POSSESSED

Hailey was in her livingroom cleaning up the mess they created the previous night after she had her friends over for a baby shower for her best friend. Abby has been her friend since childhood and they had both talked about finding good men, falling in love and living the fairytale kind of never ending love. Abby got the love of her life and they got married in a beautiful wedding ceremony but it wasn't the same for Hailey. She fell for a bad boy, a womanizer and a liar. Josh and Hailey had been dating for over three years and they broke up atleast five times but this time, the breakup lasted more than it should have.. The both of them had known each other too well that they concluded that no one was really going to live without the other after a soul tie ritual they had done by mixing their blood and swearing by it and that is why Hailey was not worried, she knew he was going to be back until that very day when she heard the door bell and when she opened it, there was a delivery man with an envelope for her. She took the envelope and signed for it then slowly walked towards the couch opening it to see what was inside. Abby was in Hailey's room where they had both slept after the event.. Abby was too tired to go home and so she decided to sleep at Hailey's who had also needed her company after several scares from terrible nightmares she had been having a couple of weeks since the breakup with Josh. She launched herself on the couch at the site of the small envelope inside the big one, it was a pink envelope with a wedding invitation in it. Hailey's heart skipped a beat when she saw the name of the love of her life engraved on the card. He was getting married. "Oh my gosh! " The invite took her by surprise and she couldn't help but quickly fold the card as she tried to process the information she had just read. She was in denial as she read the entire message and kept saying "No.. no.. no.. and a prolonged one before she angrily got up and smashed to the floor the vase with flowers that was nicely sitting on the dining hall table. When Abby heard the smashing on the floor, she dumped the packing of her stuff and lazily walked her very pregnant self towards the living room right on time to find Hailey holding on to another vase ready to smash it too. "Hailey?" She called approaching her tip toeing around the glass and for Hailey's satisfaction, she had to smash the vase right Infront of her and Abby screamed.. the scream brought Hailey back to her senses because Abby was holding to her belly like something had happened. "Are you okay" Hailey asked quickly holding her and leading her to safety away from the broken glasses. "I should be asking you that, what's going on with you?" She lay her back on the pillow and Hailey sat beside her. Abby's gaze landed on the card and she picked it up even before Hailey could explain what was going on. "Who is getting married" She was already opening the card and Hailey did not want to spoil the surprise. "Are you serious right now?" She raised her face and their gaze met in confusion. "Mhm! " "Wait, how long has it been since the breakup? " "Two months.. two f*cking months and he's already getting married.. My Josh is getting married Abby." Hailey was tearing up. She and Josh had been through hell and back and the thought of him marrying another woman was a hard pill to swallow. "Oh my darling, I'm so sorry... What are you going to do" "Kill her or him.. I don't know probably both of them" Hailey yelled and Abby was in shock. She knew that her best friend could get so angry and do stupid things like lace the tissue paper with pepper spray but killing was on to another level. "You are angry and that's okay, I'd suggest you calm down as we try to figure out what next, together okay?" Hailey did not respond to that.. she stared at her like a zombie and Abby had to snap in her face to make sure she was right there with her. "You don't understand, Josh cannot leave me. He will never marry that woman" Abby didn't know what to do to calm her down because everything she was saying was hitting a deaf ear. Hailey was hurt and she had every right to feel the way she was feeling. I'll help you clean up then maybe we can go out for ice cream or something.. ice cream works all the time." Abby tried to get up but she could not do it her self. Her pregnant self was already too heavy and she could not wait to offload her bouncing baby boy. Hailey helped her up and just as she was headed for a broom, she heard Abby curse and when she turned to her, her water had broke.. "The baby is coming" "s**t!" They had both panicked for a minute. None of them had been in that situation before and they didn't know how to react. "We should go to the hospital immediately." Hailey rushed to her room to get the car keys and she also grabbed Abby's bag that she had been packing before Hailey went insane. Abby had been trying to slowly walk to the car but her legs could not move. "Come on, we have to get to the car as soon as possible" Hailey held her hand and walked with her as Abby fanned her face, cursed her boyfriend Stanley and murmured all sort of stuff only she could understand. She slapped her hips and attempted to sit but Hailey could not allow her.. she knew that just a little delay and she would play midwife and the thought of helping Abby give birth freaked her out. They managed to get in the car and after dumping Abby's back on the front passenger seat, she got in and asked Abby to sit tight as she drove like a mad woman.. she was confused from Abby's screams and insults, she wanted to laugh when Abby said Stan was an i***t and she was never going to undress for him again. How could he make her pregnant and did he know what it took to carry a whole human being inside her belly. "Call Stanley will you?" She yelled looking at Hailey from the rare view mirror. She was still fanning her self and trying different sitting positions, Hailey thought she was being dramatic but on second thoughts, she believed that Abby ought to have been in a lot of pain. "What should I tell Stanley? " "Tell him to bring the baby's bag to the hospital and tell him to hurry!" Hailey dialed Stanley's number and put him on loud speaker so that she could concentrate on the road. "Hey Hailey, what's up?" Stanley answered and where he was seemed to have loud music in the background like he was in some sort of a party. "Are you kidding me?" Abby yelled from the back, the thought of Stanley celebrating while she was in pain did not sit we with her. "Abby is having the baby" "What?... I can't hear you Abby what are you saying" "Give me the damn