It was interesting what I learned so far on Nani and Axel's mother, Valerie.
Nani's mother worked for Valerie's family initially and from what I had dug up of photos posted onto social media, Nani had been treated almost like an extension of Valerie's family. Obviously, Valerie and her sister were older than Nani, but that hadn't stopped them from becoming big sister figures. When Nani's mother retired, due to health problems, Nani took over her mother's role. She became the head of household maid at a very young age, her duties were much like Rory's were for the Ross's. And, it looked like she had been just as loyal.
