Dealing Prince Arrogant
Chapter 8
“We meet again, lady.”
Ji Hye couldn’t believe in her eyes who’s her seeing right now. She’s standing next to the Crown Prince yet her attention is all over the man in front of her right now.
Ji Hye gasped and with a trembling finger, she pointed to the guy. “Y-You… that guy—!”
The guy smiled at her. “We met again, Ji Hye-ssi. I’m Prince Ryu Jin.”
“We met again, Kim Jae Kyung-ssi. I’m Prince Yi Ryeo.”
Jae Kyung didn’t know how to respond. She’s just too shocked to internalize what’s happening right now.
Who would thought that the guy she saved from thugs is also the same guy she’s facing right now.
And not just a “guy”, but this guy is a prince. A FREAKING PRINCE.
What in the world… the world is so small, indeed.
Princess Chae Rin creased her brows as she averted her gaze from Prince Yi Eul and Jae Kyung to her son. “In the alley?”
“Ah, yes, goongju-mama. This is the lady that saved my life, as I’ve told you.”
“You didn’t tell me you met Yi Ryeo,” said Prince Yi Eul in a low, authoritative voice.
“I’m even surprised at seeing him here. I didn’t know that he’s a prince and he’s your brother!” Jae Kyung responded in a voice as well.
“God, you’re a Journalist and you didn’t know everything about the Royal Family?” if Prince Yi Eul has the ability to facepalm, then he already did earlier. “And he’s not my brother. He’s my cousin.”
“I’m sorry! I didn’t know!”
“Agassi,” Jae Kyung and Prince Yi Eul simultaneously looked at Princess Chae Rin as she bowed towards them. Jae Kyung hastily yet awkwardly bowed towards the princess. “On behalf of my son, I want to thank you for saving him. This kid of mine is really troublesome that he just went out without bringing guards with him and strolled around Seoul all by himself.”
“Goongju-mama, I did wear a disguise for people not to notice me.”
“And yet you almost put yourself in danger.”
“Joesonghamnida, mama.”
I don’t think wearing a suit and looking so rich is a disguise, actually. He even attracted thugs. Jae Kyung couldn’t help but comment mentally.
“Ah, you are…” the Princess slightly gestured her hand towards Jae Kyung, as if pointing at her.
“She’s my personal assistant, mama,” Prince Yi Eul answered in her stead.
“Personal assistant? But you already have so many royal butlers and maids, royal servants and you even have a secretary, jeonha,” Princess Chae Rin said. She eyed Jae Kyung that the latter couldn’t help but awkwardly bow towards her.
“Ah yes, mama, but I still hired her because of her potential,” Prince Yi Eul gave her a professional smile.
Princess Chae Rin smiled at him as well. “Well, we can’t help it. Might as well, we start eating, shall we? Before the food will go cold. This is the first time after so many years we eat together so might as well, savor the moment.
“Absolutely,” Prince Yi Eul responded as the four of them sat on their respective seats and started a conversation as they dug into the different kinds of classic Korean cuisines in front of them that Jae Kyung wants to devour and eat so bad.
“Wow, I ate so much. I felt so full,” Jae Kyung said to herself as she rubbed her belly and sighed in contentment while walking out of the restroom. I don’t like these kinds of fancy dining because I prefer eating chicken and drinking in pojangmacha with my friends than going to fancy dining like this.
The world of the rich—most especially the world of the royal blood is indeed different from us.
“I didn’t really expect to meet you again,” Jae Kyung’s eyes settled on Prince Yi Ryeo who is now standing in front of her. “Especially meeting you here.”
“O-Oh,” Jae Kyung muttered in shock as she hastily removed strands of her hair from her face and bowed in front of the Prince. “Go-Good evening, wangjangnim.”
“Nah, don’t be too formal. Just call me Ryeo,” Yi Ryeo smiled at her that she couldn’t help but stare at him in awe.
Wow, he’s not just handsome but also a well-mannered prince.
Unlike the prince that I knew.
“I-I—” she couldn’t help but stutter as she bowed again. “J-Joesonghamnida, mama. Back there, I really didn’t know you’re a prince and you’re related to Crown Prince Yi Eul. I’m sorry for my bold behavior this morning.”
“No, no. You don’t have to. I should be thankful that you saved me that time,” Yi Ryeo slightly scratched his nape. “In fact, it’s also my fault for strolling around without my guards. It’s just that, I want to stroll around Seoul because it’s been years since the last time I came back here since, you know, I studied overseas for a long time. So don’t worry, you did nothing wrong.”
“Ah, hehehe. I just did what’s really the right thing to do that time,” Jae Kyung smiled shyly.
“I was about to search for you, actually. To, you know, invite you for dinner as a token of gratitude for saving me. But I didn’t really expect that you’re working with *hyeongnim. How many years did you work for him?” (*hyeongnim or hyeong is ‘older brother’ in Korean and the ones who will call that are males/boys.)
“Uh… I just worked for him recently. About weeks ago, mama,” she responded. (*mama is a formal word means “Your Highness”. *jeonha is addressed for Kings and Crown Princes)
“More like he forced me to work for him,” Jae Kyung really wants to say this but she just kept it for herself.
“Wow, that’s indeed nice,” Yi Ryeo said as he grinned. “And it’s also nice that I met you and I could meet you more in the future. I really wish we could hang out more. You seem nice to talk to. I really don’t have friends, to begin with either.”
“I-I can be your friend!” Jae Kyung said in such enthusiasm that she even raised her hand. When she realized what she did, she immediately put her hand down and started fidgeting and stuttering. “I-I mean, I-I can be y-your f-friend, Your Highness. I-If you want to.”
Yi Ryeo smiled warmly at her. “Sure. We can be friends, Kim Jae Kyung-ssi.”
“O-Oh, you can just call me Jae Kyung, Your Highness.”
“Really? Then you can just call me Yi Ryeo since we’re already friends.”
“Oh, no, no, I can’t do that, Your Highness. I might disrespect you.”
“No, you’re not. You can call me Yi Ryeo.”
“But Your High—”
“Call me Yi Ryeo.”
“Yi-Yi Ryeo.”
“That’s more like it.”
As soon as the Crown Prince entered the backseat of his car, he looked around and saw that Jae Kyung is not there. “What makes that woman too long?” he then tapped his driver as well as his bodyguard. “Hey, the two of you. Can you fetch Jae Kyung? I badly want to go home. I’m already tired. Tell her that if she’ll not gonna hurry up, we’ll leave her.”
“Ye, jeonha,” his driver and his bodyguard left the car in search of Jae Kyung, leaving him alone in the car. His bodyguards were also in their respective cars, waiting for him to leave.
“Ugh, that troublesome woman,” Prince Yi Eul sighed as he leaned on the backseat and closed his eyes. Before he could fully fall asleep, he smelled something awful. Something that makes him dizzy and suffocates at the same time. He opened his eyes and saw smoke around him.
“f**k! What the f**k is this?!” he coughed and covered his nose using his arm and tried to fan away the smoke around him using his hand. He couldn’t think straight anymore that he couldn’t have the strength to unlock the window and just kept on thumping the car’s window with all his might.
“Let me out! Let me out! f**k! Let me out!” Prince Yi Eul kept on shouting as he tried to open and thumped the window.
Someone, someone let me out of here!