phone" Abby commanded from the back and Hailey passed the phone. "The baby is on the way. If you want to be called a dad you better get to the hospital before I do or forever remain in that party!" "Oh my God, the baby is coming?" He could not have missed a word Abby said because he knew she could yell loud enough to stop the music. "I'm on my way, send me the address to the hospital" Hailey sent the address then hanged up and as she drove her mind drifted to her and Josh on the night they made the stupid vow. Josh and Hailey had just come from.a date and he had dropped her home that night after eating out in a restaurant and watching a movie in town. Hailey was a fan pf movies and even though Josh wasn't so much into it, he wanted to please her and what other better way of not do the very things that would give him the keys to her heart. Josh was romantic, he knew the right words to say to girl and he had the power to make girls fall hopeless in love with him, Hailey was not an exception but atleast for once he was serious with her. Josh was the type that never settled for one girl, he had a good Sense of humor, he had money.ro spend and he made girl's scream in bed and confess that he was the best thing that happened to them, what else did he need, probably a girl who would not worship him. He needed a girl who could love him genuinely and not for the money or the s*x. A person he could talk to and connect with in different other ways. Hailey was that person.. Hailey was crazy, she was outgoing and fun but she was also smart and very hard working. She challenged him and helped him make wise decision as far as his business was concerned. Josh didn't have a family as he was the only son to the deceased Mr. and Mrs Roberts. They got to the hospital and when Hailey parked, she quickly got out and ran to the hospital reception to get a nurse who dashed out woth a wheelchair following her. She and Hailey got Abby out of the car and had her seat on the wheelchair because that was the fastest way they could get her inside. "She will be okay right?" Hailey asked following the nurse in a hurry. "Yes, just pray for her to have a safe delivery" She let them go inside as she did the paper work by the reception while she waited for Stanley to show up. She quietly sat by the reception waiting as her mind drifted again to their first night. "Thanks for bringing me home, would you like to come inside for some coffee, its really cold and you need it" She said handing him back his coat and opening the door as he stood beside her. He knew he wanted to kiss her sexy dripping lips from the time they had been to the restaurant then to the movies but he did not want to come off as a shady guy..she ought to have wanted him too and that could have been her reason for inviting him in. "Are you sure it's okay?" "I wouldn't ask of I wasn't sure" She took his hand and led him to the house. She dumped her bag on the seat and took off her shoes then showed Josh to the seat. Josh settled and watched her walk to the kitchen and it was a sight to behold. Her well shaped ass was now more appealing to the eyes now that she had taken the coat off her. Hailey was beautiful both inside and out. She had a dimple on both cheeks and her beautiful black hair perfectly matched her completion. She mixed the coffee in the coffee maker added some water then headed back to the living room where Josh was flipping through the channels trying to find something to watch. It was a few minutes to midnight. Hailey sat next to Josh and when Josh placed the remote on the table, he turned to his side to meet Hailey staring then she blushed to herself. There was already some s****l tension between them and someone had to make the move. "I had a good time tonight" "I'm glad you did but I don't feel like talking" She felt butterflies in her stomach and goosebumps all over her when he moved closer and placed his hand on her thighs..it was warm and so was the breath from his nose. She looked away to avoid his gaze but he lifted her chin to look into her eyes. What do you feel like doing? She managed to ask and Josh moved in even closer. "I want to kiss you so bad, I've been meaning to taste those sweet lips since I saw you earlier today." "What is stopping you?" He smiled taking that as a challenge. He tilted his head and kissed her, then firmly held her neck from behind and passionately kissed her while she moved in and curled her arms around his neck and kissed him too. They were having a moment, a beautiful moment that was ruined when she felt a tap on her shoulder. It was Stanley standing right infront of her with the baby's bag hanged on his shoulder.. "Are you okay?" Stan asked sitting beside her. His tap snapped her from the beautiful moment that was playing in her head, how could Josh forget that and throw it all away for another woman. "I'm fine Stan, Abby is with the Doctor and I already did the paper work." "You know you can talk to me right, you seemed to be in deep thoughts" "Josh is getting married." She announced but he did not seem surprised and something told her he knew. "Oh my God, you already knew, how long have you known, how long have you known that he was with another woman?" She raised her voice this time round and a few people who were around them looked at them. She didn't care. "Come with me" He took her hand and walked her out of the hospital to the parking lot where they had both parked their cars. "I didn't know until yesterday okay, I bumped into Josh and the woman on my way from collecting a few baby clothes and he gave me a wedding invite for me and Abby." "Who is the woman he is marrying?" I don't know her, we did not speak much because they were in a hurry to go cake tasting and stuff. I could not tell you because you, Abby and your girls were having a good time, I didn't want to be the bearer of bad news and certainly not at that very moment. She made a long sigh and turned away with tears in her eyes. He could tell that she was badly hurt. He called her name and when she turned to look at him he pulled her in for a hug and she sobbed into his arms like a baby. "I'm so sorry" He said as he hugged her even tighter. The nurse who had received Abby and Hailey earlier on came out looking for her and when she called, Hailey broke free from the hug and they both rushed towards the entrance as she wiped the tears off her face. "How is she?" Hailey asked on behalf of them both and the nurse told them that Abby had a baby girl. She picked the baby's bag from Stanley who was more than happy to hear the good news. He could not wait to hold his daughter in his arms.
