Faith
I didn't sleep.
I just tossed and turned all night until the sun came up and burned into my brain that yesterday actually f*****g happened.
The sound of knocking came to my door and I stood out of the bed walking over to the door and pulling it open.
A brunette with big brown eyes smiled widely at me, "You're Faye!" She said proudly. Faye, I'm guessing they made a fake name for me. Great.
I gave a nod and watched the girl beam down at me, she's very tall. I glanced down noticing she wasn't wearing heels, she's just really f*****g tall. My god she's probably as tall as Angeles.
Didn't Christian say he had a daughter? "You're Christians daughter?" I asked and she gave a nod, "Yes, I'm Lailah." She said proudly holding a hand out.
I shook her hand, must be nice to be born a billionaire, "Let's go get massages. I ordered two for us so don't even stress. It's the best way to start the morning. Are you a coffee drinker? We also have tea. Unless you're not a tea person or a coffee person, in which case we have freshly squeezed orange juice as well! It's not super sweet it's more sour but definitely delicious nonetheless. Oh and usually breakfast-" I tuned her out.
This is too much for the morning, where the f**k is her off switch?
"Lai, for f***s sake, she just woke up." Vader said sighing and I mentally thanked him watching him give me a look over before he went down the stairs. Why does he get hotter every time I see him?
I watched her give me a shy look, "Right, okay. I'll let you wake up. Maybe later today." She said before going to a room and shutting the door softly.
I headed out the room and down the stairs wandering before I found what appeared to be a kitchen. An older guy stood by a coffee maker pouring himself a mug, he looked like the mother but clearly had his fathers jawline.
Handsome, but probably in his late twenties.
His eyes moved over to me and he gave me a smirk, "By the way your eyes are lusting over my coffee, I'm going to guess you'd like some?" He asked with a low chuckle.
Tucking my hair behind my ear, I gave a nod, "Please, and thank you." I replied while he took a mug out and poured me a cup, "Room for creamer?" He asked while I gave another nod.
As he placed a cup down in front of me, he gestured to the cow shaped creamer and I smiled a bit humorously before picking it up and pouring some creamer into my coffee. "I'm Carlyle, or just Lyle, but i'm never a Carl. Never." He said sternly.
He doesn't look like a Carl anyways, "Lyle it is." I replied reaching a hand out, I remembered what Lailah had called me, "I'm Faye." I said smiling.
He shook my hand gently, "Faye, yes. Of course. You're very beautiful Faye. Very beautiful. In fact I think I don't even need any sugar for my coffee, you've given me all the sweetness for my morning." He seriously just said that.
A hand moved me aside and I turned looking back at Vader who gave his brother a head shake. He grabbed a bottle of something from the fridge and headed out the kitchen while I checked out his ass.
He may be twenty two but he looks way older.
I sat on the stool and took a drink of my coffee as Lyle started telling me about how everyone has their own morning routines and I'll get used to them.
After my third drink, Angeles walked in and avoided eye contact entirely with me. I think his dad told him about the marriage.
Lyle gestured to Angeles, "His mourning routine is going to the gym, doing an hour workout and then eating a breakfast big enough to feed an army." He said smirking at his brother.
Angeles looked over at me and then my coffee, "You two seem to have the same s**t routine." He muttered before walking out the kitchen.
Coffee isn't s**t.
I scowled at his back as he left and looked at Lyle who gave me a wide eyed and worried look, "You two not buddies?" He asked quietly.
Lailah walked in smiling and looking cheerful "Good morning Ly! You met Faye! Isn't she just so pretty?" She said pulling the fridge open and grabbing a bowl out. Inside the bowl was a whole bunch of mixed fruits.
Lyle grinned at me, "An absolute babe. Are you single?" He asked leaning into the counter.
I went to answer but Christian walked in and yanked Lyle by the back of the shirt straightening him up, "She's engaged." He said grabbing out a mug and pouring coffee into it.
Lailah gasped, "Who?" She asked excited as she stared between me and her dad. I didn't know if I was supposed to say it so I stayed quiet.
"Angeles." Christian said before staring at me and then walking out the kitchen with his coffee and a newspaper.
The kitchen fell quiet and Lyle laughed low, "Oh s**t, you two? Really? That's-I feel bad for you. He's a pain in the ass. It's obviously arranged. Right?" He asked quietly.
I gave a nod, "It's a status thing." I summed up while they nodded sorrowfully.
