By the time Edward arrived at the house, Scott had already left in an angry sulk.
Edward looked at Oscar and asked in a kindly voice, "Grandpa, how are you today?"
"I am still mad that you have forgotten me!"
Edward listened to his grandfather's irritable words and laughed. He knew that Oscar's reason for demanding to see him so urgently was that he wanted to know why Edward had returned to New York so suddenly that night.
His eyes flickered slightly as he calmly told Oscar, "I received the news that Mike was in the hospital and I went back to New York because I was worried about him. I was afraid that if I told you beforehand, it might affect your condition."
Edward spoke nonchalantly, with a calm expression belying no trace of lying.
