Emily. That's what Rip had called her.
Rip had warned me that she had claimed her. She doesn't belong to Mikhail's pack. She doesn't belong to any pack. She belongs to Rip. She's part of the Demon Wolf. Emily walked passed me the worst glare I could possibly get coming from her. Rip laughed looking over at me.
"What did you do to her?" she asked sitting next to me.
"Nothing yet," I said with a smirk.
"No?" she smiled widely. "She's yours huh,"
"Yes," I answered confidently. She let out a long exaggerated sigh.
"It's not my place to tell you what she came from Gray. You might not like it, being an alpha and all. Just know that what they suffered for what was done wasn't enough of a price to pay. If you hurt my girl. I'll kick your ass," she threatened getting up to follow Holland and a mysterious box she had been trying to sneak past the front door for a while already.
"Audrey," Rip shouted when they climbed into the jeep Reginald had gotten her a few weeks after Miranda was executed.
They drove off before Ezra waddled out of Amelie's packhouse. She looks stressed out. Mikhail walked out after her she started to say something before she burst into tears. He pulled her into him trying to hide the smile.
"Pregnancy looks scary," Reggie said sitting down next to me where Rip had been. "Where did Rip go? I have a bad feeling about this,"
"She took off with Audrey and Holland," I informed him.
"f**k," he sighed.
"Maybe ask Emily?" I suggested.
"Good idea. You're a genius," he smiled, smacking my arm.
I followed him trying to use this opportunity as an excuse to talk to her. Reggie approached her and she growled at the both of us. We looked at each other and smirked not feeling threatened in the slightest.
"Where is my sister?" I asked.
"I'd have to kill you if I told you," she answered, turning away.
"Maybe that wasn't a good plan," Reggie chuckled, facing me.
"Do you guys know where Rip is?" Mikhail asked coming down the stairs. "They are making Ezra feel left out. She's crying,"
"Yeah, she's making us all feel left out," I said looking at Emily who rolled her eyes and walked out.
"She's going to blow something up," Mikhail declared. Reggie laughed thinking he was kidding.
"There's smoke coming from the southwest border alpha Riley," someone shouted we all began to look around as Riley rushed out of the house.
We all followed her out, the cars had already been started. Riley got into Reggie's jeep. We all squeezed into the car with him. He raced through the terrain angrily gripping the steering wheel. He hit the breaks when Rip appeared in the middle of the smoke laughing. We were all out in an instant before any of us could say anything, she took off running towards the direction the smoke is coming from. It doesn't smell like they're burning anything. It's a sweet scent. A smoke machine or several?
"Rip?" Reggie growled.
The smoke began to fade. In the center of the clearing is a house. The kind of house that someone would settle in. The yard had been turned into the most beautiful garden I had ever seen. When the other cars appeared Rosalie and Aardvark climbed out. I shook my head when Rip stepped towards him.
"Halfway point from the council temple and First point grounds. Happy Birthday, hell bitches," Ripley smiled tossing Riley some keys.
"Rip," Riley whispered, looking down at the keys. We are all at lost for words.
"I thought you were going to blow something up," Mikhail accused her, crossing his arms.
"Shouldn't you be back in your pack Colonial princess," she shot back.
"f**k you, b***h," he growled.
"So, I thought I'd make up for you know blowing up your car last week with your cat in it," she said looking at Rosalie.
Holland appeared from inside of the house with the box she had been carrying around all day. Rip opened it and reached in picking up a white fluffy ball and handing it to her. Rose burst into tears when she took it. We all laughed when Ezra started to cry as well. Mikhail sighed and went over to her. Riley trying to comfort her sister as well.
"How do you build a house without us knowing?" Reggie asked leaning against his car impressed.
"Half their pack was in on it. They helped with the yard," Holland laughed. "She did blow something up though,"
"What?" several voiced echoed in unison.
"Your f*****g minds," Rip laughed. She and Holland high fived. This is a great distraction with everything going on.
"That was a good one. Doing nice stuff is just not as fun as doing bad s**t," Holland groaned.
"Your right doing something nice takes so much effort. I seriously want to go back to when people got pissed off when I walked in," Rip agreed.
"A house isn't built in a week," Riley shouted as we all walked back to the cars. Rip jumped in the passenger seat of the jeep.
"The cat was for the car. It took me months to build this. As I said, being nice takes too much effort. I did this cause I hate you, snooty bitches," they laughed as Rosalie burst into another wave of tears.
"I hate her," she cried, rubbing her face on the kitty.
"That was really nice of you Mercy," Reggie said. She smiled at him before turning to look at me.
"Did she talk to you?" she asked.
"She blew me off," I shook my head.
"I can compel her," she shrugged as if it were no big deal.
"No, thanks. I think I can win my mate over on my own. Reggie did it with you,"
"We haven't done anything," he said popping his neck. "No matter how bad we want to,"
"It's different for her. She's crazy," Rip laughed, ignoring his comment.
"Rip," I growled.
"Okay. Okay. I'll stay out of it, but I think if we team up we'd win,"
"This isn't a battle Rip,"
"Gray we're wolves," she said sitting straight. "Everything is a battle with us,"
"That was deep," Reggie scoffed, rolling his eyes. She laughed.
"I'm just saying. Emily, she's had it hard. I did this to myself, mostly. I turned myself against the world. The world turned against her Gray. Even those who were supposed to love her the most. This is going to be the hardest thing you might ever have to do. I know that if it were done to me. I would have ended it before it even started,"
"Rip," Reggie scolded her, stopping the car. She turned to look at me.
"Don't give up on her gray. Can you promise me that?" there was a swirl of emotion in her eyes.
It's a plea for her friend. It hurts me to know that Rip knows how hard this is going to be and is already suffering for us. I can imagine it. What it is that may have happened to my mate. I had read the report on the Great Lake's take over. Rip had only left a handful of wolves alive. She had slaughtered almost the entire pack. Usually, the remains are posted in the files, but this one. They had purposely left out the details. They were too dark.
"Rip,"
"I have a lot of regrets Gray, but killing them isn't one of them. They deserved it. They deserve to be resurrected so that I can do it again," she climbed out of the car and went into the packhouse.
"She isn't hiding it," Reggie said looking back at me. "She just doesn't want to be the one to tell you,"
"Has she told you?" I asked.
"Summarized it and even then. I regretted asking her," he nodded. "Want me to give you a lift home?"
"No, man. I'm running," I need to.
"Holland take my go-kart to our packhouse," Rip shouted out of the window.
