"Why did you do that, Fiona? Why did you agree to come with me?"
The Mafia brothers were cruel, I could see it in their eyes. I already knew they would ruin me, but now I had to agonize over a young girl being tormented by them.
Fiona looked at me like I was speaking nonsense. "I told you, Eve. It's best that I go with you."
"And why do you think that?" I rolled my eyes.
"They said they were not interested in me because I am a child, so they won't touch me," she said and waved her hand dismissively.
"And you believed them?" I barked. Oh, this naïve little girl.
"They are in the Mafia, Fiona. They're not to be trusted. They could easily change their minds or use you as leverage against me."
Fiona's eyes widened with fear and I instantly regretted my harsh tone. But then her lips curled into a small smile. "I've dealt with worse things, Eve. Just let me stay with you as long as they allow me. Please?"
I looked at Fiona, her determination shining through her eyes. Despite her young age, she seemed stubborn in her decision. The thought of her facing the dangers alone unsettled me, so maybe she was right. It's better she was within my eyesight.
"All right, Fiona," I sighed, relenting. "But promise me this: if things get too dangerous or if they harm you in any way, you'll find a way to escape and won't look back.
Fiona nodded solemnly. "I promise, Eve. I'll be careful. We'll watch out for each other."
"What's all the talking back there?" the driver barked at us.
Fiona and I remained silent, exchanging a quick glance. I could feel the tension rising in the car, suffocating us as we drove further into our unknown fate.
The car stopped in front of a mansion.
The Mafia brothers, Alex and Isaac, stepped out of the car and Fiona and I followed suit.
"Hand the little one over to Debra and prepare the redhead for us," Aleks or Isaac looked at me and smirked.
I felt my heart drop and a surge of anger rush through me. I stepped in front of Fiona protectively, pushing her behind me.
"No," I said firmly, my voice resolute. "She is not going anywhere."
The brothers seemed surprised by my sudden defiance and they exchanged a glance with each other.
"And why would that be?" Aleks or Isaac spoke again, his eyes narrowing at me.
"You both made it clear that you have no interest in her, so there's no need for her to come with you," I said determinedly, trying to keep my voice steady despite the fear coursing through me.
Fiona peered from behind me, tears brimming in her eyes as she grabbed both of my hands tightly in hers. She looked so scared but yet held on to courage like it was a lifeline.
The brothers exchanged glances with each other and smirked. "Ah, I see. You think we would hurt the girl?"
"Can you blame me for thinking that?" I snarled.
"Debra is just keeping an eye on her. Isaac and I don't plan on doing anything with Fiona," Alex said and let out a chuckle.
I watch them carefully, trying to distinguish them. They looked exactly the same, but they were dressed differently. The one with red shirt is Aleks and Isaac has a small diamond stud on his right ear.
"How do I know you are telling me the truth?" I asked, my voice filled with skepticism.
The brothers chuckled, seemingly amused by my suspicion. "You don't have to trust us, but we have no interest in harming a child. Take our word for it, or just live in fear. Either is fine by us," Isaac explained.
I glanced at Fiona, her grip on my hands loosening. She seemed to believe their words, her fear momentarily subsiding.
"Fine," I replied, still cautious.
"Good," Aleks said with a smirk.
As if on cue, an older woman walked in. She was wearing a simple dress with her hair tied up in a bun.
"Debra," Aleks started. "Take this girl with you and don't let her out of your sight," he said and motioned toward Fiona. He looked at me. "And you..." he paused.
I stared at into his eyes, not breathing.
I felt my stomach turn. I knew what he was implying, and it made me sick to my stomach. I had been reduced to nothing more than a prize, expected to entertain their s****l desires. I wanted to crawl into a hole and die.
Fiona grabbed hold of my arm, her fingers digging into my skin. She stepped in front of me protectively and glared at the brothers. "Why can't you leave her alone too?" she shouted.
Alex and Isaac glanced at each other before bursting out in laughter. "Ah, the little one is brave," Aleks said in between laughs. He looked back at Fiona and then at me with a smirk on his face.
"Red is our prize," he said, gesturing towards me, "And we will use her however we please."
I felt anger boiling up inside of me, but I forced myself to stay silent as I held onto Fiona's hand tightly for comfort and strength. The brothers seemed to take pleasure from our distress as they laughed.
"Go with Debra, Fiona. I will be fine," I said, tears dripping down my eyes.
Fiona let out a small sob but nodded her head as she knew there was nothing she could do for me. She looked between the brothers and me silently for a moment before glancing away with a look of pity in her eyes.
The brothers watched my expression and smirked again, seemingly pleased by my discomfort.
"Let's go." Isaac grabbed my hand.
I glanced at Fiona one last time before being dragged away by Isaac. She followed Debra while I kept my eye on her, my heart aching for her safety.
As we walked down the hallway, I saw Debra whispering in Fiona's ear and giving her comforting glances. Hopefully, she would be safe with Debra and not have to experience the horror waiting for me.
"She will be fine," Isaac murmured under his breath.
I didn't respond.
He stopped in front of a door and slowly opened it. "Inside, now," he ordered me.
I stepped inside, my heart pounding. The room was dark and cold, with a single bed in the corner. I felt sick at the thought of being here for days on end, expected to service Alex and Isaac whenever they pleased.
"This is where you'll stay," Isaac said as he threw a pile of clothes at me. "Wear these, then come out when you are ready. This room has no windows, so don't bother trying to find an escape. And if you disobey, not only will you be punished, but so will Fiona," Isaac said with a cold smile before slamming the door shut behind him.
As the door slammed shut, I stood there in the darkness, my heart heavy with despair. I looked at the clothes in my hands and felt like throwing up again.
The dress Isaac asked me to wear was short, a babydoll dress with see-through materials.
Of course, it is.
I held the babydoll dress in my hands, and a wave of disgust and anger washed over me. The dress is a symbol of the objectification and degradation they intended for me. To them, I was nothing.
I took my own clothes off: black trousers and a white blouse that I had carefully picked out for the interview I was supposed to go to today. I guess I no longer needed to worry about my future, huh?
I put the dress on and stared at myself in the mirror. Just this morning, I was complaining about how I didn't look good in my professional attire and now here I was, feeling even more disgusted at myself as I dressed like a w***e.
