Surprises

I ran outside the house and looked around to where she might have ran off.            "s**t! How can she be gone so fast without a trace?"           She didn’t! I can still smell her scent! It’s coming from the north.            “The north?” The forest! Could she have ran off to the tree house?            Yes! That’s where she went for sure.            I wanted to bolt for a run and catch up to her but I hesitated for a moment. The tree house was the last place I saw her. That’s where I rejected her. Why would she still ran off to there? Doesn’t the place remind her of the pain?            It’s her special place D. It’s where she always go when she’s hurt. Go find out the answers yourself and hurry the f**k up!            “Why the heck are you so impatient?”           Can’t you smell it? There’s something else in the air and our human mate is a fitting prey!           I sniffed the air to try to get a hold of what Trance was saying. One deep inhale and my eyes opened up flashing dark blue.            “Wolves!”           f**k! Trance was right! Why didn’t I smell it before? This place has the scent of wolves and rogue ones! f**k! Since when did this place get inhabited by other wolves?            “Damn it!” I cursed again as I caught on more scent. There’s almost ten of them if I counted right and all of them are coming from the same place Sylvie’s scent is coming from!             A loud howl made me stop on my tracks. It was then followed by more.             “Damn it!” I cursed under my breath. If they even lay a finger on my mate, I swear I’m going to murder them all!              I ran as fast as I can using my extra strength and agility as an alpha to the max. I was on full alert, my eyes darting on all angles where a surprise attack may come from.              I could sense someone following me and watching me from behind the trees.             s**t! There’s more of them!             I slowed down when I saw the clearing ahead. Still with my guard up, I scanned the perimeter. There’s no use hiding. I know that they knew I’m here judging from the cool expression on the man’s face who was sitting on one of the huge boulders by the river. He’s got raven long hair tied in a samurai bun. And that smirk on his lips made my knuckles itch.           “Who are you and how dare you step on our territory?” The man asked smugly. I caught on his scent and confirmed he was a wolf too.           “Territory? This place? I didn’t know a rogue can lay claim to any land. Especially the ones that's mine.” A deep growl rumbled on my chest as I said the last words.            “Well sorry to burst your bubble, pretty boy, but this place is ours. The whole town is. And we aren’t rogues. You’re inside the Silver Moon pack's territory, mutt. I’d advice you to chose your words carefully. Now who are you?”           “Ha! I’ve never heard of such pack! And you’d best be the one to watch your tongue, MUTT!" I mimicked his words. "Now where is my mate?”            “Mate? You’re looking at the wrong place. No one’s here but us.”            As if on cue, the werewolves lurking behind the shadows of the forest stepped into the clearing, all in wolf form. They growled and snapped, baring their sharp fangs at me.             I’m f*****g outnumbered!             “See, we are not so fond of trespassers especially a cocky one like you. If you don’t want to tell us who you are then we’ll just have to find out. Teach him how to talk properly.”             Just as he ordered, two medium sized brown wolves launched at me. One aimed his fangs on my arm but I’m too fast for him. In a single sidestep, I was able to dodge the attack and give him an elbow on the head which sent him face first on the ground. The other one didn’t slow down and thought I was distracted. Well he thought wrong. Before his sharp canines made contact to my skin, I already made a full turn and kicked him right on his temples. The mutt lay unconscious with just one blow.             The others didn’t seem to get the message though, most likely thinking they can knock me down with their numbers. They attacked at the same time.              How dare these pups bare their fangs on us! Shift Darius! I’m going to teach them a f*****g lesson.              Without another thought, I shifted to my wolf Trance. My midnight black wolf let out a powerful growl that stopped the stupid mutts on their tracks with surprise. Doubt was eminent in their eyes when they saw how huge Trance is. And I don’t blame them, the biggest of them is barely half of his size.             Trance made a low growl and stepped forward which made a few of the wise ones step back. But the stupid ones growled in defiance. Too bad for those who launched themselves mid air, Trance caught on to one of the mutt’s legs and snapped it into two. Same thing happened with the neck of the other. The third one was pinned to the ground with his razor sharp claws.             He was ready to haunt each of them down when he felt a sting on his side, followed by another. Trance looked at it and saw darts sticking in.             He turned to look at who shot him. It was the man in the boulder who was then holding a crossbow.           “You’ve done enough harm. You killed my men so now you must pay with your life.”            I felt my world spin around me. My vision blurred, and my knees weakened. I could feel the poison darts mixing with my blood. Involuntarily, I shifted back to my human form. I spat red thick blood the moment I'm done shifting.           “Not so mighty now are we?” I heard him laugh before he nudge the arrow on the back of my head sending my face to the ground. “Say bye now, Alpha.”           H-how… he knew me?            A loud powerful growl shoved the question away. I turned to see whom it came from. With my blurry vision, I saw violet eyes from behind the shadows then a snow white wolf stepped out into the clearing. I saw the other wolves nearby bow their heads to it as it walked slowly and gracefully. The soft moonlight made it's furs sparkle. It was mystical and I was mesmerized as well.             Trance opened his eyes and seemed to have found a new strength.            Mate… he whimpered in my head.           Mate?            “Alpha! What are you doing here? I told you we can take care of the intruder.” The man in a bun said as he knelt down and bow his head into submission.             Alpha?            “That’s enough” I heard a silver wolf's female voice loud and clear.            Before my eyes the white she shifted back effortlessly to her human form. A Japanese style robe fell smoothly over her creamy shoulders. In one quick move she was able to cover herself and tie the lace together.             I raised my head to see her face when the scent hit me.             No… It can’t be!  How is this possible?            “S-Sylvie?”            She squatted in front on me and cup my chin so i can look straight at her now violet eyes. She smirked at me before she said, “Surprise!”
