Brandy Before either of us could say anything else, Nate came out. “I found a few bugs,” he stated nonchalantly, striding nearly right up to us. “I took care of them for you— The words died on his lips as the sober atmosphere and, I presume, my expression registered. “Brandy?” He asked, his gaze falling on mine intently. Expecting me to explain everything, yet how could I? Axel cleared his throat and stood up abruptly. “Thank you Mr. Jansen,” Axel addressed Nate formally. How odd. My gaze returned to his quizzically. “How much do I owe you for your services?” Nate’s gaze shifted between Axel and I a couple of times as if trying to puzzle out what was going on. “Nothing. Consider it a thank you for your hospitality yesterday.” He replied in a clipped tone, mirroring Axel’s demeanor.
