Chapter 40
Scarlet called the day off after their chat. There was silence between them. None of them spoke to each other on the way home. They were eerily quiet. Their minds screamed their thoughts but their lips were sealed.
“Thanks for today.” Scarlet turned to look at Xavier, who was shutting the door behind him. “I have some errands to do. I’ll be in my room,” she said, her eyes and voice gentle.
Xavier nodded slowly, “We’re up for school tomorrow, right?” He asked.
“Sure,” she said calmly, their heads nodding at each other.
Scarlet pointed towards her room. “I’ll head to my room now. Thanks for today. Sorry the plan got cut in between but I had. . . fun.”
Xavier's face barely showed any emotions. “If you want to talk about anything. . . I’m here for you,” he told her.
