Chapter Ten... The Garden Part Two

"How am I healed so fast, just by drinking your... blood?" I said curiously. He looked down at me and smiled softly. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you, little one," he said softly. I raised my eyebrow at him defiantly and answered, "Try me." He just chuckled lightly and set me down on the grass. "If I tell you what you want me to tell you fine, but then I have to show you my true appearance, and that might scare you. I don't want to scare you, little one. I just feel a strong connection with you, and I don't understand why. You are just a child. We don't usually have connections with anyone, and truthfully, I am just thankful to be free from there." Garrett said calmly. "Were you the one playing that beautiful music that called me here? I was asleep in my room and heard a beautiful enchanting tune calling me to come, and it led me here. Was it you?" I asked cautiously. Garrett looked at me in confusion. "Music? An enchanting tune? What did it sound like?" he asked curiously. So I began humming the tune. As I hummed, I watched quietly as his eyes widened with shock, and he began shaking his head slightly. "I d-don't understand. How do you know that tune? My mother used to sing me that song many, many years ago before the Great War. No human has ever heard that song before. That's the song of the Angels." Wait... did he just say human? Wasn't he a human as well? Great War? There hasn't been a war here in Scotland in forever. Okay... wait a minute... did he just say, Angel? "Why did you say human as if you weren't one yourself and what Great War? Song of the Angels? I am so confused." I said as I grabbed my head and shook it slightly. I felt his presence near me suddenly, and he placed his hand on my shoulder. "Forgive me, little one. I meant no harm. I shouldn't have said what I did. I said more than your little virgin ears should have heard." I snapped my eyes at him and then narrowed them at him. "What's that supposed to mean? I am not a child." I said angrily. He just chuckled and raised his eyebrows back at me as I did to him. "Okay, so, maybe I am only twelve, and I am technically a child, but that doesn't mean I want to be treated like one. I am more grown up than you could ever imagine." I scoffed as I folded my arms in front of my chest. "Maybe I won't come back." I pouted and then looked away. Just that thought caused my heart great pain. What the heck? He sighs roughly and then stands up and moves away from me. "Addison, I am a fallen angel who fell from Heaven after the Great War and was cursed to become a demon for my disobedience and disloyalty. Lucifer had promised us many things, but after my descent here to Earth, strong witches trapped me in that mountain door that led to a very lonely and depressing dimension. Thankfully, before they found me, I was able to create this beautiful garden to keep me company. It has been here since the beginning of time, just like me." I look at him and want to laugh. Does he seriously think I am going to fall for that? "You can't seriously think that I would believe-" I started to say, but was interrupted when Garrett's body began to shift into something else. I gasped sharply as his whole body began changing. First his legs, then his arms and chest, and then finally his face. Oh yeah, did I mention that he grew like twice the size he was before? His whole body was covered in leather-like skin, and it was purple. It was almost like the skin of a snake, only a little smoother. He had claws on his hands and feet. Sharp-looking ones. His face was very intense, and his eyes were as yellow as I had ever seen. Well, I had never seen yellow eyes until now, but still, I was completely fascinated by him. He had sharp spikes on his back, and did I mention he had wings? Yes, you heard me. Freaking wings! His wings were black, but they looked so soft that I wanted to touch them. He had two horns coming out of his forehead, and they were black as well. He was absolute perfection. I may have been only twelve, but he was gorgeous. My heart began beating frantically at his sudden beautiful appearance. "I can hear your heartbeat, little one. See, I told you I would scare you," he said, growling in frustration. "I'm not scared of you, Garrett. You... are... perfect and maybe a little *cough* gorgeous." I rushed out rapidly and tried to cough to cover up what I said at the end. "My name is actually... wait... did you just say perfect? You think I am gorgeous?" he said, perplexed but then smirked softly. My whole face reddened with embarrassment, and I looked away as I nodded hesitantly. "You're not scared of my appearance at all?" he asked curiously. I shook my head and turned to look at him. "No, why would I be scared? Okay, so you're a demon. So what." I said, shrugging my shoulders. "Well, that is good to hear. So maybe when you come to visit me as you promised I will be my true self. Would that be okay?" he asked with a hint of excitement laced in his voice. "Deal. Can we be friends? Do you have another name you were going to say? I thought it was Garrett?" I asked curiously. He nodded his head and came to sit next to me. "My true name is Asmodeus, and yes, we can be friends. I would like that very much. It has been lonely being locked away from any sort of contact. I just wish I understood why I have such a strong connection with you. It is truly bewildering. To think of a demon like me being friends with a human girl. How ironic is that?" he said, chuckling and shaking his head with amusement. "Can I touch your wing? It looks so soft." I said softly. He moved both of his wings to cover around us and then nodded his head. "Yes, that is alright. Just be gentle. Please." I reached up slowly and ran my hands over his wing. He groaned softly, and I smiled. "Sorry, it feels good," Asmodeus said roughly, but I could tell he was embarrassed about being caught. "You don't have to apologize. It must have been horrible being sealed away from everyone and not having contact. That would be extremely depressing." I said with a pained voice. I felt a strong connection with this demon, and I didn't understand it at all, but I knew that I would keep my promise and visit him as many times as I could. I couldn't let my parents find out about him. He had to be my little secret. Otherwise, they would probably not let me come back. He was so lonely and just wanted a friend. Why did I feel like he was supposed to be more? What was it about this demon that brought my senses to feel everything he did? Was it because I drank his blood? No, that was a ridiculous thought. Yet, why did his blood taste so delicious and sweet to me? Just thinking about it made me want more of it. Stop! That was crazy talk. I ran my fingers through his feathers again, and he closed his eyes as he sighed contentedly. "So tell me about yourself, Addison. I want to know everything," he asked with a soft smile. "Okay, but you have to promise to do the same. I definitely want to know all about you, too." I said lightly. He chuckled and then nudged my shoulder lightly. "Of course, anything for you, little one." So that was how I spent the rest of my day. I didn't even realize it was the next day until Asmodeus told me I should get home before my parents started to worry. I hugged him and promised to be back soon. I ran as fast as my little feet would take me towards home. I had to think of a lie to tell my parents so that they wouldn't suspect anything. I had a new and interesting friend, and I wasn't going to lose him when I just met him. No way!
