Alpha Adam asked me many questions about my life, and I could tell he was genuinely interested. He never brought up Lucas, and I realized that maybe he was no longer bothered by him.
The day felt simple and easy, free from all the pressures and expectations we usually carried. He wasn’t Alpha Adam of the Eclipse Pack, and I wasn’t just some prize he had won by conquering the Willow Pack.
We were just two people, sharing stories and enjoying each other’s company, trying to figure out who we were beneath all the titles and responsibilities.
I didn’t want the day to end. It had been so long since I felt this at ease, but eventually, the sun dipped below the horizon, and darkness crept in.
