In an effort to get his mind out of the gutter, he asked, “Are you hungry?” Jamie shrugged. “I ain’t got no money.” “I didn’t ask you that,” Alex said softly. “I asked if you were hungry.” “I don’t need your charity,” Jamie replied, a little miffed.
