Chapter 5

Amanda POV

“Good morning Sugar!” I hear Luke’s greeting first thing in the morning.

I am about to greet him too when I realized that there’s something wrong with the scene. ‘Why am I sleeping on a same bed with him?’, ‘When did I slept?’ and ‘What happened last night?’ Those are the questions running in my mind. I hurriedly get up and scan the room, the floor and myself.

“Sugar, what’s wrong?” Luke asked confused.

“Nothing.” I said and face palm myself.

“Then why are you seems panicking?” He inquired again.

“Nothing, leave it.” I replied.

I’m about to stand up from bed when he pulls me and made me lay in bed again. He hover on top of me, scanning my face while both of my hands are pinned on top of my head.

“What are you doing?” I shyly asked, knowing that I still have my morning breath.

“What are you really thinking?” He asked again.

“I said it’s nothing. Now can you please just let me go?” I said, getting uncomfortable in our position.

“Do you know that you’re blushing right now baby?” He tease.

“Of course not! Why will I blush? Now move and just let me go.” I said and tried to push him away.

After several trials to get away from him, still I’m pinned and couldn’t even move. He’s having fun seeing me struggling to get away from his strong grip.

“What are you doing?” He mockingly said and grinning at the same time.

“Move now or you want this bed to get wet.” I said for him to get that I need to use the rest room.

“Baby, you know how I love and enjoy when you’re getting wet.” He said that makes me feel like my blood was drained.

“Enough Luke, can you just leave me?” I hissed due to my embarrassment and annoyance to him.

Good thing that he listen to me this time and allowed me to get up. I am about to go straight in the washroom when he pulled me again and hug me so tight. So tight that I feel like he want to say something that he couldn’t voice out. After a minute of bone crashing hug, he placed a kiss on my head and silently leave the room. 

After taking my morning routine, I went out and look for Kylie so I could offer her my help in arranging the upcoming event or even for just assisting their guests.

“Amanda, did you already have your breakfast?” I heard from my back.  Turn around to see who called me and it was Shiloe.

“Not yet, I’m looking for my friend Kylie. Did you happen to see her?” I asked while scanning the area.

“Nope, but I can help you to look for her.” He offered.

“No need. I’ll just walk around, for sure she’s just somewhere assisting other guests.” I said turning down his offer.

I didn’t want others to think wrong of me and to be link to him or to any other man. Or maybe, I just don’t want Luke to think that I’m with someone.

“So where’s the L.A. CEO?” He suddenly asked, pertaining to Luke.

“I don’t know, after he left our room I haven’t seen him yet.” I answered in an instant.

“You’re sharing same room with him?” He asked surprised.

“Ahm, sharing the penthouse with him but with separate rooms.” I said smartly.

“Hmm, Okay.” He replied

Finally, I spotted Kylie and Fritz in one corner of the room. I excused myself to Shiloe and walk towards where my friends are. As I approach them it’s like they were so surprised to see me, which makes me wonder why.

“Amanda, you’re here.” Kylie exclaimed with the hint of nervousness.

“Yeah, I’ve been looking for you. Why are you seems so surprise upon seeing me?” I asked.

“Hmm, nothing. I just thought that you just want to stay inside your room for the whole day. Yeah, that’s it.” She said nervously while fidgeting her hands.

Fritz suddenly excused himself and hurriedly went inside of their house. While Kylie asked me to just stay inside my room and just rest. I was so confused about the way they’re acting, but I just did what I was told to do so and went back in my room. Getting bored alone, I texted Luke and asked where he is. But after half an hour he’s still not replying, so I tried to call him instead. After several calls I tried he finally answer my call.

“Hello?” He said on his baritone voice.

“Where are you?” I asked.

“I’m having a meeting here in my hotel. Why?” He replied.

“Ohh, sorry! I didn’t mean to disturb you. I’ll hang up now, bye.” And when I’m about to end the call, I heard a woman’s voice on the other line calling Luke as sweetheart.

I didn’t get the chance to hear their conversation because I already pushed the end call button, but I am itching to know the woman who’s calling him with an endearment. Without thinking twice, I took a bath and dress myself into something sexy casual outfit, put on some make up and search for Kylie.

“Amanda, where are you going?” She asked while scanning my look.

“Kylie, I want to see Luke’s hotel. Can you ask someone to assist me or bring me there?” I said while walking through the door.

“Why you suddenly wants to go there?” She question me.

“Why not? He said I can check it anytime I want.” I lied, just so she won’t suspect me of my real reason.

After half an hour I reached Luke’s hotel with the help of Fritz chauffer. I didn’t waste my time to enter and search for Luke. I asked the receptionist to where I could find him but she refuse to tell me since I didn’t have an appointment with their boss. I was so desperate, annoyed and irritated knowing that Luke is staying here somewhere with another woman.

There’s no other way, I need to call him again so he could instruct someone to assist me. So I fished out my phone and dial his number and after four rings he answers.

“Hello?” He answered.

“Luke, I am here at your hotel lobby. Can you please ask someone to assist me or take me to where you are staying right now?” I said.

“Okay, I’ll asks one of the manager to assist you.” He said without a second thought.

I am surprised that he agreed in an instant and after a couple of minutes, a stunning lady manager approached me and asked me to follow her in Luke’s office. My heart is pounding so loud that I think everyone could hear it inside the elevator. I’m on the edge of crying, my emotions are kicking me. ‘I don’t want him with any other girl.’ That’s what my heart is screaming right now, but my mind said ‘It was me who pushed him away and made him go with another girl.’

When we reached his office she knocks three times and then open the door for me. I saw Luke inside with a woman sitting on a chair in front of his desk. She’s facing her back at me, so I couldn’t see who she is. I felt a little pang of jealousy so I went straight to where Luke is standing at and give him a passionate kiss that surprise him.

“How’s your day babe?” I asked while I hug him.

“Baby, I’m with” He didn’t have the chance to finish what he’s about to tell when I cut him half way.

“With whom?” I asked and turn to face the mysterious woman I want to know.

“Sweetheart, she’s Ms. Mc Lean right? The famous designer in New York.” The sophisticated woman said.

“Yes mom, she’s Amanda. Sugar, meet my mom Beatrice.” He replied, introducing us with one another.

“Darling, I can sense that you will become my daughter in law the moment I saw my son’s eyes sparks as you enter this room.” She said smiling so sweetly, she pulls me from Luke’s embrace and gave me a hug.

All my confidence collapse, as I realized what I’ve done. If only I control my jealousy, I won’t be in an awkward situation like this. Now how will I escape this charade, when I’m the only one who dig my own pit of trouble?
