“Wake up, darling.” Soft, familiar voice whispered close to my ears, forcing my eyes open to the morning sunlight. I stared at Mom’s face so close to mine. Her lips were stretched widely, smiling happily at me as she said, “Get up.” I’d never seen her so happy. I’d never seen her smile at me like this. It felt strange as I sat up, a strange pain buzzing in my head. My vision became blurry for a brief second before the memories swirled in my head. The accident! I had an accident earlier. A truck had suddenly crashed into my car so hard; it had tumbled over a few times. Did I survive it? Was I in the hospital? Is that why Mom was being nice to me? Perhaps, did she regret treating me so bad all this time? “Lola?” I called for my wolf but was met with absolute silence. Was she not there? I looked all around me. I was in a cozy room, lavishly decorated. Nothing like what I was used to. Mom was pouring me a cup of tear from an electric jug. She smiled at me again as she brought it to me. “Have you been taking this as regularly as I told you to?”

I stared at her, puzzled at what she was talking about. “As werewolves, I know we all have good genes but your skin still needs to be in perfect condition if you’re marrying someone like Alpha Lucien.” She sighed heavily. “In the future, you’ll be dealing with several dignitaries all over the world. You need to pay more attention to your looks.” “Mother?” I called, barely paying any attention to her words, unable to tell if this was a dream or not as I took the cup of hot tea from her. “Yes, sweetheart?” she answered and when I just stared at her and didn’t say a word, she shook her head, going to the wardrobe. “Alpha Lucien sent in your wedding gown earlier this morning. Beautiful, isn’t it?” Wedding gown? I thought, my gaze darting around and then I remembered what she had said earlier. Marrying Alpha Lucien? Several question marks popped above my head as she opened the wardrobe to reveal a glittering golden colored gown with a long tail that was spread out so beautifully. I gasped at the sight, absolutely mesmerized by it. “There, I knew you’d love this final look.” She clicked her tongue, the excitement on her face obvious as she walked back towards me. “The omega maids would be here soon, to take care of you.” Mother patted my hair, then smoothed out my brows and placed a kiss on my forehead. “Merry Christmas, darling.”And she left, telling me she had other things to attend to. This series of event caused me to stare in confusion, my mind racing as I watched her leave. Christmas? If it was Christmas today then everything that happened was just… last night? I was frozen for a good moment, processing what Mother had just said. Christmas, wedding gown, marrying Alpha Lucien and her strange treatment towards me. The moment the door closed, I ran over to the closest mirror, to stare at my reflection and the sight that met me caused me to stagger back, almost falling on my butt. “N-no way. No f*****g way!” my voice shook and I blinked a few times and went closer to the mirror to look again. Perhaps I had a false vision earlier. If not, why was my sister’s face staring back at me?! W-why—w-why did I have Kayla’s face?! My whole body shook as I touched my face—no—Kayla’s face, to make sure it wasn’t a mask. To my horror, it wasn’t! Something was terribly wrong. I tried to think, of all of my encounters yesterday and only one seemed to stand out to me. My eyes happened to glance down at the dressing table, finding something weird on top, in between the cosmetics. A statue. The statue of the wish goddess was sitting perfectly there. A gasp slipped past my lips when I remembered the seller, that little girl and the wish I had made last night before the accident. But if my body was not here, then how did the statue appear here in Kayla’s room? Shit! I cursed and quickly rushed to the door. If I was in Kayla’s body then how about my body? What happened to me? I needed to know what happened to me. I had just opened the door when a couple of omega maids blocked me. Their eyes widened in surprise as they forced me back inside the room. “My lady, you cannot be out right now.” “Exactly. We’re here to give you a proper bath.” Another one said and I couldn’t protest as I was forced to the bathroom, to lay inside the tub. I’d never been in one by the way. I never had such luxury in my room. The maids washed me with milk, vinegar, all the good things. You name it. But I couldn’t concentrate at all. All I kept thinking about was how this could be happening to me in any way. Fuck, f**k, f**k. I kept repeating internally. What have I done?
