Earlier I mentioned I use Microsoft Word to lay out my book files, but you can use any word processing software you like. However, you may have to search your program’s help file to find out how to do some of the things I recommend you do to the file when laying out the book. In addition to telling you generically what to do, I’ll include how to find the information in Word. The instructions will be very short, telling you only what menus you’ll need to click on from the Standard or Formatting toolbars to find the option to use.
PLEASE NOTE: I use Word 2002. In newer versions, the toolbars are not the same! If you can’t find a particular option or aren’t using Word and don’t know how to perform a particular function in your software, consult the program’s help file!
