that she did not go back to her old ways. But now, with Rowan going away to the warfront, there was restlessness in the pack. What if this blood hungry wolf was waiting for a weakness? What if she attacked? "So what do you plan to do about it?" Rowan looked over at the wall clock and let out a breath. "You will see in a few moments." On cue, there was a knock on the door. "What are you planning?" Peter asked as he watched Rowan go over to the door in a hurry. "You will see!" He repeated and flung the door open to reveal a young man with the palest skin and blondest hair and the bluest eyes. "A vampire?" Peter raised a brow. "Sorcerer." The guest was not happy. "Daniel Rished." "A pleasure." Peter nodded. He did not like the aura this sorcerer gave off. Daniel nodded and took off his coat. "Daniel, just hand it over and leave." Rowan said impatiently. Daniel turned around and gave him a flat look. "So no one is going to ask me for tea or refreshment? I just flew seven hours to get here." "Daniel..." "Fine." Daniel huffed and pulled out a small pouch from his pocket. From inside, he pulled out a vial of tarry black liquid which bubbled disgustingly inside it. "What is that?" The mere sight of it made Peter avert his eyes in revulsion. "Magic potion to take away all the magic." Daniel shrugged. "For three full moons. She will get her powers back on the night of the fourth full moon. Give it to her today. Yesterday was a full moon so you will get four lunar months." Rowan nodded. "So she will be a mere human for these four months?" "Yes yes." Rowan took the vial in his hand and stared at the revolting liquid. "How the hell am I supposed to make her drink this?" . . . _______________________
