Chapter 9

1708 Words
Rosie's POV I stared at the two of them, unsure if I should get out of the room or stay there and try to do something. Even if I was going to do anything, what would it be? "Have you turned deaf? I said to leave the room" Ruth growled at me again. "I am sorry for interrupting you two…." I started to say but was interrupted by the Alpha King's cough. "I am sorry Alpha" Ruth glared at me before she continued what she was doing. Are you not going to do something, Rosie? Lily questioned. I knew I should do something, but I was not sure if there was anything I could do. A glance in the Alpha's direction showed how intense his eyes were on me. Was he expecting me to do something or go out? "I need to get something" Ruth smiled at the Alpha before walking out, brushing past me in the doorway. She meant to cause a fight but I am not in the mood for that, especially when I am a slave, the last thing I would want is to be sold again. Too much of a bother. "You are badly hurt," I said stupidly. Keeping quiet would be the best thing for me at the moment, but can I afford to do that? "Get lost," Allerick snapped. His voice was fierce, he meant the words. Considering how much blood he had lost, his voice was still steady. Very rare. He is an Alpha King. Lily reminded me. I almost forgot that. I sighed and went to the door, closing it gently behind me, I was back in my room. If he hates me, why should he make me close to his room? He should have found somewhere to put me. After all, being next to his room meant nothing. I hissed. It was frustrating to think I was of no use, not even to someone who was dying! He is not dying, he just sustained a bit of injury. Lily said, this time very fast, as if she was trying to remind me of something. It all occurred to me, I could save him. At least I used to save the other Alpha King, this should not be different. I might as well pay him back for what he had done. All that money spent on me should not go to the ditch. Without thinking, I opened the door and peeped first to see if he was still there. Unlike the other time, he was not standing up, dressed in his robe, in front of a mirror. "What are you doing behind me?" He thundered. I almost regret coming again, but since I was here, no turning back. And, Lily was not giving me any chance, she was shouting some meaningless words in my head. I walked slowly to him, and with unnoticeable movements, I tore his clothes. I could not believe the actions came out of those tiny hands of mine. I bet he had a shock on his face, but I was just going to ignore it and do what I should do. I pushed him to the bed, his underwear was soaked with blood already. What does Ruth even know? She could have bandaged the wound to stop more blood! I took off the underwear gently so that the surface of the wound would not be agitated. The last thing I wanted was more blood. There would be no way to control it. After taking off his singlet, I turned his face to the bed so that I could access his back. "What are you doing?" He asked again, this time softly, it got Lily almost jumping out of me. She would not do that anyways. It was actually the first time I would be hearing someone talk to me that gently. "What a slave should do to her dying master," I said when at last I found my voice. "It is dangerous," he said huskily. I could not find a meaning to what he meant by it. I should not bother knowing the meaning though, I should just prove to be the person I am. "I don't care. Your life is at stake here, even if you don't need it, a lot of people are depending on you, and everyone in the pack is" I could not believe where the words were coming from. I am sure it is not Lily, I guess she disappeared again, or maybe she thought it was time to leave me alone to do things the way I wanted. "I hope you are not going to regret it" he muttered. What was there to regret? I regret living, it has been all regret, so this would not be different. I checked his back, but nothing was there. I turned to his left side, and there it was. A big hole was on his left side, almost leading to the other end. Or maybe it wasn't, maybe I was just imagining it. But hell the hole was big. "How do you sustain this? You should have worn something to protect yourself!" I screamed. He didn't answer, or maybe he had gone unconscious. It was a wild imagination anyways, the Alpha King would never go unconscious, because I have not heard of something as absurd as that. It is either he dies or he sleeps. Thinking about it made me suddenly scared. What if he was dead? I quickly turned him on his back, so that I could see his face. His eyes were closed. "Alpha?" I shook him to get a reaction from him. "If you cannot do anything, just let me be" he muttered without opening his eyes. I sighed in relief, at least he was not dead. I quickly turned to the left again. It must have been a poison. If it was an ordinary wound, he would have come over it. I peeped in and allowed the rays of light in my eyes to go in there. Scanning the hole with my eyes, I could not find anything harmful there, but I was sure it was there. I could sense it. I tried to put my hand in, but it seemed the most stupid thing I would ever do. How would my brain even think of that? I hissed and tried to think of another way to get rid of the poison. A glance at his face showed how fast the effect of the poison was spreading all over his body. His face was becoming pale. Suddenly I remembered, I could use the ray from my eyes to stop the effect of the poison and maybe trick it to come in a direction. If they were the ones I knew, they would be forced to come towards the light, I could hold it in place with my eyes. It was the most difficult thing I have ever done, maybe not anyways. Listening to insults and abuses was way more difficult than that. I needed to act fast, my eyes might lose focus at any moment. I scanned the Alpha's stomach again and realized I could use my hand to work something out. With my left hand, I held his hand and with the last bit of energy I had, I dragged him up from the bed, pulling him into a sitting position. Gradually the poison was moving toward the rays of light that my eyes had created. It had spread to the upper part of his body making it almost impossible for them to come out. It was a slow process, but I was not going to stop what I started already, it might cause greater harm than the poison would cause if I tricked it to a spot and leave it like that. My hand was slipping from the Alpha's body. That would be the worst part! It might cause the poison to go back to where it had been coming from, and that meant all my efforts were going to be wasted. With caution, I used the other hand to support his back, and just then, I realized how muscular he was. If an Alpha was not muscular, that meant he had no strength, but he was almost threatening to make my hands break, his weight was not helping matters too. Finally, the last bit of poison crawled out of its hiding place. All I had to do was to trick it out and disintegrate it. I focused the rays of light in the direction of the poison. It came out suddenly, and before I could do anything myself, Lily had done it. I fell on my back on the bed. The Alpha fell on the bed as if he was unconscious. If he was, it was better than having him die. The next moment ashes were flying in all directions, I smiled in relief. I did it! The pain in my hand forced me to almost stand up, but then, I realized how weak I was. I could feel hands on my waist. Before I could think of anything, I was already on the Alpha, he was pulling me on him, his eyes were closed again, and a smile on his cute face. I tried to wiggle myself out of his hold but only succeeded to get myself closer to him, his hands holding my waist tightly. "What are you doing Alpha?" I managed to ask, fear in my eyes. Instead of replying, he pulled my head closer to me, was he going to kiss me? I had no idea what was happening. I closed my eyes trying to forget, or maybe pretend nothing was going to happen. I hoped nothing would because I suddenly realized I was not ready for him. Not ready for anything. He opened one of his eyes, keeping the other one close. I could see the eye, I was getting lost in them. It was actually the first time I would be close to a man. I realized I had not been this close to anyone! The door flung open. I quickly turned my head in the direction of the door to save further occurrence, and to smile at my savior.
