Ethan was speechless.
He would have loved to have taken Cosette home as his girlfriend, but he knew that he and Cosette were only friends and it was in this capacity that he had invited her to his home.
He wanted to keep his friendship with Cosette and would have never have compromised it by embarrassing her in such a manner.
