Mom

Regina's POV I never felt so connected with someone  before. Jake is definitely different, in a good way. I can't believe I took his virginity. It makes me feel special and it's a boost to my ego as well. I have to thank Heather for dragging me on to this camping trip. Speaking of which, I should probably go back to our campsite. We still have to search for Stefanie.  The room has no clocks in it and the window is very small, so I have no idea what time it is. Jake is sleeping so soundly, I don't want to bother him. My mouth is extremely dry, so I decide to go search for the kitchen. Quietly getting off the bed, I tip toe to the door and open it. Closing it behind me, I take in my surroundings. I'm in what seems to be the living room area? Everything is an open space, so I can see the little kitchen area as well.  Looking around more, I notice there's no sink. There is a jug of water though on the counter, so I pour it into a wooden mug and gulp it down. Mmm. Refreshing.  I feel like I should make breakfast as a thank you for saving my ass yesterday. It's the least I could do, right? Strange. There's no fridge in here either. Just kitchen counters and utensils made of wood. Is he poor? I should buy him appliances for this place. The living room is pretty plain too. To my surprise, he actually has a nice couch and coffee table. But, that's all there is. I would have to get a generator like the one Steven has at his cabin in order to use the appliances I plan on purchasing.  Searching the place some more, I spot a thin door. Curiosity got the better of me, and I open it. It's dark. Really, really dark. Hmm. I grab a match I saw on the kitchen counter along with one of the candles. Lighting it, I descend down the stairs of this mystery room.  The temperature is much colder down here, I think to myself right as I bump into something. Looking down, I observe that it's a pretty big freezer. Oh! That makes sense. Keep food downstairs where it's colder to prevent it from going bad.  I open the lid with one hand, while holding the candle in the other. Looking in, I closed it immediately. There is no way I saw what I think I just did. I take a deep breath before slowly opening the freezer lid again. My heart begins to beat rapidly as I confirm what I thought I saw just before. A woman's head is right in the center of the freezer. I'm going to throw up.  "I see you met my mom."  I've never been more frightened in my life.  "Y-You're mom?" I manage to stutter out in disbelief. I hope this is just some f****d up nightmare and I will wake up any second now. Nope.  "Yes." He states calmly like it's not big deal.  I can't breathe. I'm having a panic attack. Dropping the candle, I then fall to the floor as well, welcoming the darkness as my eyes shut.  Heather's POV Once Steven is feeling better, we begin our search. There's honestly not much around down here, except an odd looking structure. Someone definitely took a long time to make this... shelter?  My heart begins to thump, hoping that Stefanie or Regina could be inside. There's a wooden door among the wall made of boulders, wood, and dirt. I've never seen a home attached to a cliff before.  I also notice a small window and decide to peek inside. Steven is right beside me and as we look in, we can tell that someone definitely lives here.  "Do you think they are inside?" I ask with such high hope. Steven grins at me and says that there is only one way to find out. He knocks on the door and we wait impatiently for someone, anyone, to answer.  Getting tired of waiting, I turn the handle and it opens up. I smile and walk inside. Steven hesitates for a moment before following me.  "Hello?" I call out. I'm really surprised at the inside of this place. It's much nicer inside than it it outside. It's simple, but nice.  We walk around the small area, and find a bedroom. It looks as though someone was in it not too long ago. Plus, there's no dust in this place, so someone is taking care of it.  Going back to the living room/kitchen type of area, there's one place left we haven't checked yet. There's a thin door and Steven turns the handle and opens it. It looks dark, so Steven grabs two flashlights out of his backpack. Not going to lie, as we began to walk down the stairs, the smell of rotten meat was filling the air. I had to hold back the urge to vomit. By the look on Steven's face, I can tell he was disgusted as well.  As we reach the bottom of the stairs, we shine our lights around the area. My heart stops momentarily. "REGINA!" I yell as I run to my unconscious-looking friend. She's strapped down to a wooden slab table with heavy-looking rope. The weird thing is, there are wildflowers placed gently around her body.  "Regina!" I shout again, as I try to wake her up.  "Heather.." I hear the frightened tone in Steven's voice as he calls my name.  When I look over at him, he's standing near a freezer, holding the lid open. Oh no. I don't want to know what is in there that is freaking him out. It's most likely the source of the rotten smell filling the room.  I slowly walk over to him and gasp as I see ahead along with many, many, human body parts. I close the lid harshly and rush back to my friend.  "Steven! We have to get here out of her, quick!"  He is at my side and begins cutting the rope with a pocket knife. "Hurry! Who knows when the person who lives here will be back!" I begin to panic. This is literally like a scene from a horror movie.  "Oh, hello friends." f**k. I know that voice.  "Jacob." I state coldly.
