Finch I can't believe my luck. And quite honestly, I am not sure if this was bad luck or good luck. This wasn't exactly the way I wanted to get her on the back of my bike. Yet here we were. My only hope now was that her hands didn't fall lower than they were on my stomach. Any closer to my lap, and there would be no hiding the fact I was hard. A fact that wasn't getting any better as she tightened her grip, pressing herself even closer to my back as I pulled back onto the road. I had to force myself not to focus on her body being so close. "She is off limits," quickly became my internal mantra as I made my way to the address I had gotten out of her before getting back on the road. As I pulled into the parking lot, my goal was to park as close to her apartment door as possible, ensure she got inside fine, and leave. But, like my original plan of leaving the nightclub and going straight home, that wasn't going to happen. As I pulled into a parking spot, I felt her stiffen behind me. Something was wrong, and I was going to have to deal with whatever it was before I could just leave her. Parking, I helped her off the back of my bike, ready to have to pry what was wrong out of her, but to my surprise, I didn't have to do much more than that. Pulling my helmet off, she held it out for me. "I know you didn't really want to give me a ride, but could you maybe do me one more favor, walk me to my door, and stay until he leaves?" Her gaze moved to a car parked a few spots away. The windows were tinted, so you couldn't see into the car easily. Pretty sure with how dark they were, they could be considered illegal, but who was I to judge? At the same time, I had questions about who was in the car. I didn't need an angry boyfriend or ex coming at me. Though, I was willing to hold my questions until we got inside. I sure as hell wouldn't turn her asking for help down if whoever was in that car made her feel unsafe. I would expect any guy out with my sister to do the same if she asked, so I wouldn't hold myself to any lower standard. I may want to do nothing more than go home right now, but I also wouldn't leave Petal here alone when she clearly felt unsafe. So, with a nod, I followed her up the sidewalk, up a couple of flights of stairs to her apartment door, and inside, closing and locking the door behind me. Before I could say anything, my phone started ringing. There was only one person who would be calling me this late at night, and since I was not home yet, it was only to be expected that I would be getting a call. Emilia stayed at my place during the week on the nights I had to work and watched Anna for me, while my mom would take her on the weekends when I had to work. And since it was a weeknight, I knew without looking Emilia was on the other end of the call. Still, I answered it, even though I already knew what she wanted. "Yeah?" "Where you at?" "One of the girls was having car trouble. I am getting her home. I will be home in a bit." "Fine, then I am taking your bed. Where are your clean sheets?" Scoffing, I rolled my eyes internally at her. "My sheets are clean." "Sure they are. Where are your clean ones?" "In the closet, to the right, just inside the door. And the ones on the bed are clean. I just changed them." "Sure. I will leave a pillow and blanket on the couch for you." With that, she hung up. I shook my head, putting my phone back in my pocket. While I was on the phone, Petal disappeared into one of the other rooms and returned just as I put my phone away. "I'm sorry. I am sure you have other things to do. I am probably just being paranoid. Noah, my stepbrother, has never done anything to make me think he would do anything. But I don't know, he and his friends came into the club tonight, and he paid for a private dance with me, and I just got this feeling like I shouldn't be alone with him. So I turned it down, even though the money he offered would have now come in handy with my car and everything. And now he is sitting outside my apartment." Sighing, she plopped down on her couch. While she was out of the room, she had changed her clothes. Replacing her short butty shorts and shorter then s**t belly shirt, which was common for the girls to wear to the club, for a pair of pajama pants and loose fitting top. Frankly, if you asked me, she looked way hotter in her pajamas than in the clothes she wore to work. But that wasn't the important thing right now. "It's fine. Not the first time I have slept on the couch, and I am sure it won't be the last." Both her eyebrows shot up. "Your girlfriend or whatever shouldn't punish you because you are helping…." I waved her off. "It's sister. And it's only fair she is doing me a favor by staying late…If Noah has never done anything to make you feel uncomfortable, why do you think tonight is different?" Sighing, she sat back on the couch, pulling her legs up in a crisscross position. "Well, I guess that wasn't really a true statement. Noah and I knew each other before my dad and his mom got together. He asked me out in high school, and I turned him down. Though, if you ask him, I was his easiest lay. Anyway, after that, our parents got together, and he and his brother made it their mission to be jerks. Their most recent thing was telling my dad about my job, which led to a long, drawn-out lecture from my dad. One that ended in me telling their mom how the two had come to know I even worked at the club in the first place. Which to her, her two angels going to a place like that would be just as bad as me working there. So, I am sure I pissed him off, and I don't know." Shrugging her shoulders, she watched me walk over to the window. If I were lucky, the guy would have seen me walk her up and not come back and leave, and that could be that. But of course, that wasn't how my luck was going tonight. Instead he was getting out of his car and walking towards the building. All though, as a guy who has been told he can be an overprotective brother, that wouldn't have stopped me from walking up to my sister's door. At the same time, I wasn't getting overprotective brother from this guy. "How does he normally act when you have a boyfriend?" Shrugging, she shook her head. "He normally backs off a bit and leaves me alone for a while. Why?" As if to answer the question for me, Noah started pounding on her door.
