Chapter 26 - The Long Night Franco's POV This isn't what I was promised when I allowed Lucille to convince me it would be a good idea for her to stay over and essentially play the role of my night watch. With a smile on my face, OK more of an I'm a lucky son of a b***h grin plastered on, I bend down and cup my palms into a scoop, gently sliding my arms under the sleeping frame that is currently draped all over my sofa. Damn, she's gorgeous! I count to three in my head before picking Lucille up, timing my movement with her intake of breath. She stirs slightly because of the sudden lift, despite me trying to be as gentle as possible, but doesn't awake. I glance at the clock on the fireplace mantle and see it's nearly 5 in the morning.
