"Eva." Eloise said while looking at Eva who's eating lunch with her friends from journalism club. She thought that when there is a person she can speak about Iris' disapperance — it's her.
"Oh! Hi Eloise." Eva smiled at her.
"Can we talk?" She said looking at her with seriousness. Eva excused herself to talk with her.
They sit at the bench.
"What is it?" Eva kindly asked, curious about what she's gonna said.
She drink the cola at her side to ease the dryness of her throat.
"Iris, my friend is missing. She disappeared two days ago. I'm not sure where she is but it is unsual for her not to call or even send a single message to me or to anyone. If she will not attend classes tomorrow, I"ll report it in the police... W-when I heard about the missing students this morning, I decided to tell this to you." She said looking directly in Eva's eyes. Her voice filled with worry.
"Where was the last place you saw her? Did she say something before she disappeared?"
"I last saw her here in this school. She said ..." She paused. She hesitate to tell that Iris said that she was gonna sneak in Alfred's lab. If she ever admired Alfred, it might give her wrong idea.
Eva squeezed her hand lightly to continue.
"... she said she will sneak to Alfred's lab."
Eva looked at her for a moment. Her eyes become more focused. She can't read her expression.
"Do you think he's involved with your friend's disappearance?" Eva asked.
She wiped her sweaty hands in her pants and sighed.
"Y-yes." She didn't say but one time when exploring the Amory High, she accidentally saw him carrying a black bag.
Eva exhaled releasing a heavy breath, realived to know that she's not alone.
"Thank goodness! I thought I'm the only one who think there's something shady about the Costellos." Because many worship their appearance and wealth, people failed to see their dark side.
Eloise give Eva an unknowing look.
"I will help you. I'm secretly investigating them. Let's expose them." Eva said determined. Now that she already found a companion she gained more confidence.
"But I just want to find my friend." She's not interested in what Eva is saying because it might put her in a dangerous situation.
Eva sighed.
"Yes, I know but if you want to find your friend then you need to investigate him."
She think for a moment.
"Ok."
She doesn't know that finding her friend leads to the shadows in her dreams.
