“Ugh!” I growled as soon as we were in the confines of our own cottage. “Can we just elope? Seriously? Please? I just want to marry you Elias, I don’t want to have to do any of this stupid tradition stuff. You’re my mate! Of course I’m spending the rest of my life with you.”
“I know,” he sighed as I’m sure he was tired of me complaining. “But it’s important to your mom.”
“It’s only important to her because of Gran,” I said. “My mom wasn’t traditional either. She was just like me, strong willed and hard headed. She met dad and knew that her family would be upset because he’s Irish so she ran away with him and came to Black Wing. Dad was just named chieftain so he couldn’t really leave to be at Blood Fire. They didn’t speak for years until she had me and then they finally reached out and started speaking again. Mom doesn’t really talk about it much.”
“I didn’t know that,” he said. “So how did they get married?”
“My Great-Gran wasn’t much of a traditionalist either,” I said. “She gave them her blessing without even telling my Gran.”
“Sneaky,” he said. “Maybe your mom feels bad for that and wants to give your Gran a traditional wedding before she passes?”
“But shouldn’t this wedding be, you know, about us?” I asked. “Shouldn’t what we want be more important?”
“We can come to a compromise,” he said calmly and reached out for me. He knew when I was getting worked up. “Calm down, angel. I love you and we’re going to get married and that’s what is important.”
“And now we have to go spend ten days at Blood Fire for her blessing,” I continued because I needed to get this rant out. “What do I need her blessing for if the Goddess herself made you for me? How does my Gran know better than the Goddess?”
“Because some tribes believe that mates and marriages are separate,” he said. “Marriage is more of a way to align two tribes together. Mates are a personal gain. A marriage is for the whole tribe. So if they don’t see your mate as someone who can bring something to the tribe, then they won’t get married.”
“So I have to prove to my Gran that you bring something to the Black Wing?” I asked and he nodded. “Well you helped us find the Peacespeaker, you helped destroy Mathias, and you’re mated to me!”
“See, already got it in the bag,” he said. “Lets not stress about it anymore, okay? You’re Gran’s going to love me. We’ll spend time with your family, maybe train with Clayton and the guys, and we’ll get the blessing and come home. It will be like a little vacation.”
“You’ve never been to Gran’s for a visit have you?” I chuckled. “It’s not so much a vacation spot as it is like a rehab center. There’s rules for the rules. It’s nothing like here; you wouldn’t be allowed to sit on the couch with your feet up let alone have any leisure time. Its very strict and stiff there.”
“Argus and Clayton don’t seem very strict and stiff,” he said.
“They’re warriors,” I said. “Warriors are the highest on the totem pole at Blood Fire so they can do whatever they want; within reason. But everyone else is expected to follow the rules.”
“Hm,” he said and looked a little uneasy. “I’m sure it will be fine.”
“If not, then we elope,” I said and wrapped my arms around his neck; pulling him close to me. I inhaled his scent and felt the shivers roll down my body.
“What do you want for dinner?” he asked before leaning forward to kiss my lips, but I backed away at the last second. “Hey!”
“Did you forget our bet this morning?” I asked with a wicked smile. “Five days.”
“I give,” he said and pulled me back against his body. “You’re right, I’ll never be able to resist you.”
“You didn’t even try,” I chuckled.
“Because I don’t really want too,” he answered and slid his hands down my body; sending trails of fire burning everywhere. “But if you want me to stop, I will.”
Before I could say anything, he slid his hands into my pants and began to rub my clit. I started breathing heavy as I enjoyed the way his touch affects me. So warm and tingly as he crossed my lower lips; dipping his finger into the wetness before swirling it around. I moaned louder when he slid his finger in a little deeper.
“Should I stop?” he whispered in my ear and kissed my neck. “Or should I bend you over right here and take you from behind?”
“Take me,” I immediately responded, and he bent me over as he stood up, slid my yoga pants and panties down. He pulled out his c**k from his pants and swiftly slid into me. “Oh Goddess yes!”
I reached forward and held onto the couch as he began to f**k me hard and fast from behind. I met every thrust with a wild growl of carnal pleasure and I felt my eyes change. He reached forward and lifted my head back by my neck; kissing me deeply as he continued to thrust into me. I fell back forward and gripped the cushions; pushing back against his hips so he could get deeper and deeper.
He slid his hands up my back to my shoulders. His long fingers held onto and he began to push me back into him as he pushed forward with his hips. I reached my hand up to collarbone where his mark was and pressed it hard. I felt his c**k swell up inside as I orgasmed. He shouted out my name as soon as his release hit as well. We fell onto the couch; breathing heavy and spent.
“I want the record to show,” I said in between gasps of air. “That I won that bet. You gave up.”
“You may have won the bet,” he said. “But I got the prize.”
“What a dork,” I giggled.
The next day we were heading to Blood Fire. Traditionally the male is supposed to fly there as dragon, but since Edinburgh is almost seven hours away by car we are taking the jet. Once we land Elias will shift and fly to the Blood Fire territory while I’m escorted by my uncle Argus and Clayton.
“Are you packed?” My mom asked when we entered the castle. “You’re leaving this afternoon.”
“Yep everything’s already in the car. What else do we need?” I asked.
“There’s some robes you’ll need to wear,” mom said. “Both you and Elias will need to wear them for the blessing ceremony.”
“Ugh now there’s a ceremony?” I grumbled. “How come Ian didn’t have to do this?”
“Tasha comes from a different tribe with their own traditions,” Patricia sighed clearly frustrated with me. “They did things differently. You are an ancient tribe so we do things more by the book.”
“But you didn’t, you ran away with Dad,” I said.
“I wish I had been more traditional,” she said. “I shouldn’t have run away like that and I’m sure we could’ve had come to a compromise. But I can make sure you don’t repeat my mistakes.”
“But I don’t want traditional,” I said. “I want to have fun at my wedding. I want to celebrate this awesome life I have and being so formal sucks the fun out of everything.”
“You will have fun at the wedding regardless of traditions,” she said. “Don’t worry my sweet daughter, we can honor our family and get down and boogy at the same time.”
