Chapter 4:

When I was finished with my food and coffee Jared stood and held his hand out to me. “Come let’s go, they are waiting.”

“They can wait.” I said a bit snappily.

Jared sighed and grabbed my hand pulling me up from the stool. “Behave.” It was one word spoken in a deep husky timbre making me realise he had once again used his Alpha tone on me.

I huffed but followed him out of the house before I spoke. "I need my purse."

"It is already in the car Little one." Jared says as we walk up to a black Suv and I notice Sapphire and Leonard were in the front so Jared and I climbed in the back. Jared pulled me close to him once I was buckled and smiled as Leonard drove towards the mall.

As promised once we reached the mall Jared pulled me in the opposite direction then the one Sapphire and Leonard were heading.

I felt exhausted by the time we made it to the food court to meet up with Leonard and Sapphire to eat before heading back home. Jared had drug me through several stores and darn near bought everything they had in my size. He even insisted on buying me jewelry, shoes, a new purse, and several other things. I kept complaining that I didn't need any of these things but he insisted I get them. I had a completely new wardrobe with triple the amount of clothes I currently had. As we made it to the food court I sat roughly down at a table and rested my arms on the table, my head on my arms. 

Jared chuckled and went to order our food. We had talked for hours while shopping and he asked me thousands of questions. (Favorite color, food, ect.) It was as if he was trying to learn everything about me all in one day. As I sat there with my head resting on my arms I thought of the way the sparks flew every single time he touched me. It made me feel so conflicted. It was as if my body was screaming for him to touch me and never let go but the rational part of my brain kept screaming that it was wrong. We hardly knew anything about him. Whereas Jade purred every time he touched us and put up a constant stream of obscenities at me every time I pulled from his embrace. It was so confusing. I wanted to go to the home I had grown up in. I wanted to see my friends, But most of all I wanted to see my girlfriend. We had been dating for four months and Uncle Tim had told me I needed to break up with her before we left but I never did. I figured we would be going home after this "Family Vacation". I never guessed Uncle Tim wasn't really our Uncle or the fact that I would never be allowed to leave again. It was so confusing. My whole life I had only ever liked girls. So why in the universe was I mated to a man, and on top of that why was he making me feel things I had never felt before. Making me want to do things I had never thought about doing let alone with a man. My mind was spinning. I couldn't figure it out. I was lost at sea in my new reality.

"Emerald, call Stacey and break it off! I know that's what's holding you back from getting close to your mate."

I looked up at Sapphire with a glare then buried my face in my arms again.

Sapphire tried again. "Emerald it's not going to get better until you break it off with her and start enjoying the bond you have with your mate."

I glared at her. "Sapphire just shut up."

"Fine then I will call Stacey for you!" She snapped pulling out her phone.

The downside to having an identical twin sister was she could pass for you if she tried hard enough. 

The video chat rang and I glared at her darkly. "Don't you f*****g dare Sapphire!" I snapped trying to rip the phone out of her hand.

The call connected and I heard Stacey's voice. "Hey Babe I was wondering when you were going to call, how's the family vacation going?" 

What the hell! Sapphire must have used my account to call her.

"Hey Stace it’s not going so good Uncle Tim said we aren't going to come home. He said I have to break up with you. Sorry sweet cheeks." With that she hung up as I cried tears running down my face.

"Why would you do that Sapphire? Don't you care about me at all?"

"I am doing this for your own good. You can thank me later." She slid her phone back in her purse and looked me squarely in the eyes. "Now you can get close to your mate and do what the goddess intended!"

I buried my head in my arms and cried hard as Sapphire moved around the table and rubbed my back. 

"It's okay Em she wasn't your soul mate, Alpha Jared is. I always knew you weren't a full blown lesbian."

"Sapphire it’s not fair! What did you have to give up for Leonard? Nothing! But I am supposed to give up who I have been my whole life! It's wrong!" I cried, rubbing my eyes.

"Em it's not that bad. You will be fine, just take it one minute at a time. You will adjust to being with Jared. We both will adjust to our new life. That's what the goddess wanted."

"But I should have a say with whom I am married to but that choice was taken from me!"

"Not really you chose when the goddess made you, you just didn't know it." She shrugged and patted my back as the men joined us.

"What happened? Emerald are you alright?" Jared asked sitting next to me and pulling me into his arms. I felt the sparks at the contact.

I heard Sapphire stand and walk to the other side of the table to sit across from us with Leonard.

"Ask Sapphire! It's all her fault!" I cried, burying my face in my hands as he pulled me into his arms.

