오십 여덟의 왕관 (59—OVA)
“YOU’RE SAFE NOW.”
Romina’s gaze settled on the man who’s holding her right now. Her eyes settled from his thin, pinkish lips to his angel-like, gorgeous face to his hair as dark as ebony that has horns on it then to his red eyes—
Wait, what? Horns and red eyes?
She gasped when she saw huge, black wings flapping from his back.
“W-Who… who are you?”
The guy smirked at her that she felt major goosebumps. “Me? I’m your guardian… from the underworld.”
Her eyes widen.
“My guardian from what?!”
“From the underworld,” he pointed to the ground.
Romina gasped once again and hastily pushed the guy away. “You’re a…”
He’s… he’s a demon.
“Yes, I am.”
Romina creased her brows, looking at the mischievous demon in front of her. Did he just read my mind?
She turned her head towards her stalker who’s now lying on the ground, eyes wide open and terrified.
Like he saw something evil, something hellish.
Romina looked at the guy in front of her once again and by the call of her adrenaline rush, she shrieked and run away from the guy—from the demon.
There’s no way a demon is the one who saved me! They’re evil, he’s evil! (a/n: this is an excerpt from my novel “Guardian Evil” which is also available here in Dreame.)
“What are you doing here?”
Jae Kyung almost felt her soul just left her body when she heard that someone is talking. If she didn’t actually know who’s the owner of the voice, she might actually faint on the spot.
She’s currently on the balcony since she couldn’t sleep so she just let herself indulge in writing in peace.
Which was, unfortunately, ruined by this one guy who loves to annoy her every time.
She turned her head to Prince Yi Eul who was casually leaning on the balcony’s door frame. She closed her notebook while glaring at the Crown Prince.
“Knock, will you?” she hissed.
“Uh, why should I? This is my house, you lazy bum,” Prince Yi Eul told her, raising his left brow up just to intentionally tease her.
“Yeah, this is your house, yes I’m aware of that, Your Highness but knocking is a way of respect to the ones who are actually using the place right now. You should at least do that,” Jae Kyung fired back.
Prince Yi Eul knocked. “Can I come in, gongju-mama?”
Jae Kyung once again glared at him, almost throwing her notebook towards him that she almost made him dock. “Stop that, it’s annoying, you know?”
Prince Yi Eul chuckled. “At last, you’re back.”
She frowned at him as she kept on staring at him until he finally sat beside her. “It’s been a week, you know? It’s no fun not seeing you got stressed out nagging at me and picking up a fight with you.”
“You’re actually the one who loves to pick a fight with me.”
And here I really thought you love seeing me in a miserable state, you sadistic prince.
Prince Yi Eul showed his index finger and said. “Touché.”
“What are you doing here?” she asked. “Can’t sleep?”
“Yeah. I think I took so much coffee today,” Prince Yi Eul responded. “Or maybe these bitchass officials kept pissing me off nonstop.”
“Huh.”
“Hey, you’re always telling me you write novels and such but you didn’t actually tell me about it,” he told her. His eyes settled on an old pink notebook on the table. “You’re writing it up, don’t you?”
“Yep!” she grinned as she opened her notebook in front of him. “This is just a draft but I’m really planning to publish this on my platform soon."
He creased his brows. “Bet it’s another cliché love story that every teenager love to swoon and squeal over,” Jae Kyung immediately glared at him but of course, he ignored it. “So, what’s the story all about.”
“Huh, awhile ago, you said that it’s another cliché love story that every teenager loves to swoon and squeal over. I don’t think you’ll like it so I won’t tell you.”
“Just to remind you, Kim Jae Kyung, that I’ll be the one to find ways for you to step on the publishing stardom so of course, I should know what kind of stories you’ll be going to pass to the publishing whatsoever.”
Right, it’s in the contract.
Jae Kyung slightly glared at him then sighed. “Alright, alright. I’m going to tell you,” she coughed and cleared her throat then opened her notebook as she read the outline that she wrote there. “When humans reached 18 years old, they can actually summon their guardian angels to guide and guard them in their lives. This is what actually Romina Cristi, a high school student, has been anticipating as soon as she turns 18…”
“Pause. Pause,” Prince Yi Eul muttered, raising his hand. “Are you using foreign names and settings?”
“What? It’s easier to make alternate universe about it, you know?” of course, Jae Kyung couldn’t hide that she’s actually annoyed with him right now. “Should I continue or not?”
Prince Yi Eul put his hand down and nodded. “Okay, continue.”
“Ahem. But the moment she summons her supposed to be guardian angel the moment she was in total danger in the hands of her stalker, she suddenly summons a demon, out of nowhere, to protect her from the danger her stalker was about to cause. Really puzzled about why the heck she summoned a demon instead of her guardian angel, it turns out that the demon she summoned, named Luciel, is actually what God assigned for her to guard her for a while for the reason that guardian angels were “outnumbered” because of the rapid developments to the human civilization as well as the rapid rise of the human population which made angels totally occupied. So, God convinced the King of the underworld to borrow some of his demons to guard and guide some humans, disregarding the ultimate power of demons on temptations until his angels will be occupied enough to guard humans. And yes, unfortunately, Romina is one of those humans—with a demon guardian assigned to her.”
“Huh. Not bad. It’s quite a good one, though,” Prince Yi Eul commented. “But I still bet that it’s another cliché love story that every teenager—especially girls—love to swoon and squeal over. A damsel in distress being saved by a knight in shining armor whatever it is… yeah, same old love.” (a/n: this is an excerpt from my novel “Guardian Evil” which is also available here in Dreame.)
“Huh. But admit it, you’ll love this kind of genre, though,” Jae Kyung pouted.
“You know what? Whatever you say, you dumbass. Just finish that up and go to bed,” Prince Yi Eul told her then he stood up, leaving her alone at peace. He once again turned his head towards her who’s now writing seriously on her notebook. He shook his head and walked back inside the house.
“You’re safe now.”
Jae Kyung’s gaze settled on the boy who’s lending his hand to her right now. By the looks of his expensive clothes and the way he looked in front of her right now, he’s definitely a chaebol.
She actually felt shy about how ugly and rubbish she looked at right now—with all her messy hair, dirty old dress and old slippers, she could actually pass as a beggar right now.
“W-Who… who are you?”
He grinned at her. “Me? I’m a hero… from the palace.”
“From the palace?”
“Yep, because I am a Crown Prince and I’m going to save you!”
“You’re going to… save me…” Jae Kyung muttered in her sleep as she hugged the Crown Prince’s shoulders tight. Prince Yi Eul looked at her as he walked to the silent wing of the house while carrying her like a bride.
He just flaunted a tiny smile and silently carrying her while she was asleep.
