The Descendent

Chapter 6

THIRD PERSON POV

It's like any other day at the Akeldama royal palace until the goddess shows herself in the Royal private chamber. Inside, Thana and Essence, together with Kora and Kharis were discussing among themselves when they feel a gush of wind hitting them. 

"The prophecy is near. I need Cara to get ready." Selene said without even saying hello. Thana turns to the goddess. 

“What do you mean?" 

“We caught some demons in my kingdom. DEMONS! They all preparing to attack me. I know it!" Selene said and slammed her hands on the grand table. 

"Relax, my goddess. Maybe we can think of another way and not using Cara as the main protagonist to solve this. She's going to marry Voltaria soon." Kharis reason. 

“No! The prophecy clearly stated that Cara should kill Helios!" Selene screamed. Kora went to her wife’s front and glares at the goddess. 

"Either way it will come true. With Cara or not." Kora hissed. 

“Why does MY granddaughter have to suffer because of you?!" Kora raised her voice to the goddess. Kharis squeeze her wife's arm gently. Selene move backwards and slumped onto a chair. By now Kora realised what she had done. 

"My goddess... Have you talk to Cara herself about this?" Thana asked. Selene shakes her head. 

“Soon, the war will happen. Soon every innocent life will be at stakes. Soon these doors will open again." Selene said and stand. 

“Soon... One of us will die." Selene said and walks out of the chamber. 

Thana looks at her wife and her parents. 

“Please tell me that she’s joking?" Thana asked. 

"She's dead serious." They all sigh.

While the Akeldama had their moments with the moon goddess, Helios currently watching the realm thoroughly. He knew Satan rarely come to do his own dirty work because he always sent some demon he enslaved to do it. 

Helios knew that these demon will be in his way in order to capture Satan. 

If Helios watched these ones long enough, he knew he would eventually find one who hates him. The he’s currently had his eyes on is the one whos loyalty was just for show and if given the right opportunity, he would betray Satan. There have been a few Helios thought might work out but they were always too unpredictable. 

Helios knew that he would only get one chance at this. If he failed to capture Satan on his first try, he knew Satan would make it impossible to get another chance. 

As Helios watched another group of demons being given their kill orders just outside the underworld portal, one of the demons became angry and started killing while the others yelling about grunt work. 

Helios was happy about this because this demon was the one he could get on his side. This demon also is a great fighter. He was taking out 3  Satan supposedly unbeatable guard. 

Just as he was about to kill the tenth demon, Satan appeared and took the demon's head off. 

"Well, I guess I won't using him now that he is dead." Helios said with a sigh of disappointment. 

"Get Zero up here to clean this mess up and the rest of you go get your kills!" Satan yelled. 

Everyone bows and scattered quickly. Satan stepped back into the portal and disappeared. Helios recognized all of the demons coming in and out of the portal but he had never heard of this Zero that Satan referred to. 

Just then a very deformed demon came out of the portal and began cleaning the blood and body parts off the ground. The demon who came out with him, give his instructions in one word sentences as if he were an animal. 

"Zero! Clean!" The demon pointed at the mess and then left Zero alone. Zero began working. 

The way his body was misshapen it was hard for Zero to do the job but at the same time, he cleaned as if he had been in that condition for a long time. 

Helios watched Zero closely. He looked at his  appearance but he understood nothing but Helios noticed something about his eyes. It seems like this deformed creature actually thinking of something. 

Helios smiled to himself. Zero is perfect he said in his mind. It didn't matter that Zero couldn't fight because that creature wouldn't have to fight. Zero was perceived as useless and nonthreatening. 

That made him very dangerous and nobody but Helios could see it. Helios came up to Zero and waved his hand causing the messy scene in front of them to disappear. Zero looked at this with concern. Was he about to die? 

“I am a Helios. You are Zero. I would like to talk to you about something." Zero looked at him I confusion. He hadn't been talked to like this in so long. 

“Yes, I know you can understand more than one-word commands. I can see the hate in your eyes. Tell me. Is that hate for Satan or for someone else?" Zero opened his mouth but not because he wants to speak. 

He opened his mouth was to show that he couldn't speak. 

“That is no problem. I can fix that." With another wave of his hand, Zero once again had a tongue. 

"Why would you help me?" Zero asked in a husky voice. 