"Emerald it's not my fault. Uncle Tim told you to break up with her before we left and you didn't. That's not my fault. You are mated to a man, get used to it! Besides, Stacey wasn't good enough for you!" Sapphire snapped, slapping her hand on the table.

I growled dangerously at her and she sighed.

"I did you a favor whether you want to admit it or not!"

"What do you mean break up with her?" Jared asked, looking between me and Sapphire. "You were seeing a female? Your Bi?" He asked, sounding shocked.

I peeked up at him, my face red from crying and the blush that was spreading across my cheek bones. "I always thought I was a lesbian." I amended.

Jared chuckled. "That explains a few things. Looks like the Moon Goddess had a different path for you little one."

I growled softly and pulled away from him.

"Hey don't get mad at me just because I am a man. I am sure I can do things to you that you have never dreamed of before." He spoke quietly making my southern region clench tightly.

"W-wh-what?" I stuttered, blushing furiously my face a dark red with my embarrassment.

He chuckled. "All in time little one."

I glared and Sapphire giggled covering her mouth with her hand. I turned my glare to her and she raised her hands in surrender. "Not my fault Leo turned me into a perv!" She said looking at him like a love sick puppy.

I rolled my eyes at her and crossed my arms.

"What I would give to bite that lip! You make it look so delicious!"

I gasped and turned to Jared releasing my lip that I hadn't even realised I was chewing on.

Jared smirked and winked at me.

I opened my mouth to say something just as our number was called and Jared and Leo jumped up to collect the trays of food. I glared after them and Sapphire laughed. 

"He was saved by the bell." She giggled.

I sighed. "Saph why do you think we have been lied to our whole lives?" I ask softly.

She shrugs. "Because our parents died when we were infants." She answers nonchalantly her eyes following Leo as he slowly walked back over to us with Jared.

"You’re whipped." I mumbled and sighed. I will have to ask Jared why we were placed with Tim who wasn't even family and we were made to believe we were humans our whole life.

Jared set a tray in front of me and I sighed realizing he had gotten me all my favorite Chinese food items. Jared sat next to me with his own tray and Leo gave Sapphire a heaping tray sitting next to her with his own tray. I ate my food keeping quiet while the three of them talked and joked. When my food was almost gone Jared took my hand and smiled at me.

"Little one, Leo and myself have something we need to do. Why don't you and Sapphire go to the spa and get your nails done?"

Sapphire grinned at me and I sighed nodding my head. "Okay I guess we can do that."

"Excellent I will see you soon." He kissed my forehead before standing and walking away with Leo.

I bagged up my remaining food in the little box and sighed.

Sapphire smiled at me and took my arm and together we walked to the salon where we were pampered and ended up getting a mani and pedi. Sapphire assured me it would be fine. We were seated in these cool massage chairs our feet placed in a warm spa like tub at the bottom of the chair and for the first time since arriving at Jared's house I felt myself relax as the lady massaged my legs and feet and got rid of my calluses and then painted my toes a sparkly green color. I noticed Sapphire was getting a sparkly blue on her nails and giggled. It was funny our favorite colors matched our names and now that I thought about it so did our wolves fur.

As they finished my toes the lady gave me a pair of flip-flops and led me to a table where another lady set to work on my mani. I was able to relax and let my mind wander. I couldn't stop thinking about the fact my mate was Jared and how confusing it all was. I was still attracted to women but the way my body reacted to him said I was also attracted to men, or maybe it was man singular only for Jared. I huffed as the lady was finishing my last hand I saw Jared and Leo walk in with huge grins on their faces.

Jared walked to me and quickly kissed my forehead as the lady told me to be careful for the next half hour while my mani finished drying. I went to go pay but Jared beat me to it and paid for both Sapphire and my treatments. Leo took Sapphire's hand holding her shoes with his other hand and Jared did the same. Holding one of my hands and carrying my shoes and box of food with his other hand. We all walked back to the Suv quietly. It wasn't an awkward kind of quiet, it was actually kind of peaceful. Each of us lost in our own thoughts.

Jared drove home so I sat shotgun and Leo and Sapphire were in the back giggling and carrying on like the love sick fools they were. It seemed to take even longer to get home and when we did I was so exhausted I didn't even want to get out of the Suv I just wanted to sleep.

Suddenly I was picked up from my seat and the sparks told me it was Jared. He carried me bridal style up to our room. He gently laid me on the bed and kissed my forehead. "Rest I will be back in a little while."

"Mm." I grumbled falling asleep before he had even left the room.
