***Lucas’s POV*** Her screams suddenly stopped and there was nothing but silence, I stood in the hall way that lead to the door to the lower level. It was guarded to stop me from going down there; I had sent Father Henry down in hopes to stop Leo. Henry was an old friend of Leo’s parents and helped Lead Leo after they died, but he had chosen another path. The door opened and Leo stepped out cover in her blood, he stepped towards me as Henry stood behind him. “I see yet another poor soul has fallen under your wraith, does it not pain you to see them suffer?” Leo smiled and washed his hand in the basin next to the door. “They stand in the way of what I want, she’s nothing but a filthy Rouge,” he said and Henry glared at him. “She is still a child of God, she does not deserve this Leo,” Henrys eyes filled with pain. “You sound like Lucas, she’s nothing but a tool I need to get what I want. You should keep to the mortals and your God,” Leo said as he smirked and took hold of Leos arm. “She has a soul! Which is more than you have, you’ve gone dark Leo. What would your parents think if they saw what you had done? Gia?” he said and I sighed knowing Leo’s temper would take hold of him. “Don’t you dear… I’m doing this for them, so either stand with me or return to the church,” Leo growled and Henry stepped forward unafraid. “I shall pray for you my boy, and hope God will find it in his heart to grant you redemption,” He said before leaving us. I wanted to see her so I stopped him from walking away. “I want to see her, aid her wounds before they get infected,” I said and he chuckled. “You’ve gone soft brother, I remember when you would hand me the knives. The warrior who tore through Rouges like paper,” he said as he dried off his hand. “She’s different, she’s suffered more than we have. He does not care for her, she means nothing to him,” I said. “We have that in common then, now come on I need a drink,” he said as he tried to move me along with him. “I want to see her, I’m not in the mood to share a drink with a man I don’t recognise anymore,” I said and shock flew across his face. After a while he sighed, he nodded for the guards to open the door. As I stepped towards the door he took my arm. “Remember who you stand with brother, I need your head clear for what’s coming,” he said before letting me go. I waited for him to leave before grabbing a blanket and a first aid kit that lay on the metal shelf; I hurried down the stone steps and moved towards her cell. When I walked in I saw what he had done, her frail body lay on the damp stone floor. Her face bruised and skin sliced open, her arms covered in cuts and blood. I growled as my rage for what Leo had done boiled, her eyes flew open and she cried out. She tried to pull herself up but pain took over her body, I had frightened her. I hurried towards her and knelt in front of her, she stopped and the look of relief filled her eyes. “Iris I’m… So sorry, I tried to stop him but I couldn’t,” I broke off as her hand moved to touch mine. “It’s okay,” she whispered as she could barely talk. “I’m here to help with the healing, lets get you cleaned up,” I said as I stood and walked towards the tap outside the cells. The bowls we would use for prisoners lay next to it; I filled the bowl and walked back to her. I slowly shuffled her back so her head lay on my knee, I tilted the bowl and she drunk the water and sighed. With what was left I used to clean the blood before opening the first aid kit. “He took something from your Alpha,” she said and I nodded. “A few years ago the Rouges attacked, a lot of lives were lost including Leos parents and his Mate. After that he turned dark, his anger and pain got the best of him. Since then nothing else mattered, all he wants now is revenge. You my dear Iris are his way of getting it,” I said and gazed down at her beautiful green eyes. Then there was silence; the sound of the leaking tap was all there was.  “Iris what Leo asked you, about him. Do you know how he’s able to do what he does? His attacks are not like any others, its like he has an advantage. Do you know what it is?” I asked and she thought about my question. “I don’t know, I’m always locked away,” she said and I nodded. “But I remember one time when I tried to run, I was running through the woods. It was a full moon and I ended up in a place surrounded by stone pillars, the smell of nightshade and a woman in grey with glowing blue eyes. She had markings on her arms, when I was captured I saw the same markings on his arms,” she said and I frowned. The full moon, smell of nightshade, stone pillars and a woman in grey with glowing blue eyes. The only thing that comes to mind is… Witches. Witches were dark, they were greedy and dangerous. Wolves and witches did not get along, and the Rouge King was working with them. “That’s all I know,” she said and I nodded and held her hand. I wiped away the blood from the cuts on her face; she winced as I ran the cloth across her scar. “How did you get this scar?” I asked and her eyes wondered before settling on the light on the stonewall. “It was the first, and his way of marking what was his.” I ran my fingertips down the claw mark softly and she looks back to me, I smiled softly down at her and she frowned. “That look… What is it?” she asked. “Amiability,” I said and she smiled slightly. As I traced her scars her eyes closed and soon she had fallen asleep, this was the only time I had seen her in peace. It pained me and all I wanted to do was protect her, Leo will push for more that meant more torture. As I lay her head down I took the blanket and lay it over her, I pulled it up to her shoulders. She mumbled and slowly turned on her side, I was about to stand but I stopped when I saw a mark peaking out from under her raven hair. I moved the hair to the side and frowned, it wasn’t a tattoo but more like a birthmark. Between her shoulders, two crescent moons held together by what I assumed to be a full moon. As I reached forward to touch the skin a dim glow of gold drew the outline, I frowned, as I did not understand what it meant. I watched the glow move over her shoulder, the cuts drew close. When it was over I stood in wonder, I glanced down once more before walking away and out of the cell. What was that? Strange it was, as my thoughts wondered I knew there was more to Iris than meets the eye. As I closed the door that lead out into the lower level I made my way to Leos office, as I neared the door I heard murmurs. I rolled my eyes knowing exactly what was happening behind the doors, after waiting ten minutes the doors opened and Tessa stepped out buttoning up her blouse. “Lucas, I haven’t seen you in a while. Sorry for the wait,” she smirked and I just moved past her and closed the door behind me. Leo stood shirtless looking out the window with a glass of whiskey in his hand; he turned and looked at me. “He’s working with Witches.”
