CHAPTER 48.5
Jae Kyung was beaming happily as they finally went inside the car. The event ended and of course, she kept on babbling and talking to Prince Yi Eul about her conversation with the author. She didn’t even wait for the Crown Prince to remove his hoody jacket because she kept on tapping his arm as she speaks.
“When it’s my turn already, she looked at me. She looked at me in the eyes and smiled at me. Her smile is so precious then she outstretched her hand and she gets the books and signed all of them! I was the only one in my batch that had the complete series of her books plus the remastered!” Jae Kyung said as she outstretched her hand, imitating what Jace Kate Howling did to her. “Then she asked me how’s my day like I’m her long time friend and of course I said it was great because I finally saw her in flesh. She even asked me if I have had a hard time traveling to the event and I told her I didn’t since I said my husband drove me to the mall.”
Prince Yi Eul kept listening and staring at her like an attentive kid.
“I really said everything that I wanted to say to her in my heart’s content. All of it! She even asked me about my name and what do I want her to write on the front page and I even said that ‘I’m Jae Kyung Kim and you can write whatever you want for me!’” she told him. Prince Yi Eul couldn’t help but mentally amused by Jae Kyung talking to her favorite author.
Jae Kyung happily showed him the front page of the Book One of Barry Peters. “Look what she wrote! She wrote it in Korean, telling me that she’s thankful of me supporting her and that I should never give up on my dreams as well! Isn’t she amazing?”
Prince Yi Eul couldn’t help but ask. “Are you happy?”
She paused at the question. She didn’t actually expect it that’s why she couldn’t help but examine the Crown Prince’s expression, thinking that he’s just being sarcastic towards her.
But he’s not. He seemed really genuine asking her the question.
She smiled and nodded. “Yes, I am so happy.”
Subconsciously, Prince Yi Eul smiled as he put his hand over her head.
He’s smiling. Jae Kyung stared at him in awe. He really is smiling.
When Prince Yi Eul noticed how Jae Kyung stared at him in astonishment, he hastily removed his hand and changed his expression into a poker face. “Do you think you can escape your job just because I let you do what you want? Hah, think again.”
Here he goes again… which made Jae Kyung pout. “Don’t worry, I didn’t forget it.”
“Good,” Prince Yi Eul muttered and looked at the car’s window, seeing the trees and buildings come and go in his sight.
Of course, silence invaded the spaces between the two of them.
All of the sudden, Jae Kyung tapped Prince Yi Eul’s arm. Maybe the Crown Prince was already used to her antics that’s why he didn’t flinch anymore. “Hey, Your Highness.”
“What?” he frowned at the former.
She grinned at him. “Want to go somewhere?”
Prince Yi Eul sighed. “I told you, we can’t go to the public that easy.”
“I know but trust me, it’ll be fun. Since you let me go to the book signing event, I’ll take you somewhere as well.”
Prince Yi Eul was hesitant, but he still asked her. “Are you sure?”
Jae Kyung just grinned at him. “Yes, I’ll take you somewhere. Somewhere that you’ll gonna have some fun.”
