Chapter 4

Rosie's POV

I had been awake for a few minutes already, and I felt unbelievably strengthened and safe, but I was not prepared for what I would see when I opened my eyes, so I remained where I was, gluing my eyes together.

The bed was soft, which I am thankful for. It felt like it had been forever since I had felt something warm around me. I wanted to stay there, but I knew I couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted. It won't be long before I am dragged away from here to resume my duties. I belong to someone now, someone who was stupid enough to pay five hundred thousand dollars to have my body, The Alpha king.

I have heard of the alpha king, the powerful and the extremely wealthy alpha king, but the person I had a glimpse of before I passed out could not be him. He could be an errand boy. If it had been him , maybe it would not be so bad to go on my knees to beg him to mark me. He looked like a fine Egyptian god, the way he strolled towards me like he had all the time in the world, and the ground was beginning to beg to be walked on, he took his time, and so gracefully.

“You are awake'' A thick rich voice stated, it was not a question.

I slowly opened my eyes, waiting to meet a devil-fat cunnt. But no, it was the Egyptian god from that night. I was not sure how long I had been out. He touched my arm, that's when I realized that there was an IV stuck into my veins. My wounds are all healed now. I stood up straight, afraid. Although he was the finest creature I have ever set my eyes on, something in his eyes told me I was supposed to fear him.

“You have been out for about seventeen hours. I am sure you're hungry'' As if my tummy was taking a clue, it rumbled, protesting. ''You will be fed'' He said, looking at me straight in the eyes as if he was trying to read something there. His dark stare made me want to curl back inside, but I stared back at him. Lily! She gave me courage again. There was sadness in his eyes, like someone who had not smiled in a long time.

I unconsciously brought my hand up to his face, wanting to touch him, caress him, to heal him, he seemed troubled ''What the hell do you think you are doing?'' He roared as he slapped my hand away before it reached his face, it stung.

“I am sorry, I am sorry. . . I don't know what happened. I am sorry,'' He didn't acknowledge my pleas, rather it even made me more stupid. Great, I messed up on my first day. There was no way I would be treated fairly here either, not with that attitude. Not if he goes off running to the alpha king, spilling to him.

“Miss, your food'' A young lady came into the open room wearing a flowery apron with a full tray of food in her hands. ''Thank you'' I mustered, directing her to the custom-made table in front of me.

“I hope you enjoyed it. I made it specially for you using the finest and freshest ingredients in the garden. My lord has commanded me to make sure you are treated specially'' She chattered away, she seemed lovely, she seemed to be about a year or two older than i am. Maybe she could be a friend in this lonely place. She seems nice.

“What's your name?'' I asked.

“Ruth, Miss'' She replied with a very pleasant smile on her face. It pleased me, there were nice people around this part of the world.

“Please call me Rosie''

“I am sorry Miss, I cannot do that until my master tells me to. It will be Miss until I have been given a green light, Miss. I am sorry. Please take that for now. If you find this offensive, please let the alpha king know, then he can give me instructions'' She finished with an assuring smile, but it still made me uncomfortable. Of course, she was the alpha king's person. I should not try to act so familiar until I know who and who I can bring over to my side.

She must think I am some bride or even an important person based on the level of respect she was giving me. I wonder what she will think when she finds out that I am like her after all. “Where is the alpha king? Does he not care to see his new prized possession?'' I asked, quickly switching back to how I was before she entered the room.

" She placed the tea cup beside the food, setting everything in motion waiting for me to devour it. D.amn! He is the alpha king after all, of course...

“Thank you'' I tried to play it cool.

“Please ring the bell by your bedside if you ever need me, I will come running''

I removed the IV in my veins just as i was sure the door was safely closed behind her. I pounced on the food like a rat starved of food and water. I ignored the blood that trailed down my arm, it would heal. I told myself.

That was great. I wonder when it was that we had so heartily rich home-made food like that. I linked with Lily, knowing fully well that she had gotten back her strength.

Oh, thank you. I relaxed and settled down on the bed.

The room was beautiful, I finally was able to look around, beautiful more than anything I have ever had the luxury of staying in. It looked like something you will see in a five-star hotel but also very homely.

There was a portrait of a beautiful lady high up the wall in the room, her eyes danced beautifully, I thought.

I stood up from the bed and looked at the writings on the lower part of it. It was scratched, which made it unreadable.
