Three Months Later
Clarke
I was waiting to meet up with Lark, I wanted her to tell Barron the truth and be together, the voices in my head wanted her to love us. Since our eyes met I have been having pains at random points of the night or day, whenever she chose to f**k my brother, I have been working out a lot just to get over my frustrations. I heard the doorbell and I let her in, she smiled and said, "I got your message, what do you want to talk about?" She looked like she didn't know I was in pain, I haven't slept with anyone so that I won't hurt her but she wouldn't give me the same courtesy. I asked if she wanted a drink out of respect but she turned it down saying, "No thank you, I am meeting my boyfriend later," I smiled, she was deliberately trying to hurt me with her words so I got straight to the point. I said, "You needed to break it off with Barron, I want you Lark, we are mates, and they will find another Queen for him," she said, "No, they will not, I love Barron, and I am staying with him, so we can just reject each other."
I refused and we argued, I even told her, "I will tell Barron if you don't tell him," she yelled at me, "And I will deny it, I don't want you, Clarke, let it go," before she walked out slamming my door shut. I had to contain my anger and the voices in my head and left to handle other business, I couldn't believe my goddess-given mate didn't want me. A few hours later, I was back inside my room when the pain hit me again, it was intense, I was on the floor trying my best not to freak out, I didn't know how much more pain I could take and I closed my eyes passing out. I don't know how long I was out but I needed to burn off steam, I went to my home office to do a bit of paperwork before heading to the gym, I needed it. I have been keeping busy doing business and making sure as third in command everything runs smoothly, I had finished working out in the gym after getting up from the excruciating pain I was experiencing earlier.
I knew it was that b***h f*****g my brother when my father mind-linked me about my niece finally arriving. I head over there as we always protect our own, she was adorable when I saw her but Lark's scent on my brother drove me crazy. And after our talk today, she really didn't give a f**k about me or the bond and I was beginning to despise her. She smiled as she had prepared a sandwich for me but I wasn't hungry for food pulling her in for a kiss. Things heated up pretty quickly as Lark appeared in my thoughts and I just wanted to shut her out completely, I was done fighting for someone who rather be with my brother so she could be Queen. I smiled because now the b***h knew how it felt and I left there leaving them to ponder what could be wrong, I went home for round two with Kayla, so, "f**k you, Lark." I wasted no time f*****g Kayla again and this time, I blocked out my family when she started to feel the pain of betrayal from a mate. She was playing dirty and now so was I, Zion was dormant for a while since taking on the pain from betrayal, he hated that our mate chose Barron and Leif over us, "What did Barron have that I didn't? Only his crown, women always flock to power but I will make their life a living hell if I have to," I thought before I passed out from exhaustion. I woke up with a sleeping Kayla next to me, my chest was sore so I decided to go for a run to heal. I went to the lake and saw Barron at our favorite spot, I wanted to leave but he said, "Join me, Bubba."
I took this opportunity to talk to Barron, I was going to tell him the truth, I sat beside him and I saw that he was crying, something he rarely does. He said, "I have a beautiful daughter, I don't know if I can do this alone, it was different with Rowe, I had all of you and we were helping Polly keep a secret, now this is different because I can't have my mate because of that tyrant King. I don't know what we ever did to that asshole but I want to hurt him so badly," I listened to his pain and assured him we will help with Sapphire, we are blood, he looked at me and said, "Lark will be a good stepmom, she is kind, loving and she is making an effort, I think I can love her Bubba, plus, you guys accepted her." I knew then I couldn't break his heart anymore and decided against telling him, I love my brother too much to hurt him.

I had a hectic morning after I argued with Clarke, I should have rejected him but I was so angry that he lured me there to get me to give up on Barron. I love Barron mate or not, I had put too much into this relationship to give up now, I knew the circumstances surrounding Barron and Princess Sophia. I headed to the mall to get all the baby's stuff so I could show him I would be a great stepmother to her, I would love her like my own and then one day, we would give her siblings she could play with. I was excited and headed home with a car full of things for the nursery and clothes, I knew he had prepared a room for her but I was going to give my added touch to it. My mind drifted to Clarke and what it would be like to be mated with him and start a family before I snapped out of it heading inside the Palace.
Barron was happy to see me and was grateful for all the things I had purchased for his daughter, he walked up to me kissed my lips and I could have sworn I saw his eyes pool with water. He helped me pack the things away before he headed to the bathroom to clean up for dinner, I was about to head to the kitchen when felt the most excruciating pain, I asked my bear, Sasha, "What was that?" She said, "Clarke is being intimate with another," I screamed in pain, Barron ran out to me and asked, "Baby, what is it?" I looked at him breathing heavily before passing out. I woke up in the hospital, and the doctor asked me about the pain I felt, I told him, "I don't know what it was," and he gave me all types of tests including a pregnancy test. Barron was excited until Clarke came over and didn't bat an eye at me before leaving, I felt pain a few minutes later and passed out again.
Barron kissed my forehead after I woke up, worried about me but I assured him, "I will be okay, the doctors got me covered and you need to go home to Sapphire," after spending more time with me, he left to go home. I woke up the next morning to Polly sitting next to me making sure I was okay, she asked me about mates and I lied saying, "I didn't have one," she smiled and left after Barron walked in with coffee in his hand, I said, "I see you had a rough night," he smiled saying, "I miss you and Sapphire kept me up," we both smiled and then the doctor release me to go home. When we got there, I decided to take Sapphire from his parents so they could rest, and my motherly duties began, she settled into my arms so lovingly, that Barron stood by the bedroom door watching us in awe before he went down to his office.
