CHA 10: It's West

BEVERLY "Problem of our imported goods being switched" I stated the obvious and surprising everyone, she began chuckling. My eyebrows were raised as confusion shrouded me. "That's not a problem at all" she says casually, causing us to be muddled as we gazed up at her. She was acting suspiciously, I had my doubts. The smirk I had just a few minutes ago had morphed into a full blown baffled look. Petty issue? Really? "Yeah that's right. The Mafia Lord made it crystal clear that we need not worry about anything, he has it under his control. C'mon, when did we start underrating the Lord Mafia's words?" she asks with a slight hype in her tone. The Mafia Lord always stands on his words, what's the difference now?. But I still had some hardened side, forcing me to believe that Lori doesn't know what she's doing. "We're going to continue what we Mafias do, run our businesses with no fear at all" Lori declares. Her voice was laced with underlying suspicion. The more those unknown languages escaped her lips the more puzzled I am. I exchanged glances with the boys and Rake decided to say his mind. Something I and Elvin probably can't do. "So we are just going to keep importing goods that will eventually get switched?" he asks with an arched up eyebrow. "At the wharf, shipments comes into the country daily, weekly and even monthly. They tend to switch and rob us of our imported goods. What harm is it gonna make if we return the favour?" she proclaims with a half smile tugging at her lips. The word drove cold shivers down my spine as a quick smile stretches my lips. Now she's saying something skeptical, I love the sound of the intensed action. I'm not someone who enjoys idling and cooping about, so this is a great news to start with. Lori can be very angelic but most times a subtle sinner and that's the side I love about her. ---------- WEST Today is a bright beautiful morning indeed, and I am ready to rock my day though it would be a bit hectic with all the flight and stuff. I had already booked the afternoon flight because I will be visiting somewhere before heading to the airport. Some of my servants bundled few of my luggages into the car. "Miss West are you traveling?" one of my female servants asked and I glared at her. What stupid question is that supposed to mean? Am I going to the airport to deposit my luggages and head right back?. I can't allow her ruin my day because I'm certain I will face more once I've traveled. Ignoring her, I got into the back seat of the car and the driver drove off, heading to the Mafia House. After a short but not too short drive, my driver pulled over right in front of the Mafia building. I didn't get down from the car rather I summoned Rosa and Aerith. "What a surprise Miss West, you didn't tell us you would be traveling" Rosa gasps and I glowered at her. Everyone this morning tends to annoy me but it definitely wouldn't work. After instructing them to handle the Mafia well while I'm gone, the driver drives into the busy streets following the direction of the coffee shop. I'll like to see that guy and at least get a grip of his name. RAVEN "You see.....this is quite weird. I mean to be spotted with our customer, sitting here" I said with an awkward glance around. "Oh c'mon, don't be subpar you're way above this. Besides you shouldn't worry about losing your job, I already met with the manager on your behalf" she assured with a chuckle and I gave a slight nod. She definitely doesn't know why I'm so worried, Aria is a murderous looking maniac, if gazes are guns I should have been dead a long time ago. "So..... I'll like to thank you again for saving my life. And as a form of appreciation......" her voice trailed off as I cut her short. "I don't need any reward for it Miss". After hearing what I blurted, she snorts by stifling a laugh. "It's not a reward actually, I just want to offer you a job. I mean you don't plan to be a waiter for the rest of your life or do you" she inquires. "No I don't" I answered straight and her face seemed to have wrinkled in a frown. "Okay that's good. I am traveling right now and would love to see you once I'm back". She states and stands up so I did the same, staring at her. "Before I forget, send me your contact info". She requested and I did as she said. Soon she begins walking out of the coffee shop, but then she halts and turns around. Displeasure passed through my face, as my eyes pierced into hers. "Didn't pick the name" she says sarcastically "I'm Raven and you?" I questioned and she furrowed her eyebrows a bit in amusement before she answered. "It's West"
