Chapter 12: My Confession

As we pulled up to Landon’s house, he parked in his driveway, shut his truck off, and turned to me,

“You’ve been quiet the whole ride, Greyson, Tanner and few others are coming over later for a bit, you okay?” He asks me.

I nod, “I’m fine, just wishing I could keep more distance between me and Trevor, he tried so hard to get me to talk to him, I stuck to working on the play, not wanting to hear his excuses.”

I smile at Landon, he smiles back,

“I was just checking babe,” he replies.

We get out, he locks up his truck, we walk up to his front door, he unlocks it, we go inside, his dad isn’t home yet, we go up to his room and start our homework. A few hours later, we finish as we hear a truck and a car pull up. I look out the window, seeing Greysons truck and Tanner’s car, Landon looks at me,

“They’re here,” I say.

I move away from the window, Landon goes downstairs, I follow him, he opens his front door, they walk in, Greyson, Tanner, Kyle , Sasha, Natalia and Kelly. The girls walk over to me hugging me, I hug back, each of the guys hug me and I hug them back. Kyle was the one guy I hadn’t really seen much of in school, but that was because we shared 2 classes together. Landon leads us to the basement, I look around in aw, it’s amazing, a huge flat screen was set up, along with an Xbox one and PS4 , full surround sound, a full bar was off to one side of the basement, a huge sectional sat against a wall, a coffee table in the middle in front of the couch, a pool table was off to the side of the bar.

I stood next to Landon after checking everything out, he smiled at me, knowing I had never seen this before, he grabbed a bottle of rum from the bar and popped in a movie. He grabbed some shot glasses and poured shots, handing each of us one,

“This is for my girl, and all you ladies that have supported her thru it all,” he says holding his up.

I smile at him holding mine up, then we all take our shots, we take a few more, then sit and watch the movie. Once the movie finishes, we put in another one, Landon and I go upstairs to order some pizza, he calls it in, I sit on the kitchen counter, Landon walks over to me and looks at me,

“I love you,” he says then kisses me.

“I love you too,” I reply and kiss back.

About a half hour later the door bell rings, Landon answers it and pays for the pizza,

“Paper plates are in the left cabinet next to the fridge,” he says to me.

I get off the counter and open the one he said and grabbed a stack of paper plates, then followed him as he went downstairs, he placed the pizza on the bar and I placed the plates next to the boxes, we all grabbed some, Landon turned Grey’s Anatomy on, we all ate and watched Grey’s for awhile. Around 9:30pm everyone left, Landon and I cleaned up downstairs, when we were finished, we each went to shower and get ready for bed, we laid down and he put a movie on, I fell asleep about 45 minutes into the movie.

I awoke to Landon’s alarm around 5:30am, we both got up and got ready for school, as I was putting my hair up my phone chimed, I looked at it, it was my brother checking on me,

Steve-Hey checking in you

Me-Im good

Steve-Okay have a good day in school

Me-thanks bro

Steve-NP lil sis

I grab my backpack, placing my phone in my backpack, I pull out Landon’s hoodie, pulling it on before looking at him,

“I’m ready,” I say.

He smiles, “Okay, coffee was started should almost be done.”

I smile more, “Okay baby,” I hug him.

We had only been together since Friday, and it felt like a lifetime already, it felt like the bullying never happened, he was so gentle now, he was really trying to show he wasn’t bad, he was showing me a side of him I wish I knew all along. We walked down to the kitchen, the coffee was just finishing, he grabbed us each a cup and a apple, then grabbed his keys handing me a coffee and a apple. I take them as we walk out to his truck, he unlocks it.

We get in as he starts it, the song Remember This by NF comes on, Landon looks at me, as I turn it up a little, what shocks him more is me singing along to it. He left his driveway and headed towards school,

“You have a beautiful singing voice babe,” he says as we pull into the school parking lot.

I turn a little red, “Thank you baby,” I say looking at him, “You should see me dance with the girls to a song.”

He smiles as he parks, “I’d love to see sometime, even if it’s just you dancing.”

I look at him, “Maybe you will tonight,” I smirked at him.

He smiles more, “Hmm I’d like that, don’t tease me though.”

I smirk more, “I love being a tease though.”

I leave it at that and get out of his truck, grabbing my backpack, he gets out grabbing his and locking his truck. He walks over to me, pulls me close to him and kisses me with passion in front of the school, just as Trevor is getting out and walking by. I hear him mutter something, I pull away from Landon and yell at Trevor,

“IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY f*****g SAY IT! I’m sick of your muttering when you see us!”

Landon grabs my arm, as Trevor looks at me,

“I LOVE YOU LUCY!” He says.

I laugh and reply, “If you loved me, you would have never f****d Macy, I moved on get over me Trevor, find another b***h to break her heart, I don’t love you, I used to until you f****d me over, pretty sad that you let Macy get in your head, I may have money but at least I don’t go for someone else’s mean, even if we were never really dating, now I’m Landon’s you lost your shot, so stop f*****g muttering and speak the f**k up when you walk by.”

