마흔일곱의 왕관 (47)       “So now we’re here ladies and gentlemen for our much-awaited interview with our royal couple, South Korea’s Crown Prince Yi Eul and Princess Kim Jae Kyung,” the talk show host bowed at the two of them. “Thank you so much for letting us interview you, Your Highnesses.” Jae Kyung was wearing her Jae Kyung wore green dangui and a scarlet seuran chima. Her hair was fixed in jjeokjin meorin in which the hair is brought back and tied into a bun. A long hairpin which was shaped in phoenix which is bongjam was used to fasten the bun. As of the Crown Prince Yi Eul, he’s wearing a blue gonryongpo and sajoeryongbo on the front, back and shoulders. The dragon’s toes are visible on his left shoulder: four for him as the Crown Prince. He’s also wearing an ikseonggwan—the actual crown that is mainly depicted as being black in color. Of course, he’s the Crown Prince after all. They’re currently inside one of the Royal House of Yi to conduct the interview in which Queen Jang Eun allowed them to do so. Jae Kyung was silently fidgeting her fingers and she gasped when she felt the Crown Prince’s hand, his palm already onto her palm and his fingers intertwined hers. She could feel the warmth from his hand and strangely, that actually made her feel better. “It’s been such an honor to see His and Her Highnesses up close. The whole South Korea was actually happy about your marriage and oh! You must be aware of people, especially teenagers making fanpages and fanclubs for you two,” the interviewer said. That actually made Crown Prince Yi Eul chuckle as Jae Kyung actually laughed awkwardly which she hoped that the interviewer nor the cameraman didn’t notice it. She actually made a face mentally when she saw how Prince Yi Eul smiled at the interviewer. Huh, he is such a good actor. “So, Princess Jae Kyung, you’ve been called as the ‘modern Cinderella’ and everyone actually made you as their inspirations in creating arts and literature such as this new Korean drama which was actually based on the two of you…” Jae Kyung was actually caught off guard by that. She was already aware that this will be asked of her but she didn’t expect such information. Whoa, so I’m not the only one who’s doing stuff like that. “They did? Jeongmal?” she asked, she’s genuinely surprised about it. “That was really unexpected.” “The next thing we knew, you’ll be going to guest in that drama,” Prince Yi Eul butted in. Of course, he’ll be going to pull such an act as if he’s teasing his wife because people find it romantic. Bro, my life right now is a whole-ass drama it’s already tiring as f**k. “Hey, I could be a celebrity, you know?” she also pulled a joke. “But jokes aside, that was really, really unexpected but I really appreciate it.” Yes, I legit could be a celebrity right now. The interviewer chuckled at them and spoke. “People actually like and love you because yes, you’re an ordinary person and you became a living princess from a fairytale who actually married a prince. How does it feel, Your Highness or how did your love story start? That’s what actually people were waiting—to hear your love story.” “Uh, it was actually a long story but let’s just make it short,” Jae Kyung laughed awkwardly but she tried that it will not be going to be noticeable to everyone. “How should I start this? I first met His Highness in Gyeokbokgung Palace. That was actually tough for us to enter since there are so many news outlets and reporters around who were also there to cover His Highness’s arrival. That was the first time he came back to Korea after years of studying and everyone was so excited about it and I was assigned to cover and interview him that time…” “It was actually love at first sight,” Prince Yi Eul interrupted. Jae Kyung slightly looked at him. “She was actually a journalist assigned to cover my arrival as well as interviewing me. I was quite surprised that out of nowhere, she suddenly popped in front of me holding a microphone for an interview…” “Your Highness, you shouldn’t say that. It’s embarrassing!” Goddamn it, I will really murder you in your sleep, you stupid prince! “What’s embarrassing about it, Your Highness? I really find you cute at that time.” I will really cut your tongue I swear to gosh. “Oh,” the interviewer muttered with a wide smile on her face. Jae Kyung also noticed how the cameramen or even the staff around them were also listening attentively to the two of them. And what? Love at first sight? Huh, love at first sight my ass. He almost cursed me because he hates me just because I’m a journalist. That’s how shallow he is. “And on the night of my arrival here in Korea, I was actually strolling around alone, without my bodyguards which is really, really dangerous and because of that, those bad people who were actually after me almost harmed me and believe it or not…,” Prince Yi Eul turned his head towards Jae Kyung who was now looking at him in awe. “…Who would really think that a simple journalist like her will bravely risk her life to save me?” “Wow, Her Highness was really that brave.” “I know, I know,” Prince Yi Eul nodded in approval. “Everyone will think or ask ‘she’s just a commoner. Why did His Highness choose to marry her? There are so many women around him that could fit to be the Royal Princess Consort’.” The interviewer nodded. “They may be fine, qualified, and fit to be my princess, my wife but I actually don’t care,” Prince Yi Eul said with a smile. “I don’t care if she’s a noble or a commoner. Marrying her was actually a risk because we don’t belong to the same status but that didn’t matter to me, actually. Having Jae Kyung with me as my wife who doesn’t just protect me but also guides me, accepts me, and loves me for who I am. Who was willing to make this prince fall for her and make her his wife and will always be with him for the rest of his life.” Jae Kyung was totally caught off guard that she couldn’t help but shut her mouth because she couldn’t say a word anymore. Why did he say that? She couldn’t help but wonder. Those words were not written in the script.     “Thank you so much for letting us interview His and Her Highnesses.” “You’re much welcome.” As soon as Jae Kyung finally went inside an empty room, she heaved a sigh and let go of her chima. “Finally, it’s already finished.” “You really looked like you’re dying during the interview,” Prince Yi Eul couldn’t help but comment as he took his ikseonggwan off his head in which she could only see his topknot. “I’m not used to being interviewed. I am the one who interviews. It was actually tiring,” Jae Kyung complained. “Well, all thanks to me that we ended early.” Jae Kyung paused and turned her head to the Crown Prince once again. Right, I have to ask him about it. She was about to ask him something when she felt her phone vibrating. She’s sneaky that she hid her phone inside her yellow jeogori that was under her dangui. She silently pulled her phone out and read the message that she received. Her eyes widen as her hand went over her mouth after she saw the message. “AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!”