"As I said, I want you to help me. You may be very deformed and you may not be able to do as much as others physically but you know things that nobody else knows and I'm guessing that you can get close to Satan and he doesn't even realize you are there?" Zero looked at him very unsure. 

He has always been abused and used. Zero doesn't trust anyone. 

“What if I am? What can I do to help you?" Helios grinned from ear to ear. 

“Your job would be very simple. All you have to do is get close enough to touch Satan's arm. When you do, he will be bound. I will arrange it so that your touch can bind him. Then I will step in and do the rest." Zero turned. 

"If you have the power to bind a devil, why don’t you do it yourself?" Zero asked.

“Because he would never allow me to get within arms reach." Zero wanted to get back at Satan and he knew he couldn't do it alone. 

“What do I get out of this?" Zero asked. 

“You get anything you want." Zero thought carefully. 

"Can you change back my entire appearance?" Helios raised his eyebrows. 

“I can do better than that. I can give you the ability to change your own appearance to anything at any time. But if you agree to help me, you need to keep your current appearance until we have Satan in our trap." Zero smiled for the first time in years. 

“Let's do it," Zero said

Zero looks at himself in the mirror. He looks better than he ever had in his life. So far Helios had kept his word. He has done so much and more for Zero already and now its time for him to go through with his part of the plan. 

Zero changed himself back into the Zero everyone knows and hates. 

He knows that in five minutes Satan would be entertaining a few women and it would be easy to get to him. Satan never had these women in private. 

He always had the door wide open for everyone to see and hear. Zero walks out and made his way toward Satan's chamber. The closer Zero got, the louder the grunts and panting become. 

This is perfect Zero thought. 

Zero, as usual, walks into Satan's chamber without being noticed. He saw the three women each pleasuring him in their own way. Satan just laid there with his eyes closed while being pampered. 

Zero walks to Satan's head and stood over him. Satan's eyes opened. 

“Like what you see you, i***t? Too bad for you that you no longer have the organ to enjoy these pleasures." Satan said while laughing. 

Zero reached out and touched Satan's arm. Instantly Satan was bound and couldn't move. The women were shocked at what had just happened. Satan's eyes grew wide as he watched Zero change the appearance. 

“Actually I have more than you can ever imagine. You are about to have a lot less." Zero spoke. 

Helios appeared next to Zero having heard the summon. Knowing Satan was bound and helpless, Helios laughed in front of his enemy’s face.

“Nice job Zero. Now that you are a different man, would you like a new name?" Zero shook his head. 

“No. Zero still fits because there is a zero chance anyone who ever harmed me will survive my wrath." Zero and Helios both began to laugh. Satan tried to move himself but he just couldn’t. He couldn’t stand the thought of them take over the underworld.

His territory!

Satan tried to free himself yet again As he glares at both of the creatures he thought will never dare to touch him with his piercing glowing eyes. 

"Don't bother. It's a holy chain made from the hardest metal in the realm. I bless it myself." Helios smiled at the bound King. He turned to Zero. 

"Drag him to the altar where every demon he enslaved will see what happen to the notorious ruler of the underworld." Zero grabs Satan by the hair and dragged him out of his OWN castle. 

Zero threw him on top of the altar where series of whispering and gasping happened. They all wonder who was that demon who dare to do that to their ruler.

"How about be a doll and give me your powers," Zero said and patted satan's stomach. The girls that were with Satan now stand beside him. The girls grin. 

“I can't believe you let them entered your chamber." Zero started to laugh. 

“I mean. These women was my wife. You deformed and rape multiple times,” Zero turned to Helios. 

"Thank you. I never thought a God would help me." Helios waved his hand. Helios let zero have his fun. 

"Beware dear sisters. I will bring you down and be the most powerful God this realm has ever seen." Helios smirked and continue to enjoy what he‘s about to see.

CARA'S POV

"Nezera, Raelia, Raelia, Nezera." I introduced Voltaria's sister to my cousin. Nezera shakes her hand and smiled shyly at Raelia. Raelia was this close to smiling but it goes as fast as it comes. 

Suddenly I heard a kid cry. I turned to Voltaria who‘s carrying sleeping Violeta from the car. She just shrugged. I thought it was Violeta having her usual fit but I guess she’s being a sweet child today.

Raelia touched my shoulder and pointed at the field where the pups are training. 

“I'll be right back." Voltaria nods and I went to the pup. 

“Hey..." I called out. The pup looks up and wiped her tears. 

