Chapter 8 - Little Miss Stubborn

Alaric's POV

I am waiting outside the school in my Audi with tinted glass for about 30 minutes now. I know classes will end anytime now, and I want to see her and make sure she goes home safe. Hey, I'm not stalking her; as I've said, I am just protecting my girl, ain't that right, Alec?

" You got that right, dude, anybody mess with our girl, messes with us." I am parked a few meters away from the school so that nobody would notice me, and they will think me weird hanging outside campus like this, especially my very annoying cousin.

Right on cue, the last bell rang, indicating the class is over for the day. I was paying attention closely at the door, so I won't miss my cousin Tricia and Gabrielle come out, and right on time, there they are happily chatting.

Look how beautiful our Mate is, Alec, the way her eyes light up when she laughs. I could get lost on those big innocent green eyes, and those lips,

God! I want to taste those thin pink lips. I bet it's as soft as cotton candy and as sweet as well. She's wearing low waist tattered black jeans and a white off-shoulder sweater, and she's just simply gorgeous letting her brown wavy hair like that. I want to bite those shoulder right now and kiss it at the same time.

" Dude, why can't we tell her already and mark her as ours? I can't wait anymore! Stop playing games and claim her now!" Alec, we can't do that. I told you we have to be patient with her. She doesn't know about mates or us. I will pursue her like a regular guy courting a girl; for now, all we can do is make her safe. " Ugh! the waiting game is killing me, Alaric! I want our mate ASAP!"

Shut up, Alec, I told you, patience! She will be ours soon, alright? Just relax, or we might scare her away. Where the hell is her dad? All the kids are gone, Tricia too, but Gabby is still outside waiting. Then suddenly her phone rang, she answered anxiously, and her face looked worried.

Then I hear her lie to his father and told him she'd get a ride with Tricia. I guess his dad is tied up at the shop. After ending her call, she looked around her to see if she could hitch a ride, but the whole school and parking area are deserted and getting dark.

Suddenly she started walking but where exactly? Because I'm pretty sure their house is on the other side. Oh, this stubborn girl, where the hell is she going now? Of all people, she knows that she cannot be alone, especially if it's getting dark.

I followed her slowly, keeping my distance so it won't scare her. Then I saw it, the gate to the cemetery, she wants to visit her mom. Oh my baby, why are you so stubborn it's dangerous for you to be alone in this part of the town at night.

" Alpha, we have a situation!" Alaric heard his beta mind linking him just as Gabby went inside.

" What is it, Josh?" He asked, annoyed because he lost sight of his girl, but he can't go inside. He won't want to take the risk of her seeing him here.

" We spotted a rogue roaming around our territory, and it's as if it is looking for something." Alaric sits up straight, alarmed.

" Where is it heading? And is he alone?" He asked anxiously. The last thing he needs right now is a lunatic rogue in his territory.

" Yes, he is alone, but I sensed a potent aura around him. He's here for a kill Alpha, whoever it is he came here for is worth risking his life. He is heading to the south part of the woods right outside the cemetery." Just after he said that a long howl was heard, and his heart almost went out of his chest, Gabby!

He quickly went out of his car to run after her, but she came out running and looking at her back as if something or someone is following her. She looked terrified and was shaking. I hide by the trees but still following her, then smelled him.

The rogue is after her! I let out a loud growl and called my men, I ran after Gabby and grabbed her arms, but she fainted when I turned her around. At that moment, a big brown wolf jumped out from the woods. He is looking at Gabrielle with so much hatred.

Alec is trying to come out, but I hold him back. We can't let go of Gabby now. Who knows, this rogue might have some tricks and brought his comrades.

" Who are you?! And how dare you trespass in my territory?!" I asked him in a booming voice, my eyes are glowing gold, and Alec is on edge. He is getting ready to take over if this piece of s**t attacks.

" I have no business with you, Alpha of Misty Rock. I'm here for the girl! Hand her to me, and I promise to leave you in peace." The wolf answered him bearing his big teeth.

" This GIRL, as you say, is my Mate, which makes it my business! You touch a single hair on her head, and you're dead. You come any closer to her, and you're dead! Do you hear me? Go back to where you came from and never come back." Alaric ordered the wolf with blazing eyes and a thundering voice. He holds Gabby close to his chest.

" Hahaha, Mate, huh? How sad. Will you be able to accept her if you knew who she is? Who her father is?" The wolf laughed but still walking back and forth as if waiting for the perfect timing to pounce.

" Alpha, we are here!" Josh's mind linked him, and 4 wolves jumped out from the woods, circling the rogue.

" So you brought company, eh. Okay, let's see what you can do." Then the wolf tried to attack Alaric, but his beta Josh was quick to block his path.

" Alpha, go and take the Luna to safety. We will take care of this bastard! You messed with the wrong pack, old man! Didn't you know that Misty Rock is the strongest pack in the land? Now you wouldn't be so stupid to challenge us to do you?" Josh mocked the wolf to buy their Alpha some time to escape.

" Josh, I want him alive. I need to know what he knows about your Luna." Alaric mind links his beta.

" Are you sure, Alpha? We can end him now so he won't be a threat to our Luna's life." Josh reasoned out with him.

" Not yet, Josh. I need to get some answers first, and then I will end his life myself. Bring him to the dungeon. I'll meet you there. I have to make sure she's safe first, I'll probably bring her to the Packhouse." Alaric answered, then fled, carrying Gabbie in his arms. He doesn't have time to go to his car, so he ran as fast as possible to his house.

" So old man, which is it going to be? You want to die now, or you will come with us voluntarily? Take your pick," Josh asked the wolf, ready to pounce on him if he makes a wrong move.

" Okay, I give up. You win for now, but there's no way you're going to put me in a dungeon." Before they could even blink, he jumped on top of the two wolves and ran to the woods. They chased right after him, but he just vanished. Not even his scent remains. It's like he was never there.

" s**t! Alpha will have my head for this!" Josh was so furious, they searched the whole forest, but he's gone. He ordered his men to go back and accept the Alpha's rage when he found out the rogue escaped.
