Flames

Jacob's POV I lay stiff in bed next to Regina. I have never felt this nervous before. What am I suppose to do? Do I thank her? As I'm wondering these things to myself, I feel her head lay against my chest. I'm sure being that close, she can hear my rapid heart beat.  "Are you okay?" She asks me, sounding genuinely concerned. Nobody ever cares about me or how I feel. "Yes. I am now that I have you here with me." I answer her honestly and she smiles at me. I lean down and give her a quick kiss. I can't get enough of this woman.  "I really should go shower." I'm surprised she isn't freaking out about laying on a blood stain shirt. She really is something else.  She pouts at me, but agrees.  "Oh my god!" She suddenly shouts, startling me.  "What? What happened? Are you in pain?" I ask question after question.  "Heather is probably freaking out that I'm not with her! She must be worried sick and searching for me! I have to go!" I stare at her in disbelief. Does she really think she can walk after being attacked by a bear?  "What you need, is to rest. I'll go find Heather and bring her here. Okay?" I hate myself for lying to her. I am heading out, but not to go find her friends. I need to dispose of the body in my hallway. I would never allow her friends to know where I live.  She let's out a breath of relief. "Thank you, Jake."  I feel guilty, I think? f**k. She's getting to me and I can't allow this. I can't allow myself to get attached to my victims.  "I'll be back soon." I tell her before leaving the room.  The garbage bag is right where I left it and I grab a hold of it, dragging it to the front door.  Should I trust her alone in my place? What if she escapes?  Well, that would make the cat and mouse chase much more fun. However, I don't think she will try and leave.  I can't have her friends ruining my plans, so I need to deal with them right away. It takes a moment before I think of the perfect idea. Steven is my main concern. For a business man, he seems like he could fight me easily. I need to rid him first. Considering it's almost nightfall, he must be at his cabin getting ready to sleep.  With the garbage bag over one shoulder and my bow and arrows over the other, I make my way to his place. I stake out my surrounding and doesn't seem like anyone is outside the cabin and no candles or lights can be seen inside. Perfect.  I quietly open one of the windows and toss the bag of his former employer inside. Going around to the front door, I place several boulders in it's way. As for the windows, I used a rock to quietly nail them all shut, except one. Grabbing sticks, I rub them together until a flame ignites. Tossing it in, I run to a tree not too far away and watch the cabin light up. I smile in delight to know that problem number one is dealt with. Now, time to find Heather.  I check the tent at the campsite that her and Regina had set up, but she's not here. Hmm. Well, this should be fun. While I'm close by, I go and stick a nail in Dawn's car tire. I remove it, then return to the woods to find my prey.  Though it's dark, I've lived here for so long, I know every inch of this forest by hand. Tonight, I have the fire I started to help guide me. I listen for any movement, but only hear the sounds of animals. I should head back home and feed Regina. She must be hungry by now and I don't want her leaving the room I have her in.  Heather will have to wait until the morning.  Plus, I don't want to be out and about when the firemen and helicopters come to put out the wildfire I started.