“What's wrong? Why didn't you go with your pack?" She kept a firm hold of her knee. 

"They're mean!" She said. I smile and kneel down. 

“Can I look at it?" She slowly nod and remove her hand. This is a very deep cut. I sighed and hold her knee with my hand. 

“I'm sorry but this will hurt. A lot." She nod her little head as I focus my powers on my hands and transferred the healing power to her knee. 

She started to move and I had to hold her down with my other hand. 

“Breath in and out,” but it’s futile. She’s in pain and I have no idea how to calm her down. 

Suddenly I noticed a hand wrapped around the pups little body and I look up to see Voltaria. 

"Shhhhh... Don't cry little one..." She smiled and I smile back. Her little hands grabbed on to Voltaria's arm. 

"Heal,” I breathe out and she stops shaking. I lifted my hand and watched the wound slowly close up on its own. She begins to relax and open her eyes slowly. 

“You're okay?" Voltaria asked. She nod. 

“Thank you... Your highness." Voltaria unwrapped her arms and gave her a little kiss on the cheek. 

"Such a brave little one." The little pup actually blushed. Voltaria chuckled. 

“Can I transform now?" I nod. Voltaria went to my side and watched as the little pup transforms into a beautiful grey wolf. 

“Go find your parents." She nod her head and went to the forest. 

“So you live together with the packs of your army? I mean they allowed to be in palace ground?" Of course. 

“We allowed them. Food, shelter, it’s all provided here in the palace. That's what momma suggested." 

“Momma?" Voltaria questioned.

“Queen Essence." 

“What do you call queen Thana?" Voltaria asked. 

"She's a mom. Anyway where is Violeta?" Voltaria pointed at Raelia's direction. 

“Violeta woke up and asked your cousin to hold her. She's playing with her horns." I laughed. 

"Well, she needs to practice after all.. Since she found her mate." Voltaria tilted her head and looks at me. 

“You sister. Didn't you noticed?" She shakes her head. 

“Your sister's eyes turned slightly white. My cousin was excited. I know she is." 

“What does it mean then?" 

"They just meet each other. Don't you ever feel that way to someone? Radomir perhaps?" She shakes her head. 

“Why do you even have s*x with him then?" She was about to say something but didn't. 

“It's pure lust I guess." I chuckled. 

“How did you feel when you saw me?" I asked. We walk towards my cousin and her sister. 

“I saw your wolf’s beautiful blue eyes." I smiled. 

"That's Caca. She's fell in love with you from the first time we met." I can feel Caca blushed a deep red. Voltaria did the same as well. 

“You okay?" Her sister asked. 

“You looked slightly red." She didn’t say anything. We were about to walk up the stairs when Aunt Rose walks out of the castle. 

“Raelia.." She gestured for Raelia to followed her. I leaned into Voltaria. 

“That's Rose Hardia, Raelia's mother. She's the daughter of Satan and Octavia, the ...." I was interrupted.

"Archangel." Voltaria finished. 

“Yes." She turned to me and smiled. 

"I went to the academy. I know her but they didn't mention she has a kid." I chuckled. 

“Aunt Raelia got married to a werewolf, my aunt, my momma’s older sister, aunt Moana." Aunt Rose to let her wings visible and and just like that she’s gone. Raelia walked back to us. 

“She's going to meet grandma." That's odd. 

"Why?" She shrugged. 

“Momma!!" Violeta called out. We all turn to her as she excitedly  pointed at a dragon in the sky. 

"Look! Dragons!" Looks like mom and momma is home. We all waited for them to land. 

“Oh hello, Voltaria. Violeta." Mom smiled. 

Momma looks like she's in pain. 

“My thigh is killing me!" She turned to the guest. 

"Hello.." 

“I have the same experience with horses." Voltaria smiled. 

“At least horses doesn’t have scaly back." Aunt Dominika huffed and fly away. 

“How's the Irrigon Kingdom?" Mom sighs heavily. 

“Wait! Your highnesses went to Irrigon? I've been trying to make contact with them for years." Mom raised her eyebrows. 

"Most of the kingdoms well being was deal by me. My parents just holds the official titled as being the King and queen who look pretty and have all the wealth at hand." Seriously? 

“So they don't go to wars?" Voltaria shakes her head. 

“My sister and I do. None of their advisor too." Mom shakes her head. 

