CHAPTER FIVE

"Ano bang ipinunta natin dito? Dapat nasa school ako ngayon at nag aaral!" Reklamo ko na naman. Naiinis na talaga kasi ako.

"GC ka pala. I didnt know."

"Now you do. So, pwede na ba tayong bumalik sa St. Therese?"

"Nope." He checked his wristwatch. "We still have more than three hours left." Tinignan ko yung tinuturo nya. Umiling ako agad at dali daling naglakad palayo.

Hinila nya naman ako pabalik. Nagbayad na siya ng entrance at pumasok kami sa Chinese Garden. How cheap!!

Ang dami kayang malalanding couple sa loob. Nakakakulo ng dugo.

Bitter ang peg. Daming nagpiPDA, tss. Nung napagod si Kenneth nagyaya siyang umupo sa damuhan. Tignan mo ang lalaking ito. Walang paki kung madumi ang damuhan.

But I must say, napahanga nya ko ha. Isipin nyo naman, isang mayamang lalaking tulad nya magyaya sa Luneta?!

Kakaiba ang lalaking ito. Tahimik na tumabi na lang ako sa kanya. Fresh air.

A couple passed by.

"Ann, naniniwala ka ba sa soulmates?" Tanong nung guy. Ngumiti yung girl. "Oo. Kasi ikaw other half ko."

Napatitig ako sa papalayong couple.

Other half? DEJA VU.

My mind did a flashback..

Aldrin and I were sitting on the shore while waiting for the sunset. Katatapos lang namin magswimming. Nakasandal ako sa balikat nya habang nakayakap siya sakin. This is one of the best days of my life.

He hugged me tighter and smiled. Maya maya ay may dumaang couple sa harapan namin. The guy kissed the girl's forehead. "I dont wanna lose you. You are my other half."

Papalayo na sila. My attention was reverted back to Aldrin when he spoke.

"Do you know that the ancient greeks believed that the human body was originally composed of two heads, four arms and four feet?"

"Well, that's odd." I replied.

He smiled and continued. "But Zeus, the god of thunder and lightning, and also the King of Heavens cut them into two, so that they would spend their lives searching for their other half."

"I wonder where my other half is." I kid. He chuckled and gave me another hug. He whispered in my ear. "He's sitting right next to you."

"WOOOOY!!!! HUUYYY! EARTH TO CYRELLE!"

"H-ha?" I blinked twice.

"Ano ba yan, kanina pa ako salita ng salita di ka pala nakikinig." Sabi ni Kenneth.

"Ugh, sorry. What was that again?"

I was still disoriented about the flashback. Namimiss ko na naman siya.

"Ang sabi ko dati ang mga Greeks naniniwala na ang tao ay ginawa ng may dalawang ulo, apat na paa at apat na kamay. But Zeus? He cut them in half so they would spend their lives searching for their other half..." He grinned. "Cool, huh?"

I gaped at him. How could he possibly know about that story? And his last sentence, he said it exactly the way Drin did.

It was as if I entranced when the words escaped my mouth.. "I wonder where my other half is..." I muttered softly, thinking about Aldrin. I wasnt paying attention,

until Kenneth spoke...

"He's sitting right next to you."

KENNETH'S POV

Kanina pa lutang at tahimik si Cy ever since sinabi ko yung mga words na yun.

Niloloko ko lang naman sya.

It's not as if I was really thinking that Im her other half.

"Bat ang tahimik mo?" I finally broke the silence.

"Wala." I shrugged. Ano kayang problema nitong isang to? Topaking babae, psh. I closed my eyes. Magpapahinga muna ako.

Lumilipad ang utak ko. Sa totoo lang, first time ko tong pumunta sa Luneta. Gusto ko lang matry yung feeling na kunyari normal akong tao.

Na hindi ako si Kenneth Garcia na anak ng may ari ng St. Therese, at ang susunod na tagapamahala ng GARCIA GROUP OF COMPANIES.

Siguro kahit sa araw na to lang, gusto kong matry na takasan ang pagkatao ko. I sighed.

20 minutes

Ang tahimik parin nya ah. I opened my eyes. s**t! She's gone!

Tinakasan nya na naman ako! Im so stupid! I stood up, sana naman hindi pa nakakalayo yun. I started walking away.

Lagot sakin ang babaeng yon!

"Kenneth!!!" Huh? Takang napalingon ako. Si Cy nga. Andun siya sa ilalim ng punong tinambayan namin kanina.

She was holding something. I squinted. Teka, is my vision deceiving me or is that an..

"Oh, ice cream mo. Baka matunaw." Inabot nya ito sakin. Whoa. Bat bumait yata. Anong milagro ang nangyari?

"Hey ano pang hinihintay mo. It'll melt." She said as she licked hers. I eyed the ice cream. I was scrutinizing it. Ito yata yung tigsasampu lang eh!!!

She expects me to eat this?! HELL NO.

"Ayoko nito! Kung gusto mo mag Ice cream magDQ tayo! Who knows kung pano nila ito ginagawa!"

"Grabe ka! Just because it's called dirty ice cream doesnt literally mean it's dirty. Try it. Wag kang maarte."

"No. Magkahepatitis pa ako dyan!"

"Eat it. Just freaking eat it, okay?" She's getting pissed off again. Talk about mood swings.

"No." Pagmamatigas ko.

"EAT. THE. f*****g. ICE. CREAM." she looked at me in the eyes. Napalunok ako.

Shit. Nakakatakot naman ang babaeng ito. Di kaya takas sya sa rehab o sa mental?

I tasted it. Actually, it's good. Really good. She raised her eyebrow.

"How was it?"

"Good enough for me." Ayokong aminin na nasarapan ako sa ice cream, asarin pa nya ako no.

"C'mmon, let's go."

"Where to?" I shrugged. Lumabas na kami sa Chinese Garden. Many couples are making out in broad daylight.

We sat on a bench. Naalala ko yung kwento ko sa knya tungkol sa greek myth.

I dont know where it came from. It just kind of popped in my head. Madalas nangyayari sakin yon. Random thoughts that come out of nowhere.

My phone rang. It was my mom. I rolled my eyes. Ano na naman kayang kailangan nya at napatawag siya?

"What do you need?"

"Nagsumbong sakin si Mr. Dimaluslos Kenneth! Shouting curses in class, really son?! I just dont know what to do with you anymore!"

"Calm down. I just cussed. You act like I killed the damn professor!"

"SRSLY KYLE KENNETH?! Where are you? Meet me in my office this instant, young man!"

"Sorry, I cant. Nasa park ako. If you wanna talk to me then you'll have to wait for me to get back."

"Sa park? What in the world are you doing there?"

"nagpapalipas oras."

"Son are you with someone?" What? Of course I am. I looked at Cy. Im with this moody weirdo.

"Son? Are you still there?"

She was looking too.

"Kenneth..."

She looked away.

So I did too. What did my mom say?

WHAT?! DATE? WTF.

"THIS ISNT A DATE!" Napasigaw ako. s**t! Cy turned and frowned.

"Nobody said it was."

"Well, err.. yeah." I looked away. This is embarrassing.

"Unless you want it to be." She teased. She mustve sensed my discomfort. Curse you, mom!!!

"Why would I wanna have a date with you?" Napipikong tanong ko.

"Why wouldnt you?" she winked and laughed.

"I-i dont know." DID I JUST STAMMER?!

"So, this is a date...." She said, or asked.

"It is?" I turned to her. Only to catch her smirking at me.

"Nah. Why would I wanna have a date with you?" She mimicked.
