Being trusted by someone to hold on to their feelings and cherish them is hard. Although refusal might seem like a huge offence, it only helped people in setting them free. Not being able to be a part of Everlyn's life was the last thing Addison wanted. She couldn't have her as her lover, but she still wanted her as her best friend.
Addison, therefore, rushed outside the room to chase behind her. As she got out of the room, she placed her hand on Everlyn's shoulder and asked her to turn around. The girl who seemed completely fine a few moments ago was now distraught over Addison.
Everlyn did love Addison, but she never wanted to smother her with her feelings. That's the last thing she wanted. Thus, she had announced that she'd made her distance, but that did hurt her too.