“I will see what I can do about that. Once you're married to Cara, you will have to live here." I noticed Nezera sigh and looks away. I let it go for now. 

After parting with my parents, I decided to show Voltaria the way to my room. I bet she’s tired from the journey.

“This is my room." I open the door and walk in. Violeta went to my bed and jumped on it excitedly. 

“Violeta..." I stopped Voltaria. 

“She's just a kid. Don't worry." I smiled. 

“Look, momma! Swords!" She pointed to the wall above the bed headboard. 

“Violeta don’t touch it!... I'm sorry." I waved it off. I went to the dresser and took something out. 

"This is Soleria." I showed her a drawing of us by the lake. 

“Pretty..." Violeta said and traced her hands on it. Voltaria smiled. 

“What happened to her?" 

“She was killed. It's an act of treason. The guards caught him and mom sends him to Strigoi." Voltaria took the picture and smiled. 

"Do you miss her?" I went to sit next to Violeta who was busy playing with my pillows. 

“I do. For 10 whole years. But I’m trying to move on." I rubbed Violeta's head and she turned to me with her pouting face. 

“My hair!" I chuckled and hugged her. 

"Oh, Violeta. You're so cute." She struggling under me. 

“Hey hey! You’re smouldering my kid." Voltaria smiled. Suddenly I thought of something. 

“Hey, Violeta..." 

“Yes, Cara?" I pulled away and looks straight into her eyes. 

“Do you know how to dance?" She shakes her head. I turned to Voltaria. 

"Do you know how to dance?" 

“Of course. I am a princess." I smiled even wider. 

"Let's go to the ballroom." I lifted Violeta up and opened the door. Voltaria followed me from behind. 

“Raelia! Let’s go to the ballroom! Bring Nezera as well!!" I shouted in front of her door. 

I proceed to walk towards the ballroom. I asked the guards to open the door for us. 

“Welcome... To the Akeldama Royal Ballroom. This is where all the most extravagant parties and masquerade took place." Voltaria looks around as she's admiring the beauty of the room. 

"Wow..." I let Violeta down and turn to the guards. 

“Please inform the maids that attending my parents and grandmothers that princess Cara summon for them to be in the ballroom." He gave me a nod and bows. 

“What are we doing here?" Nezera asked when she walks in with Raelia. I noticed they both flustered. 

“Well, at least I stop whatever is happening in there," I said under my breath. Raelia glared.

“We're gonna dance!" Violeta beamed at her aunt. 

“Dance?!" Raelia sighs heavily. 

“Don't sigh. Dance is a very good exercise." The door opens and my parents walk in together with  my grandparents. 

“What's going on?" Mom asked.

"Mom I need you to play the piano." She furrowed her eyebrows. 

“Okay. This is sudden but it’s just what we need,” I smiled. 

“Which composition?" Mom went to sit in front of the piano.

“Love in Venice?" Again she looked at me. 

"Okay." Mom stretched herself and cracking her fingers. She closed her eyes to get herself ready before started to play the piano.

Violeta went to my grandmothers and dance with them. Nezera asked for a dance from Raelia while Momma played along with mom. I went to Voltaria and smiled. 

“May I have this dance?" She looks at my hand before rolling her eyes. 

“Serious?" this is as serious it can be. 

She took my hand and I put my other hand on her waist. She put hers on mine and we started to dance with the melodious sound my mom produce from the piano. 

Our legs move in such synchronise, it's like we dance together before. She avoided eye contact with mine. I cleared my throat to gained her attention. 

"Hi... My name is Cara. What’s your name?" I introduced myself. She laughed and smiled. 

“I'm Voltaria. Nice meeting you." We started to twirled around let our body sway together with the melody. As the song about to end, I decided to finally make use of the space we have between us and just smile when she’s started to panic.

For a second there I thought I was about to kiss her but she pushed me away and laughed nervously. 

“Stop joking, Cara." She smiled nervously. I bow a little and smiles back. 

Mom asked me to play the piano and I played Ave Maria for her and momma. I know it’s weird for vampires to listened to somewhat religious song but it’s their taste of music. As I play, I laughed when grandma Kora tries to teach Violeta dancing. 

“This is the first time I saw her laughing like that," Voltaria said beside me. 

"Well, maybe she should stay here longer." I smile at her. She pushed my head forcefully to so that I look at the other side. Did she just blush?
