Chapter Fourteen... Leaving Behind Her Past

1435 Words
*Garrett POV* Looking down at her face as I feel all her memories coming back to her, I just want to scream out loud. They took my sweet girl away from me and locked me away so that I couldn't save her. They had erased her memories of me, but I had given her that necklace without knowing that it saved our memories inside. She was all grown up now and even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I wanted to scoop her up and run away with her. Hell, I still might do that. She was mine, and they had no right to take her away from me. I remember their words that day. They ran so clearly through my mind since the day they had spoken them. "It can not be! She is the one. No, oh God, no." They knew Addison was mine. They said it themselves. She was my mate. I couldn't even comprehend or understand their words until after I was trapped inside that infernal door. I lost all control after that. How could I have not listened to my sweet girl? She had felt it. She even tried to convince me, but I didn't listen. How come I couldn't feel the pull? Was there something blocking it from me? "Because we are fûcking idiots, Garrett. That's why. Please let me shift and see my sweet girl. I have missed her so much. She came here for her mom, but she saw me in those dreams. She came for us too. I just know it. We must take her away from here. I feel like she is in a lot of danger and we need to protect her at all costs." Asmodeus growled with frustration. "No, you will wait. We have to figure out what is happening with her but make no mistake, we will be taking her with us." I said sternly. Asmodeus just snarled angrily and with great annoyance, but he turned and disappeared into the back of my mind. I felt her hand trembling as she reached up and placed it on my face. "Garrett, is that really you?" she whispered roughly. I closed my eyes and leaned into her touch. "Yes, sweet girl, it's really me," I say roughly. She begins sobbing uncontrollably. "I thought I'd lost you both forever. After they took my memories away I felt like an empty shell, like a huge part of me was missing. When I woke up I was in my own bed and my parents made me believe that I was sick. I can't believe how stupid I was." she began talking but towards the end, her voice began to rise and she was yelling in anger. "Shhh, calm down little one. We are here now, just be calm." I said trying to calm her. "Let me see Asmodeus. Please, I need to make him understand that it wasn't his fault that day. I need to tell him how much I tried to fight, but those hooded figures' songs were too strong for me." She said but then she gasped sharply as tears began running down her face, "I am not completely sure, but I think my parents were there that night. Now that I think about it when I got here last night, they had mentioned something about someone not needing to know I was here and that it would be bad if he found out, then my mom sang me a song and suddenly I forgot what they said and fell asleep. I only remember now because of this necklace." Hmmm... if her parents were there that night, then that could mean that they are witches. The true witches that locked me in this forsaken place when I fell from heaven after the Great War. I wanted revenge and I wanted to destroy them. What better way than to take their daughter, the one true heir of their bloodline, and mix it with mine? Oh, I was so evil, but even though I wanted my revenge, I also wanted Addison. She was mine. I was her mate, and even though I didn't understand how it was possible, it was still true. "Come with me. Let's leave from here." I said softly. "W-what? Leave? Right now?" she said hesitantly. "Yes, come with me," I said more sternly. "Oh, Garrett, I want to, but I can't. If I leave my parents will be in danger and... he... will find me and hurt me more," she whispered in fear. WHAT? "Who is going to hurt you? And who the fûck is he?" I gritted out. I felt Asmodeus fight for control because he was completely livid that anyone would hurt our sweet girl. "My... my...h-husband," she whispered as her whole body trembled with fear. Her husband? "You're married?" I growled angrily, "You let someone else touch what was mine to take?" Her lips quivered and tears fell down her cheeks rapidly, "I... d-didn't h-have a c-choice. My parents arranged for the marriage once I was eighteen and forced me to comply. They weren't even at the wedding. I was signed away and given to Derrick. He is a cruel man. My parents do not believe anything I have told them about him. They said I was making up lies, but I wasn't. He hurts me so much. I don't want to go back to him, but I am afraid he will kill my parents and do harm to you. I could never live with myself if something happened to you or Asmodeus and it was my fault." She lifted her shirt slightly and turned around to show me her back. I inhaled sharply when I noticed fresh marks all over her body. Some were pink and some were not. I very carefully ran my finger over one and she whimpered painfully. "He gave me these the night before I left to come back home. He threw a party and he and all his friends tortured me until I passed out. He brought me back four times before they finished. There was so much of my blood on the floor that I could barely move. Once my father called later, I begged for him to let me come help with my sick mom, but I also wanted to come because I kept having dreams about a yellow-eyed person. I now know it was Asmodeus, but at the time, I didn't. I wanted to find out who could talk to me and visit with me in my dreams and when I was awake as well. I agreed to have this bracelet put on by Derrick to track me, and that was the only way I was allowed to come." she struggled out. Without thinking I slammed my lips down on hers and held her face with my hands. I licked her lips for entry and she sighed contentedly and opened up for me. I ravaged her mouth and the high I was feeling from her taste was exquisite. She tasted of innocence and the sweet nectar of the gods. I moaned in her mouth and knew I had to let go so we could breathe. I released her from my grasp and she blinked a few times and placed her fingers on her swollen lips. "Garrett... that... was... amazing." she whispered in awe, "I have never felt it like that before. Kiss me again? Please." I chuckled darkly, "Oh trust me, sweet girl, there will be more of that where we are going, but make no mistake, we are leaving here together. You are mine, Addison. I won't wait anymore. I'm taking you with me whether you want me to or not. This," I growl out as I rip the bracelet from her wrist and grind it until it was dust, then dropping it to the ground, "has no control over you. I am your everything. It is my place to love you, hurt you, and pleasure you. Me. Do you hear me? I am the only one who gets to decide. You are all grown up and it's time to show you my true self. I hope you are prepared for this demon my sweet girl." Then I picked her up and embraced her, then chanted a few words, and watched as the portal opened up for me. "Time to go, little one," I said calmly. "W-Where a-are y-you taking me?" she says cautiously. "To the Demon Realm, of course. Hold on tight." I said smirking as I walked through the portal and we vanished out of sight.
