I stepped out of the hospital for the first time in three days, the crisp air hitting my face like a refreshing wave. My eyes quickly found Ryan, who was standing a few paces away, deep in conversation with Alpha Matthew. They were just far enough that I couldn’t hear the details, their voices a murmur against the backdrop of chirping birds and rustling leaves. As I made my way closer, fragments of their discussion floated towards me, the mood around them heavy with unspoken tension. “We lost six warriors,” Alpha Matthew stated, his voice firm but tinged with sorrow. “Don’t tell Amberly.