Lailah sat on the counter staring at her bowl, "You don't think dad would ever put me in an arranged marriage, do you?" She asked Lyle who scoffed and shook his head, "We wouldn't let him kid. Go eat your breakfast and we can get started on your training. Speaking of, Faye you'll be joining us tomorrow. If you want to come watch you're more than welcome to. My dad would like you to learn to protect yourself." He said with a small smile.
The flirting was gone, and I wonder if it was out of respect for his brother or for the fact I'll be his sister in law.
"Yeah, id love to see. Um-afterwards would one of you mind showing me around? It's a massive mansion and I just-it's easy to get lost." I laughed low while Lailah beamed, "Yes! I'd love to!" She giggled.
Alright. I took my coffee and followed them to a gym room. Angeles was in there on the far side of the massive room doing pull ups. Music played out through the speakers, very calming music. I went to the small bench by the window watching Lailah stretch and get pumped. She was adorable, annoying and talkative yes, but also adorable.
I watched them but every so often, my eyes would betray me and find themselves on Angeles. He's an asshole, but that doesn't change the fact he's eye candy and has a really nice body.
Lailah was knocked to her back and let a small "ah" out before she thudded to the mat. I smirked as she laid there watching Lyle with anger. She got up and went to throw a punch but he caught it midair and twisted her arm behind her back.
I've been put in one of those, grabbed the knife between my thighs with my free arm and jabbed it into the guys thigh. He let go and I kicked him hard to the side of the head, then he landed to the floor knocked out.
I finished my coffee and a little later, they finished their training.
Angeles had left a little bit ago sweating and ignoring my existence.
I wonder what Vader does every morning.
"I'll go shower and then take you on that tour. How does that sound?" Lailah asked as she stood in front of me now.
Lyle headed out and I gave her a nod, "Sounds good." I replied while she headed out the gym.
After she was gone, I spent a few minutes staring at the massive gym in this home. Billionaires. I swear. This is the life Angeles lived? And he treated me like s**t? He had everything! Why would he waste time on pissing me off?
Standing I grabbed my empty mug and headed to the kitchen washing the mug and the other dishes.
A throat clearing came and I turned my head to the woman, oh, it's his wife. "We have three maids. They'll get to it." She said kindly before pouring herself a glass or orange juice.
Right. They're rich.
I rinsed my hands and dried them off embarrassed, "How's your morning been?" She asked taking a plate with a crepe on it out the fridge.
I think all their meals are cooked for them. Damn, that must be really nice. I wonder how you can put in and order. I'll have to learn the ways of this place quick.
She smiled at me, "Hungry?" She asked while I pulled my eyes from her plate, "Oh I was just wondering if all the meals were made." I watched her nod, "They know our routines. Angeles's meal should be coming in any minute." She said taking a drink of her juice.
Interesting, "I went and watched Lailah train with Lyle." I said while she beamed up at me, "Did you like it? We have a professional who comes twice a week to teach her too. I know Christian plans to have you train with her." She said before putting a bite into her mouth.
The door opened and a maid walked in with a large silver tray and five plates on it.
"Angeles works almost all day. He eats breakfast and then dinner. Never lunch." She said explaining why the meal was massive.
I gave her a small smile, "You knew my mother?" I asked taking her off guard and noting her shocked expression. She gave a small nod and looked around. "I know they're my kids but they do talk. Try not to discuss too much of your personal life before the marriage." She said quietly.
Oh, right. I nodded, "I'm sorry, I forget. I just-I never knew her well enough." I admitted while the door opened. Angeles walked in with his hair combed back while he was dressed in a white button up with the tie loose, he had dress pants and dress shoes and undid his cuffs, rolling them up over the muscle.
He kissed the side of his mothers head before he sat down to eat. The gesture was so innocent, so pure and sweet. I suppose he's a mamas boy.
"She was lovely, as are you. You look a lot like her." She said quietly but not bothering to hide it from Angeles. After all he knows who I am.
The door opened to show Lailah freshly showered, "Found you! Come on, I've got so much to show you. Like my secret passageway out of this place. It's how I sneak guys in." She said smirking at her mom who gave her a look.
Angeles muttered "All dead now." And I felt a small smirk grow on my lips at that, he's protective of her and I watched her laugh, "No I'm joking. But I can show you the best pool to skinny dip in." She proudly.
We headed out the kitchen while her mom told her not to forget to be ready at one.
They're a close family, I never had that. Or if I did, I can't remember it well. Not anymore.
I can faintly hear my fathers laugh, but even that is such an old memory, slowly fading.
