Chapter 29
(24 hours before the incident)
Xavier's sleep was disturbed by the sudden pain in his throat. He walked in a sleepy state to the kitchen and got himself a glass of water. He choked on the water when he saw a bright crimson light coming out of Scarlet’s room. His face got red from coughing. Getting hold of himself, he strolled toward her room.
This isn’t a dream. Is it? Xavier thought.
The crimson-red light was getting brighter than ever, making his eyes squint in pain. He turned the doorknob slowly— his eyes widened when he saw Scarlet's body in the air— the crimson-red energy surrounding her. The aura was familiar to him— he was back in the crimson black hole, or was it Scarlet this time?
Scarlet’s eyes were closed, her limbs hanging in the air. Xavier froze in his spot.
