Let’s Make a Deal
“Well, are you going to knock?” Avery whispered, and Violet shushed her.
“Shut up before they hear us. I’m gathering my nerves.” She said, closing her eyes and crushing the binder against her chest. “Do you guys remember what to say?” Avery and Star nodded solemnly. Violet raised her hand to the door, softly rapping her knuckles against it three times.
“Come in!” An alpha voice boomed from behind the door. With a slightly shaky hand, Violet turned the knob and entered the room, a smile plastered on her face.
“Hello girls!” The Queens smile met her beautiful gray eyes, her lips a soft pink color in front of bright teeth. Violet, Avery, and Star bowed.
“Oh nonsense girls. Go ahead and sit.” The king said, gesturing to the chairs in front of the desk. He was a very large man, larger than the girls’ dad Xavier. His muscles flexed underneath his pristine suit.
“What can we help you dears with?” The Queen asked, sitting on the corner of the desk. The slit in the side of her dress showed her smooth leg, an ivy vine tattoo crawling up her thigh.
“Good evening King and Queen. We have come to discuss a deal of sorts.” Violet said, her entire body rigid.
“A deal?” The king said, scratching his beard. It was shorter, but well taken care of.
“What kind of deal?” The Queen asked, side eyeing her husband.
“Back in the 1700s, our families would trade goods for reinforcements. Things like furs, foods, spices, etc.” Star said, flipping through the binder and showing the queen her research. “Or trades were received for other trades; such as fabrics for foods and so on.”
“That came to a stop in the 1800s, although I could not find a reason why.” Avery said. “The only reason I could find was due to both parties no longer wanting to trade. But we would like to propose striking that up again.” The king watched his wife’s face as she read through the binders pages, searching for something.
“That sounds very interesting. Let us talk it over for a couple days and we will let you know.” The king said. The girls nodded. “For now, our son has come home from his business travels to announce his engagement to his girlfriend. We would love if you joined us.”
“We would be honored, sir.” Violet said.
“Excellent. There will be dresses sent to your room shortly along with the omegas. They will lead you to the dining hall whenever you are ready.” The Queen said, smiling.
“Thank you ma’am.” Violet said, the girls bowing again and leaving. They each sighed, making their way towards their room.
“Engagement, huh?” Avery wondered allowed.
“Hush. This isn’t our home.” Violet said. Avery glanced at Star but closed her mouth. When they reached their room, the omegas and dresses were already there. Violet immediately sunk into a bath, an omega helping her take care of her long, dark hair.
Star was next as Violets omega began brushing out her hair, another omega applying lotions and oils to Violets skin. She sighed and closed her eyes, enjoying the feeling of being taken care of. When Star was finished in the bath, the omegas began the same process on her as Avery finally took her bath.
Violet was helped into her dress, a beautiful royal purple floor length gown with an attached robe. The lining was silver, the cleavage dipping down and showing her sternum. Her hair was in a loose French braid with pins placed around the braid. She was handed a pair of pumps the same color as the dress and slipped them on.
Stars dress was a thigh length slip dress the same color as Violets. The hemline had glitter all over it and she was given a pair of sandals to go with them. Her ashen blonde hair was curled and pinned in loose waves.
Avery wore a two piece dress the same color of purple, the skirt ending mid calf, and silver lining also around the hems. She was given a pair of strappy heels in silver and her hair was in a high ponytail. The omegas began on their makeup after.
So are we going to talk about how this is an engagement and not a ceremony?
Averys voice floated through Violet and Stars heads. Violets wolf, Laney, snickered, and she scolded her for it.
Usually it only happens when someone can’t find a mate.
Star replied, lost in thought.
I wonder how long him and his fiancée have been together?
Avery nodded at Violets question.
What if he rejected his mate for her?
Star and Violet looked at Avery in shock. She waved her hand in the air.
How could anyone turn down the mate bond just because they’ve been with someone for longer? Do you think that could happen to us?
Star looked like she could cry.
“Are you girls ready to go?” Violet stood and crossed her arms. Star and Avery looked at each other, Avery shrugging. They stood from their chairs and inspected their makeup. Avery and Star took a couple pictures, forcing Violet to participate before they were ready to leave.
“How big do you think this castle is?” Avery said, looking around as they followed the omegas to the dining hall.
“Bigger than dads, that’s for sure.” Star said, and Avery snorted.
“Well, duh. I’m sure this one is older than dads.” Avery replied as they stepped into the dining hall. Lycans and wolves milled about, a good mood hanging in the air. The rugs were a royal purple with silver linework and gems, artwork and decoration placed in a strategic manor all around the room.
“Woah.” Breathed Star as an omega passed by and handed them flutes of champagne. Violet and Avery agreed with smiles.
“This is so lovely.” Violet said, sipping the bubbly drink. A few men were throwing glances at the three of them, but they were all being ignored.
“Good evening everyone.” Boomed the kings voice. Everyone turned to the front to face the king and queen, who were smiling broadly. “Tonight, Dakota has returned from his travels. He came home bearing wonderful news; him and Emily are engaged!”
Cheers and applause erupted around the room, the entire dining hall roaring with happiness. The king smiled down on the crowd.
“They will both be joining us momentarily, so while we are waiting, please enjoy each other’s company and hors d’oeuvres.” The crowd dispersed, conversating happily. Violet introduced herself to a few people and Star did the same, Avery sitting down at a table. After a little while, the girls came together again, having drank a couple flutes of champagne.
“Definitely a bigger castle than our parents.” Star said, giggling.
“Do you guys think we could ever become Luna’s of a pack the size of Blue River Pack?” Avery asked, looking at her sisters. Violets eyebrows arched, and Star looked thoughtful.
“Well, Blue River was originally three separate packs before the Council merged two of them and Black Crescent was taken from Kade by Xavier, Xander, Wyatt, and mom.” Violet said, drinking another flute of champagne.
“Do you guys think we can do it, though?” Avery asked, swirling her own drink.
“I think-“
“Oh my goddess.” Violet said, interrupting Star and sniffing the air. “Do you smell that? It’s so…” she trailed off, sighing. When her eyes opened, she was staring off with a wistful look on her face. “Dreamy.” She finished, smiling. Stars head snapped around, her also sniffing the air.
“I agree. It’s the most amazing scent I’ve ever smelled.” She said, also smiling.
“Oh goddess, what is that?!” Avery said. Cheers and applause began to scatter around as the girls turned towards the smell.
