Petal Quite honestly, I felt stupid. Yet, at the same time, I was really grateful Finch didn't seem at all annoyed or bothered by me asking him to stay with me until Noah left. I am not sure why, but I felt completely safe with him. I could try to overthink it, but there wasn't really time at the moment. Finch moved, so he was now standing in front of me. "Then, if you trust me, I have an idea to get him off your back for a bit." Standing, I nodded. I had no doubt that whatever his plan was, I trusted him completely. Again, I'm not sure why. I didn't actually know anything about him, but just like my gut feeling about Noah, my gut told me I could trust Finch with my life. That feeling faltered slightly as he shrugged off his cut, tossing it onto the couch behind me. He then pulled his shirt off, handing it to me. "Take this into the other room and put it on in place of your pajamas. Once I open the door, count to ten, then come out but stay in the doorway, just so he can see you." Swallowing hard, I took his shirt, going into the other room like he told me to. I still wasn't entirely sure what his plan was, but I still did as he said, changing once again. This time, I was wearing a t-shirt that came down to just below my bottom. It wouldn't take much for my underwear to show. From the other room, I heard the lock on the front door just before I heard the door open and Noah stopped pounding on it. I was surprised none of my neighbors were complaining already. Hopefully, whatever Finch had planned would get Noah to leave, and my neighbors wouldn't be bothered. Sighing, I started counting in my head while I listened to what was being said. "Can I help you?" "Who the hell are you?" "Me? Who are you? And do you realize what time it is, man? Why the hell are you pounding on my girlfriend's door so late?" "Girlfriend?" At that moment, I reached ten. Again, doing as Finch had told me, I stepped out of my room, staying just in the doorway and stepping out enough that Noah could see me just over Finch's shoulder. My movement caught Noah's attention, making him look at me. Moving, Finch turned just slightly, glancing back at me without taking his eyes off Noah. "Babe, you know this guy?" Slowly, I nodded, hoping this was still part of his plan. I was also doing my best to ignore the butterflies that took flight in my stomach at the mere fact Finch called me Babe. It was a feeling that I was not ready for, nor was I expecting. I normally didn't like pet names like that, but there was something about him calling me by one. I don't know how to explain it other than I liked it more than I probably should. "Noah.." Finch turned all the way back around so his full attention was on Noah again. "Ah yeah, the stepbrother. We were just about to go to bed, so what can we do for you this late?" I'm not going to lie. Watching Noah stammer over what he planned to say next would have made me laugh on a normal night. But I was still so taken off guard by Finch's plan I am sure I will laugh later. Besides, it wasn't just the plan that had me off-kilter. I was also a little distracted by Finch himself. With his shirt and cut on, you didn't notice it, but with his shirt off, you could see he had some muscles. I am talking about those nice lean muscles you only saw on guys who took good care of themselves. And so far, I have only really gotten a look at his back. I know I had the chance to see his front when he pulled his shirt off, but I didn't take the opportunity then. And believe me, I was kicking myself now. I could see he had a couple of tattoos along with the muscles. His arms had tattoos that ran from his shoulders down to his elbows. He also had a tattoo on his back right shoulder blade. From where I was standing, that one looked like there was a clock that read two forty. Above the clock was a small chain with a bird holding it. Below the clock were two tiny feet with what looked like a name and date. All of which was surrounded by sunflowers, taking up all the space on that one shoulder blade. "I..uh…I was…I um…I saw Petal's car on the side of the road." Noah cleared his throat, pulling himself back together. "I wanted to make sure she made it home safely when I didn't see her with the car or anywhere along the way." Finch nodded. "That was kind of you. But as you can see, she is home safe, and as I said before, we were just about to go to bed." Noah gave a half smile and nodded before turning and walking away. Finch closed and locked the door, then shut the light off for the front room. The only light now came from my bedroom. It was enough for him to see and walk across the room from the door back to the window without making it obvious he was now looking out the window. It was also enough for me to notice that he had also taken off his boots after he sent me into the other room. It was also enough light for me to see his jeans set low on his hips, and if I were a gambling woman, I would bet everything in my bank account that there was nothing under those jeans. They set so low on his hips that I could see the well-defined v that dipped under his jeans from the side view I was now getting. I could also see the lines of his well-defined abs. "Go ahead and shut your room light off." Shaking my head, I pulled my eyes away from ogling him and did as he said. I couldn't let myself go there. First of all, he was a member of the MC. He wasn't allowed to even look at me that way. Not that I thought he would even bother looking at me like that. I know I am not bad-looking, but I also knew there were plenty of other better-looking girls who worked at the club. Ones that, if he was even willing to risk it, who would be more worth the risk. Besides, there was no way he wouldn't even think twice to go after one of them before me. Second, he was only here because he was ordered to make sure I got home after my car broke down. And now only here because my stepbrother was acting like a psycho. Third, I am more than sure if he could leave right now and go home to see whoever was waiting for him, he would. Besides, there was no way I believed the person he had talked to when we first got inside was his sister. Why the hell would she care if he was home on time? The fact that he was willing to say so and not be honest about having a woman at home waiting for him didn't sit well with me. Still, with all that, I couldn't help looking at the guy who was now standing practically naked in my front room. But that was it. I allowed myself a look, and now I would have to get over it and move on.
