서른째 왕관 (30)       “You’re just like your mom.” Jae Kyung had the ability to dodge the hit but she just stood there with her head low as her dad kept on hitting her head with her book. “You’re good for nothing just like your mom! You did nothing right, Kim Jae Kyung!” “I can’t believe you still can’t get it right! We’re already days to go! What the heck!” Prince Yi Eul said, frustrated. “You couldn’t do well at this rate, Kim Jae Kyung! You’re no good!” That made Jae Kyung stopped in her tracks and kept her head low. The whole room went silent after Prince Yi Eul said that. I messed up... I don’t understand why I always messed up. No one dares to break that silence. It took Prince Yi Eul half a minute to realize that he went overboard. Even if he didn’t want to feel it, he actually felt guilty even if he didn’t want to because damn, he’s just being honest! It’s not even his fault! He looked at Jae Kyung who silently stood in the middle of the room with her head low. “Uh, Kim Jae Kyung, you see...” “I’m... I’m sorry...” Prince Yi Eul stopped and his eyes widen when he saw Kim Jae Kyung’s shoulders shaking and saw her cheeks started to wet. She’s crying. She’s f*****g crying. Prince Yi Eul’s mouth agape and his eyes even widen more. His guilt feeling suddenly crept on his system when he even heard Jae Kyung sobbing. “I’m sorry, Your Highness. I’ll really do my best this time,” Jae Kyung said, trying to suppress her sobs as she kneeled down to pick the broken bowl but before she could do so, Prince Yi Eul pulled her up. “Don’t pick it up,” he said. He stared at her but the latter just averted her gaze. He had so many questions in mind but he chose not to ask. Instead, he cupped her left cheek and as soon as she looked at him, he gently wiped his tears. Prince Yi Eul never cared about anyone’s feelings but Da Hyun. He didn’t care if he’ll hurt anyone’s feelings because that’s how he is. He never felt guilty because he knows that he’s always right. He’s a monarch. A royal. A Crown Prince since birth. But for unknown reasons, he felt these unwelcome feelings not to Da Hyun... but to a complete stranger. “Mochis...” “Eh?” Jae Kyung muttered, totally clueless on what the heck the Crown Prince is doing to her right now. “I...” he trailed off. “I bought you mochis.”     Jae Kyung’s eyes sparkled as soon as she opened the box of delicious mochis in front of her. They’re now in the pavilion having an evening tea as well as mochis at their table. Before she knew it, she’s already hungry. She badly wants to eat everything inside the box. But she couldn’t help but wonder... “Uh, Your Highness?” Jae Kyung asked as he looked at Prince Yi Eul who’s tapping on his phone. “Hmm?” “Umm, is this really for me?” “I told you, it’s for you.” “Uh... why did you bought these mochis for me?” she finally asked. Prince Yi Eul stopped scrolling and put his phone down the table then he looked at her. “You asked for it this morning, right? You said you want to eat mochis.” “This morning?” Jae Kyung asked. She, then, tried to recall their conversation earlier.   “Jeonha, the princess consort needs to do her training right now,” one of the servants said. Jae Kyung turned her head back at Prince Yi Eul as he tilted his head. “You go now.” The former pouted, almost jutted her lower lip. “Can I just have a snack? I want to eat mochis.” Prince Yi Eul gave her a look. “Go now.” Jae Kyung sighed as she flaunted a sad expression on her face. “Man, you’re acting like a tyrant from those manhwas I read.” “Don’t compare me to those fictional characters. You go now.” Jae Kyung just pouted as she walked towards her room’s (which, technically, is one of the guest rooms of the traditional House of Yi) door. She was then assisted by the royal servants when she went out of her room.   “Ah! Right!” she exclaimed as she finally remembered the conversation earlier. “So, you remembered that? I was just babbling...” “Of course, I do. I’m not stupid like you, though.” Jae Kyung frowned. “Hey, I’m not!” Prince Yi Eul pushed Jae Kyung’s forehead using his index finger. “Just hurry up and eat.” “Okay, I’ll eat since I’m already hungry,” Jae Kyung said as she grinned. She, then, picked the pink mocha and eat it happily. “Thank you for the food! Though... I was still wondering why you bought this for me, though.” “Of course I could because I’m awesome unlike those tyrant fictional characters that you’re talking about,” Prince Yi Eul said proudly. Jae Kyung almost snorted after she heard him saying that. Pwah! He believed that comparison?! Hahahahahahaha what the heck! I never thought he’ll take it seriously, though. But to be honest, he really reminded me of those tyrant emperors from isekai manhwas that I read. “And of course, I don’t want to see you accepting other food from other people besides me,” he said. Jae Kyung’s hand stopped mid-air, quite shock from what she heard from the Crown Prince. Wait, is he talking about... what? He saw Prince Yi Ryeo giving food to me? Wait, is he jealous? Jae Kyung couldn’t help but silently gasp. No way... “What will the people around us think? Especially the queen if she’ll know that I’m not taking care of my future wife? She’ll get suspicious about us. Jae Kyung’s shoulders drooped down after hearing the Crown Prince's response. Yeah right, talk about false hope though. “Yeah right,” she muttered as she ate another mochi. “You have to eat up too, Your Highness.” “Nah, I’m good. I know that mochis are not enough for you.” “Are you saying that I’m a glutton?” “Sort of, yeah.” Jae Kyung gasped dramatically. “How dare you?” She was about to hit him with a fan but Prince Yi Eul raised his hand. “Wait, HOW DARE YOU? Are you going to hit His Royal Highness?” “Your Highness, yeah right!” Jae Kyung hit Prince Yi Eul’s palm which earned an ‘aw!’ from the Crown Prince and she just laughed and stuck her tongue out to the Crown Prince. “You brat—!” Prince Yi Eul stretched both of Jae Kyung’s cheeks which he earned an ‘ouch!’ from the latter and she kept on slapping his hands but he just laughed and kept on stretching her cheeks. It seems like the Crown Prince’s laugh is contagious that she couldn’t help but laugh as well. “Ouch! Stawp it yourb going to swetch my fashe mor!!!” “Say ‘Your awesome, Your Highness first’.” “Nowb wayb!” “How dare you defy His Royal Highness, you brat.” “Jweona gaebhul!” They’re totally indulged in their teasing games that they didn’t even notice that someone is watching them.