He says nothing, the whole school is staring at me including Landon, I look at everyone,

“Yes you all heard me right, I come from money! I hid it to not have my friends based upon the fact that I’m rich, like most of you. I never felt the need to brag about money, the way some of you do, I was willing to die instead of flaunting the fact that I’m not so different then most of you. Difference is I have a good heart, I’m a nice person, I was the victim of bullying for 5 long years, I’m finally done being tortured, I never will wish what happened to me to happen to another girl. So I’m saying this to you jocks, If you like a girl, just tell her don’t bully her.” As I finish, Landon’s arms go around my waist.

He pulls me towards him, spins me to face him, then kisses me with such passion, I thought my heart would come right out of my chest from beating so hard. As he pulled away, he placed his hands on my face,

“Why did you never tell me, Tanner or Greyson? We wouldn’t have bullied you all this time.” He says to me.

“I don’t like to talk about it, I don’t need friend’s based upon how much money my family has,” I reply to him.

“You should have said something, I feel worse now,” he looks into my eyes, showing his pain.

“Baby, it’s fine, I will forgive you over and over, none of you knew, you guys are from broken homes, I accept you guys now, you’re my bf, Tanner and Greyson are now friends, it seems dumb that I fell for you, you hurt me so much, but it was always there, that love, those feelings, I just convinced myself you didn’t care.” I reply as the bell rings.

He just kisses me, “I love you more than life itself Lucy, let’s go get you to class.”

I kiss back and nod, taking his hand, we walk to my first class, he kisses my cheek and heads to his class with Trevor. I walk in and sit near Greyson and Tanner as the teacher walks in, class begins, we get assigned group projects, the teacher pairs me with Greyson and Tanner. The bell rings as we are given the project assignments, we grab our stuff and walk to gym,

“Okay so we’ll all video message later to talk about the project, figure out everything,” Tanner says as we enter the gym.

Greyson and I nod, “Sounds good,” I reply.

Tanner smiles, god him smiling wasn’t normal for me, it was crazy, I was slowly getting used to it, I walk into the girls locker room, as I do all the girls clap, I smile at them,

“Thanks ladies, but we all know we hate those cheaters who make excuses for it, and Macy is the school s**t, she’s hooked on Trevor for now ladies, keep your men close, who knows when she’ll switch guys.” I say to them.

They all erupted into laughter and cheer, these girls are my fans, in my corner, rooting me on, I never knew the power of friendship, until my bullies nearly killed me, they broke me into pieces, these girls had my back against Macy, we all had that goal of not letting her near our guys. Landon would never touch her, he hates her guts, surprising huh? There was still so much of the school year left, the holidays hadn’t started yet. Halloween was around the corner, this weekend I’d be going to the mall with Natalia and Sasha to get costumes, we did every year.

Natalia was throwing the Halloween party this year, I was set to help her out with it, I changed for gym and walked out, sitting next to Tanner and Greyson. The teacher came out a few moments later, class began, today’s game was capture the flag, Tanner and I were on the team against Greyson,

“Okay so we corner him?” I ask Tanner smiling.

He nods and whispers, “Yeah, then steal the flag.”

I laugh and smile, “We got this.”

As the game starts Tanner and I’s plot works out, we corner Greyson and I steal the flag taking off, Tanner covering me as we reach our side. After class is over the game was won by Tanner and I’s team. I go shower, change and head to the next class, walking in and sitting next to Landon. He smiles at me, slipping me his phone, a picture of us kissing on it.

I look at him, “Who took that?”

He smiles, “Sasha.”

I smile more, “It’s a good picture of us.”

He nods, “It shows how much I love you Lucy,” he smiles again.

“It sure looks like we love each other so much,” I reply as the teacher walks in.

We stop talking, as I hand Landon back his phone, mine vibrates, I peek it’s a picture from Landon. I smile and put it back, we focus on class, then before we know it the bell rings, we get up and walk to lunch together, we grab lunch, then go to Landon’s table, we sit and eat, laughing and talking, this felt good, felt real enough, school was slightly better, there was still normal high school bullshit, that’s life. After lunch, Landon walked me to class, kissed me goodbye and headed to his class.

I walked in and sat near Natalia, I ignored Trevor as he walked in, I felt him staring at me, it made me uncomfortable, class began, before I knew it two classes had passed, I entered drama, unwillingly. I walked into drama and took my seat, Trevor sitting near me, the class began and we had to practice without our scripts today, after about 20 minutes of practice, we headed to the auditorium to do a full run through, once we did, the teacher pointed out who needed work,

“Great job, Lucy all the feelings were true and genuine, however your partner needs a lot of work or we’ll be switching him out of the main role,” he says to me and Trevor.

“Thank you,” I reply.

Trevor frowns and replies,“Sorry I’ll do better.”

I roll my eyes and the bell rings, I grab my stuff and head to Landon’s locker, meeting him there. As we go to walk out the doors, Macy stops us in the front of the school,

“I need to confess why I did what I did,” she says to me with a look I had never seen from her before.
