POV: Hayden
I groan from opening my eyes to the bright light shining through the window and the pounding headache. I blink my eyes open a few times adjusting to the light. That's when I noticed someone's head lying on my chest. Guilt grows inside of me as I see the girl peacefully sleeping on my chest.
I remember her from last night. How could I forget someone with a name like hers? Sapphire. I like it. It's unique and different. What I'm feeling guilty about is how young she looks and probably is. I remember everything. She still had her innocence until I took it away last night. She seemed very keen on losing it too. I hope she is of age. If anyone ever finds out she's not, I'm screwed. I don't normally go for girls this young.
However, when I bumped into her I was almost frozen at the sight of her. Even now I look down at her face. She has short brown hair and brown eyes. A little basic but she makes up for it with her name. Her lips are full and pouty. She's beautiful. Unfortunately, she's entirely way too young for me.
I gently sit up trying not to wake her up and place her head on the pillow on her side of the bed. Then I quietly get up from the bed getting dressed. I need to leave. This is a one-night stand and was always meant to be one. I almost feel bad because this was her absolute first time but judging by the way she jumped right into bed with the first man she bumped into she's going to be in this position again. Hell, she was probably some fan that always had the fantasy of losing it to me so she sought me out and crashed my birthday party. At least she got what she wanted. I'm sure I rocked her world and it was every bit as amazing as she imagined it would be.
I quietly sneak out of the room and head down to the hotel lobby where I run into an old family friend, Jack Rivers. I should have known Grace would book one of his hotels. "Hayden! It's been a while since I've seen you around. How have you been? How's Leighana doing?" Jack asks. Leighana is my mother.
Jack and my mom used to go to school together. He was also one of my dad's friends. My mom had me when she was 16 years old. After Dad left, Jack would come around to check on Mom. Sometimes he'd bring his son with him. Josh is a good kid from what I can tell.
"She's doing fine. How are you?" I ask. "I don't know. My son made one of the biggest mistakes he could have ever made. I just got a call from the school which I was expecting." He says. "What happened?" I ask. What the hell did Josh do? "A bunch of high school drama but he got what he deserved. I just need to find her now. She wasn't in her room and the school said she was absent today." Jack says. Hmm, I wonder if Josh did something inappropriate with her.
"Wow, what did he do? Maybe I can help." I offer. I will always do what I can to help my family and friends. "There is nothing you can do. What's done is done. Josh has been dating this girl for the past three years. She recently found out he's been cheating on her with her best friend. She ended things with him last night. Which sucks because yesterday was the poor girl's 18th birthday." Jack reveals to me.
Damn! What is wrong with Josh? Believe it or not but I've been cheated on before myself so I know how that feels. "I'm sorry to hear that," I tell him. "Yeah, well anyway, are you checking out? I can do that for you here. I need to see if I can the girl." Jack says motioning towards a computer area. "Actually, There's a girl in my room so is it possible that the concierge can call me when the room is empty?" I ask. "Yes, but we can send someone to wake her up and you can check out. I will do it personally. I know how much you value your privacy." Jack says.
"That would be great actually. I don't want her to end up in the press." I tell him. Sapphire ending up in the press as my latest conquest is the last thing I need right now. Glass Tears with many things and this situation is the last thing I need on my plate.
New songs aren't our only problem. We've gotten some bad press lately. Malcolm punched someone in the face because some i***t commented offensively about his fiance, Pheobe. Photos and videos were taken, meaning in the next five minutes, the whole thing went down and was blasted all over the internet.
Blake had a relapse two weeks ago. Blake was an alcoholic but has been sober for three years. Blake got some bad news about his daughter, Paisley. Poor kid is diabetic and has epilepsy. It was a hard pill for Blake to swallow hearing this. He was going to have one drink but in the end, he got blasted. When Blake gets drunk he gets angry very easily. He will get fighting mad. All it takes is for you to say the wrong word to him. The press found out about it and his daughter so now Paisley is being blasted all over the tabloids. I don't wish this life on anyone. Things are rarely private.
"Consider it done. Cassandra, here will help you with that. I'll get her up and out of the room." Jake says pointing over to Cassandra at the lobby desk. "Thanks." I go over to the concierge and check out.
I'm actually feeling a little inspired now. I think I have an idea for a new song. See, I told Grace, that tonight was just what we needed. I wonder if when Sapphire hears this song she will know it's about her.
