Payne:     In the darkness of everything, there's always a light and mine is pounding on the back wall of my cell. There aren't any wolves outside. About ten minutes ago, a lot of them rushed out in a panicked haze. The sound of rushing footsteps rang throughout the packhouse loudly.     My heart began to pound in my chest when the wall started to cave in. I moved away from the noise. The chains had been changed a few days ago and I was finally able to stretch little by little and right now my efforts were paying off greatly. The stones broke through creating a mess.     "Shut up, dude. that's not true," someone laughed once the wall was down.     The dust and rubble all began to settle before one of them looked up at me. I don't know why but I found myself wishing I was a little more presentable. The surge coming off the one staring at me is strong. A young alpha maybe or a beta.     "Bro there's a guy in here," he said.     "s**t. I guess the huntress was wrong about the cages,"     "I'm going to set up there shouldn't be anyone here anymore. Do as Zulu instructed," he said going over to the door.     "Roger that," The other kicked the door open and rushed out.  With the added light, all I see are the shadows of them. "Hey man, what's your name?"     "Payne," I said. He didn't smell like he was part of this pack. He didn't smell rogue. I could be wrong on both guesses I haven't smelled another wolf other than the guards in over fifteen years.     "How long have you been in here Pay?" he asked already giving me a pet name.     "A long time. I used to be small," he chuckled and pulled on my chains breaking them out of the stone wall. "My shackles have silver,"     "Ouch bro. Here let me see," he began to mess with the shackles until they came off. My wolf waking up. Maybe the new alpha had sent him to let me go. "Does it hurt?"     "Yes, it has kept my wolf trapped in me," he sighed looking over my body. She looked around before his sight came back over to me.     "Alright, I'm done. Let's go," the other man said rushing in.     "He's weak. He's been here a while. Zulu is gonna love this guy. Whoever he is, he's money,"      "So is the alpha," the stronger one smiled. The one closest to me grabbed my arms before pulling me to him and flinging me over his shoulder.     My body began to jump up and down from him running. Suddenly, I became aware of every sore spot and pain on my body from my recent beating. I tried to make it stop by tightening my muscles as best I could. This guy must have caught on to it because he slowed down and began to power walk.     "You alright up there Pay?" He asked. I couldn't really answer the pain was suffocating me. "He's about to pass out Austin he's really f*****g hurt,"     "Let's get him to the hummer. Zulu is going b***h slap us both if we get caught here,"     My vision blurred. I tried to concentrate to stay awake but failing miserably. Everything began to spin as the brightness from the moon came into view. My wolf felt like coming out but neither of had the energy and the fresh air was making it hard to stay awake. Everything is starting to become overwhelming. There is too much happening for me process all at once.     "It's alright, buddy. You can sleep," the guy said and placed me on something soft.     "Who are you?" I asked. A faint smell of something sweet swirled in the air my wolf suddenly finding a little more energy to try and sit up.     "My name is Austin. I'm the beta This is my best tracker Jason," he said pointing at the man who had been carrying me.     "You're not part of Fire Rose are you?" I asked.     "No, man. We're from Blue Midnight. Our Huntress sent us in while she handled some business. She told us to take anyone who was in the dungeons,"     "Is she in charge? I thought the Beta over ranked her," the two of them chuckled looking at one another.     "He does but once the alpha gives her orders. She's in charge of making sure we complete those orders. Our assignment is done. Now we go home until she calls us to pick her up,"     "What's that smell?" I managed to ask.     "You mean aside from you, pal?" Jason laughed.      "No. Different. Nice," the two of them both shrugged.      "Maybe, it's just because you're out of that s**t hole man. How small were you when they tossed you in there?"      "Mmm, ten. Eleven maybe. I don't remember,"      "What?" they both asked.      "What did you do?"      "I don't know," I sighed.        That was mostly the truth. I knew the alpha hated me for who I was. The son of the woman that belonged to him. He had despised the fact that I had been conceived of her and not of him. I hadn't done anything to the man nor had I post any kind of danger to him or anyone else. That man had made me feel like he had every right to place me in that cell. He made me feel tainted, filthy for existing.      What am I supposed to say? How do I explain this to them? I can't even begin to word what had happened? I barely understand it myself. I can hear them silently speaking among each other as whatever we are in began to move. Once again, I can feel the aches all over my body. I can't help what is in store for me. Is this a good thing or am I riding towards a fate far worse than the one I had just left?   I felt my body give out and the darkness overpowered me making me sleep for the first time in a long time.
