CHA 8: Escaping Death

846 Words
WEST Mom on the other hand suffered really badly after the death of my father and so she had to remarry when I turned eleven. She got married to a cruel man who never liked me nor want me to live under the same roof as him; mom had no other option than to take me to her sister's house and there the hell of my life began. After the long intensive silence that struck the cell all because of my muteness, I cleared my throat and abruptly left the dungeon. There was no use of furthering the conversation, Senator Jerrick knows nothing about what I want to know. He's just a mere corrupt Casanova but that doesn't mean I have no need for him; I still have an unfinished task suitable for him. -------- I needed to cool my head so I left with five of my guards; two cars drove out of the Mafia house. The car at the front was occupied by my driver and one of my guards while I sat at the back seat in deep thought. The other car at the back were occupied by just my guards, for protection I guess. The driver kept driving in circles to no destination, under my order. Suddenly we came across the coffee shop and I asked him to pull over. The waiter guy, I got down from the car to find him standing right in front of the coffee shop, it seemed like he was about to leave. He paused upon seeing me and a brief smile stretched across his lips. RAVEN "You're going so early?" Aria asked with her eyebrows arched. I looked around me to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything. "My shift is over so I'm heading home now. Any problem?" I inquired sternly. A wince glinted in her eyes, perhaps she felt daunted. "No there isn't, a safe journey back home". Her long black skirt swung about her leg as she spoke. She hovered nervously, probably waiting for my reply, but too bad I just had absolutely nothing to say. Her face etched with anger before she ruffles her hair and leaves. She's such a confused person. I rolled my eyes and made my way outside the coffee shop. There I spotted the lady of the other day walk out of a car, and we both locked eyes, holding on to each other's gazes. Time around me halted as a soft smile stretched her lips, she began to take short slow steps towards me. She's undeniably beautiful and gorgeous, rich too. I was fascinated and swayed by her beauty, forcing me to forget what I had just seen before, but my gaze darted there again. Someone on black from a far distance, mounted a sniper gun directly pointing at.....the lady. Without thinking, I swiftly ran to her and pushed her out from the way, then the gun shot sounded. The sound was ear-deafening when the bullet struck a car, and it began a siren alerting sound. People rushed out looking petrified and horrified. My eyes were still locked with hers, a hint of surprise etching on her face. The well body built men around that I assumed were her guards, began flashing their eyes around like torches. With all their experiences and qualifications, they still couldn't discern a strange atmosphere. But she seems to be a monumental person with all the bouncers surrounding her, and as well an attempt on her life. I gently let go of her and scanned at the direction but the person was already gone. My gaze darted back to her, she was still obviously in shock. "Are you okay? Hope you weren't hurt?" I asked tenderly to ease her agitating gestures. She nods slightly, her consciousness flying right back. "It was meteoric, but I think I'm fine. T-Thanks a lot for saving me, what would have happened if you didn't come to my rescue" she exhales as she glares at her guards. "Why did the person try to kill you? Did you get yourself involved in something bad or serious issues?". I bundled her with loads of questions, she swallowed hard and averted her eyes elsewhere. "I'm actually a business tycoon, so it's nothing unnatural for our lives to be in danger". She enunciated and I nodded, well that's understandable, considering the fact that she's young and wealthy too. "Well I'll advice you to be more careful and also get emphatically feisty men to guard you". I suggested with a wink, and she chuckled a bit before she glanced at her men. "Okay if you say so. Seems you're heading home, my men can drive you home if you don't mind" she says "No, thank you" I said warily and cautiously, immediately leaving the scene. I keep wishing and dreaming to be rich one day, but is this how I'll continuously carry my life in my hands as I leave my future mansion? Sometimes I prefer being average poor than rich, because the fear of being killed one day is resonance and there.
